“Traci is awesome! She is very responsive and responsible. Traci kept me updated of how Rocket was doing during her visits. And every Rover report card is super detailed. We are so glad we found Traci and will definitely keep working with her.”

“Alicia has been providing drop-in visits for my cats twice a day whenever I'm away, and she takes wonderful care of them. She always sends me photos and videos to keep me updated, which means so much to me. Knowing my cats are in such caring and capable hands gives me peace of mind and eases my worries. I'm truly grateful for the love and attention she gives them.”

“Fiona was great with our 13 year old cat who’s very cautious with strangers. She has calm and affectionate demeanor which any animal/human would love to be around.”

About: I’ve had at least one dog my entire life and I always took and continue to take very good care of them. I have done independent pet care for about 5 years now and I absolutely love it! My friends and family also love to have me come watch their fur babies because they know I will look after them very well. I am really good at getting pets to trust me without getting in their space. I will shower your fur baby with as much affection as their heart desires! I have a pretty open schedule. The only thing that is taking up my time is working as a pet care provider, I can accommodate pretty easily. In a client’s home, I will always do my best to make sure the pet or pets are kept safe and more importantly feel safe and comfortable.
About: I’ve been dog and cat sitting for ten years because I love animals! I’m very active, love to hike with dogs, and also am creating music when at home which they tend to love if they’re with me :) I am a part time sitter and am available on some holidays which has been helpful for clients in recent years. Pet sitting fits in to an ever changing and flexible schedule. I am currently at a pet friendly and peaceful residence on a quiet street. I also pet sit for neighbors in my immediate neighborhood within a 3 mile radius.

About: I have been pet setting for over six years! I love dogs, cats, and basically everything in between. I just like to be in their presence! Currently, I work part-time so I’m very free to take care of animals! I’m looking to build a trustworthy clientele of pet owners to help out in Los Angeles <3 Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. In your home, I respect your space and follow all care instructions closely to keep your pet’s routine consistent and stress-free.
“Yana is very reliable and took great care of my two cats. She sent me a lot of pictures and videos everyday, playing and cuddling with them. She helped clean up my kitten who is currently wearing the cone of shame, and made sure kitten was able to eat and drink with her cone. Both cats really love Yana and I will be booking with her again soon. Would definitely recommend her to my friends.”

About: I’ve always shared my home with dogs, whether living with roommates and family who had pets or stepping in to pet-sit for friends. Even without having a dog of my own, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the unique bond they share with us 'two-legged animals.' I love their capacity for unconditional trust and pure affection—they really are the best companions. Whether I’m matching their high energy or enjoying a quiet moment of calm, I find so much joy in their presence Currently I am on sabbatical from my job and have time to spend with pets. I like taking dogs out for walks at the park, or just around the neighborhood. Unless some other life responsibility comes up, I am open to spend as much time as I would like with the fuzzy butts! I live in a small 8 unit apartment building in a very walkable neighborhood. I live very close to Griffith park and love to visit there with dogs. My apartment is a 2/2 and there are no limits to if a pet is on the furniture with me. I love to snuggle if they like to.
“Michael was fantastic! He gave my husband and me updates on Ringo and sent pictures! I think Ringo was very happy and we'lldefinitely hire Michael again to hang out with Ringo!”
“Sarah & David are the best! So friendly, considerate and thorough. Out cat is quite shy and gets down when we are away; however; he seemed calm and content when we returned. Would absolutely recommend.”

“Sorn went above and beyond to care for my senior cat who had medication needs while I was gone! She even checked on my second cat who is notoriously hard to find and hard to please. She spent the quality time with my babes like I would, will definitely be coming to Sorn again for our future pet needs.”

About: Growing up in a dog-loving family with parents on the board of an animal shelter, I have experience with senior, fosters, puppies, reactive, and diverse dogs! I have three years of dog walking experience at Citizens for Humane Action. I love all types of dogs, but now am a dog mom to a corgi named Juno! I'm currently working part-time as a clinical researcher so I have a flexible schedule on weekdays and weekends for dog-walking, playing with your pup during drop-in visits, and for house sitting. I have the most flexibility in the mornings, but am happy to accommodate all schedules! I have an anxious, but explorative corgi myself, so I know the importance of giving dogs of all personalities the space to feel comfortable and happy on walks. I like to let dogs lead, but be aware of my surroundings to ensure that both your pup and other pedestrians are safe! In the home, I take it slow and again, let the dog lead! I would love the opportunity to get to know your dog!

About: Last year I said goodbye to my 17 year-old dog Max, just a few months after my cat Scotty passed away suddenly from kidney disease. Thankfully, Scotty's sister Star is still with me and thriving, but I really miss being around and caring for other animals. I have a lot of experience with senior dogs and the gentle care they require. I'm also very familiar with younger dogs of all sizes. And I've fostered a lot of cats - mainly kittens - which is how Star and Scotty originally came into my life. I would love the opportunity to care for your pet - whether it be walks, drop-ins, boarding or pet-sitting. I work part-time, teaching improv and also teach at an academy for gifted and neurodivergent homeschool students. The classes are short and nearby (and are not every day) so I'm never gone for more than 2-4 hours. Which leaves me plenty of time to spend with your pet! I'm available for home visits, walks throughout the day, boarding, and/or pet sitting any day of the week. I live in a residential neighborhood in the Somerset section of Glendale, perfect for walks. My apartment is a large one-bedroom I share with my cat Star, who is very affectionate and easy-going - she'd love to keep your pet company!
About: Hello! My name is Leslie. I am pleased to meet you and your furriest beloved. I am the person people call when they need care for themselves or others. It is an honor I do not take lightly. I am a kind and responsible adult. I keep a notepad and follow directions. My zodiac sign is Taurus. My favorite snack is popcorn. I am the Aide-de-Camp for the little dog in my home; and she is thriving. My extensive care experience includes, (but is not limited to): Cats, Dogs, Bunnies, Hummingbirds, Parrots, Film Crews, Cherished Elders, Cancer Patients, Artists, and Musicians. CV and References Available Upon Request. Oh Howl Yeah! I freelance from home (as does our *little dog). My schedule is my own and I am available to TCB⚡️ - or as quickly as traffic allows. Per our Little Dog’s request, she refuses to tag along on home visits. She has records to listen to, magazines to read, and hours of The Partridge Family to watch. She enjoys the warmth of her heating pad and the cool of the A/C at the same time. Outdoor powder room breaks are every 3-6 hours. We have a teeny private park that is hers alone (with adult supervision only), or we harness on up and walk around the block together.
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely incredible dog sitter! I can’t recommend Jessica enough. They took amazing care of my two Dobermans — Moses and Pharaoh — who are both friendly, active, and full of energy. It’s not easy to keep up with them, but Jessica handled it effortlessly. They made sure the boys got plenty of exercise, attention, and love, and kept me updated with photos and messages so I knew they were happy and safe. It’s rare to find someone who truly understands and connects with dogs the way she does. I’ll definitely be booking again in the future!”

About: I'm a dependable and caring