“Casey is AWESOME!!! She is sweet, kind, has great energy, highly communicative, bonded with the animals very quickly, and is all-around Great! Definitely will have pet-sit again.”

“Ru was so amazing! When our previous sitter unfortunately fell through, we requested Ru last minute and she responded right away and was able to help us out! She was so attentive with our little ones and really did a fantastic job with their more complex care. Wish I could give more than five stars we’re truly so grateful Ru was able to help us! We’ll definitely be booking again in the future!”

“Tomoko is a very qualified and compassionate caregiver. She and my dog, Daisy hit it off right away and now Daisy has a new best friend. Tomoko completed all of the tasks requested with love and joy. I will definitely be calling on her again. I trust her very much and I know my little Daisy does too. I find that to be so valuable, especially in today’s day and age. If I had more room I could give her even greater accolades. But I hope this review expresses my deep sense of peace, leaving Daisy with her and pleasure to utilize her services.”

About: I grew up with dogs and have loved having them in my life ever since. My family had Cocker Spaniels and Golden Retrievers, and later I adopted a mixed-breed dog of my own. Having my own dog taught me that every pup is different. Some are immediately affectionate and trusting, while others need a little more patience and time before they feel safe with someone new. I learned how important it is to pay attention to their cues, respect their boundaries, and let trust build naturally. I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s personality and making them feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while their person is away. I work remotely as a brand designer, so pet care fits very naturally into my everyday routine. I’m home throughout most of the day and already take regular breaks to get outside and walk, which means plenty of opportunities for walks, potty breaks, playtime, and attention. My schedule also gives me the flexibility to follow each dog’s usual routine as closely as possible. I know every dog has their own personality, boundaries, and routine, so I like to take the time to let them get comfortable with me at their own pace. I follow the care instructions you provide, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, house rules, and any little routines that help your dog feel at home. When caring for a dog in my apartment, they’ll have a clean, comfortable, air-conditioned space and plenty of company since I work from home. When staying in a client’s home, I’m equally mindful and respectful of both their pet’s routine and their space. My goal is always for your dog to feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away.
“I was so impressed with Michelle and Liz. They played with my (very active) cat and I was never worrried for a moment. I felt like my cat was being taken care of by a friend. This was the first time I left my cat alone with ANYONE and I was very nervous about how she would do but I got pictures of her cuddling and playing with Michelle and Liz and I felt so relieved every day. I would definitely use them again. They were a godsend.”

About: Full disclosure, candor, your vocabulary word of choice. Hello, I’m André. I’m a 30y/o Los Angeles pet dad, looking for a nice side gig as well as a way to Connect & edify myself with pet-care & social skills going to forward. Primarily with the animals, yet as well built communicative skills with individuals. -Cheers, André. ✌🏽 Currently I am self-employed. Be that as it may, I have quite the open/flexible schedule. Adherence to any fitted schedule isn’t necessary. Unless communicated prior, scheduling shouldn’t ever be an issue of concern. I’ve been surrounded by, and lived with and have familial pets all throughout my life, but I’ve only recently become a pet father myself as of eight months ago. Actions I take in my home to cater to, and care for my pets include the following: -Thorough research on how to continue to better myself as a parent towards my pets. -Patience becoming more and more a virtue 😅 ha. -Repetition -Understanding Acts of discipline, or constructive experiences to better the bond between myself and my pets, are dismal. Redirection, and communication with the pets consistently build the bond. Consistent, and I mean consistent playtime, proper feeding schedule, toys…I’ve built quite the furniture shop for my cats. Lastly just love them, damn. 😁
“I was so happy to have Karen look after my two kitties for a long weekend. She communicated with me every day and sent plenty of pictures. I could tell from all of the playtime pics that they warmed up to her very quickly. I would not hesitate to book her again.”

About: I have been a life long multi-pet owner. Animals have been my passion my entire life and I recently moved to the area to continue to grow that passion into a career. I am currently attending veterinary school and I am hoping to utilize the flexible scheduling of pet sitting and care to continue my passions off campus. I do come from working in small animal emergency hospital, so I am equipped to deal with any situation and can ensure those with special needs are cared for properly when you are away. I’m currently commuting to and in school five days a week. My best availability is Friday afternoon through Sunday. I have so vary degrees of flexibility on holidays, or when classes are not in session. My care can be as simple as multiple visits and play sessions. Or I can spend the entire day with your pet. No matter what you can rest assured every need will be met with the best attention to detail needed for your pet. I will be providing care for your pet in your own home and walking in your neighborhood. I am pretty flexible and have reliable transportation so if you’d prefer your pet to go to a specific place or park or close hike, I can do that as well. In these hotter months I try to keep walks to mornings before 9am and evenings after 7pm due the heat and temperature of the ground.
“Eliana, once again, took great care of Bella. She was also super responsive when I had to contact her over a mix up with someone else getting access to the house.”
About: I've had pets all my life. I've had dogs, cats, fish, and turtles. I've also cared for hamsters, rabbits, and guinea pigs before. I've walked, fed, bathed, house sat, and played with pets belonging to family and friends. Having had my own pets throughout my life, I know how precious furry friends are. I will tend to your pet with utmost care! I'm currently working on my master's so my schedule is inconsistent. However, if you need me to care for your pet at a specific time, please contact me and we can try to work something out! How I care for your pets will largely depend on your preferences as the owner. I want to get to know your pet's personality, preferences, and energy leveI. I would like a general schedule of feeding and bathroom times and instructions. In your home, I can play with your pet, sit next to them, cuddle with them, or go out for brief walks.
“Nathan and Lisa did an excellent job with the cats and went above and beyond helping us with a potential water leak while we were away. We would definitely recommend them!”

“Brittany did a great job taking care of our two cats when we were gone for a week. She stopped by every day at the same time and sent updates and photos. She was very amenable to taking in the mail and putting our trash cans back after trash day, which I appreciated. Would definitely request her again.”

“Barbara has been a terrific help with our dog's potty breaks while we're at work. He takes a while to get used to new people and Barbara has done a great job building trust with him, he looks forward to her visits and getting extra play and attention during the day.”

“Jane is awesome! We have a reactive Chihuahua and Jane handled our first meeting with patience and a great attitude. We're looking forward to continue working together and providing our dog with a trustworthy caretaker”

About: We are not ready to own a pet full time just yet but I would love to help other owners with their pets. I do have children my youngest being 6 so they do have to be children friendly but I also have a safe space your pet can be separate from them when they want or need to be. I grew up with all different types of animals my whole life as well as worked taking care of, full time, a rescue that consisted of 16 cats, 5 dogs and 5 horses. So I am very familiar with animals and their needs. This is the first time I have not had a pet in my life which is why I decided to join this app. Hope to see you and your pets soon!! I am a licensed real estate agent and mother to three beautiful children. I am available at various times to watch and care for your pets. I love to be outdoors and going for walks. I live in an apartment complex, in the building that sits in the back. I have open space and an outdoors community area where your pet can go for a walk or use the bathroom. I also am comfortable working in others homes with respect to their belongings and personal preferences.
About: ~ I consider myself a compassionate caretaker in as much as I do. ~ * Although I have only had two dogs of my own: a Spaniel-mix (rescue) & Terrier-mix (from a litter) I took upon a role of part-time caretaker, by helping to feed, walk, and bathe our dogs. I enjoyed using a k9sportsack to carry our smaller pup on extended hikes when terrain was tough. I hope that your pet can enjoy their time with my family and myself - as I believe we are keen to sense a pet's basic needs. Personally, I know of fun &/or calm places to take pets on brief outings outdoors, including trails &/or parks. I also take time to clean up along the way, or afterwards. Please feel free to browse my Facebook (Max Allan Mosesman) or Instagram profile (maxmosesman) where I post my most frequented routes, travels, & hobbies. If your pet does end up booking a stay with us (please schedule a Meet & Greet beforehand in order to meet us and our environment so that we can best prepare for your pet's booking as per their individual needs & preferences). Our home is small to medium sized, and good for up to 1-2 pets maximum (if they are already house trained), to take naps within, and/or sleep overnight. Our Backyard, half-grass/half-patio is also on the small to medium scale, with fencing on all three sides. The outdoor yard has side access (to a Garage) with two gates (one is removeable) along the way. Both front & back yards contain flowers, herbs, and fruit-bearing trees that you or your pet may find pleasant to be around. Currently, we are only accepting small to medium sized dogs that are already well-trained & socialized. If this description matches what you are looking for - then we hope to help you and your pet out soon enough! I currently work/volunteer part-time - which gives me about every other morning to take your dog outside on a specific hike (if deemed suitable & appropriate), as well as check in on them throughout the day for basic feeding and breaks in the backyard. Currently we have five members to our household, and each person does a part to help out with boarding pets, which includes some combination of feeding, walking, playing, bathing, and 'light' grooming. We are open to any & all suggestions that specifically pertain to your pet and will to our best to make adjustments accordingly.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Montrose
Kaylah has helped me now on numerous occasions with my two kitties. They’re typically very shy with strangers but seem to LOVE her.. and remember her with each subsequent visit! I have a lot of peace knowing Kaylah will come to love on the kitties while I’m away. Highly recommend and very reliable.

Thank you so much Tomo. Losing our dog sitter right before our trip really stressed us out. Thank God we found you to step in on such short notice. Bronson & Penny have a new forever friend in you. The whole family is so grateful for your thoughtful care and positive spirit. Upon our return, Penny & Bronson were happy to see us, but were clearly loved and taken care of in our absence. And thank you for following all of our quirky instructions and being such a great communicator. You are the best!!!!

I was so impressed with Michelle and Liz. Wow. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the experience was having Alex look after my 2 kittens. It’s always stressful to be away from pets, but all of the positive reviews I read about Alex turned out to be true. He gave detailed reports of his interactions with my little guys and sent lots of photos. This gave me so much reassurance that all was well. I recommend Alex 100% if you want the very best care for your fur babies.

Barbara is the best sitter! She takes care of my cat Lancelot every time we travel. She gives him a lot of love and affection, and will go far and beyond to take care of unexpected things that happen when you travel (like plumbing issues). Thank you, Barbara!

Ritzwi & Ben were wonderful from start to finish. They were always on time, very communicative, and incredibly kind. When heavy rains caused some minor basement flooding, they went above and beyond to help us manage it, which meant a lot and gave us real peace of mind. Most importantly, they were so sweet and attentive with our cats—clearly thinking about their comfort and happiness, not just checking a box. They made time for play, pets, and genuine care. We’d happily trust them with our home and pets again.

We’re so thankful we found Maria to care for Odin and Loki. She was on time, kept us in the loop, and the boys were clearly happy and relaxed with her. From the first meeting, it was obvious she had a natural way with dogs, and we felt comfortable. She stayed responsive to our questions and made the whole experience stress-free. Truly grateful for her help — we’d happily book with her again and highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
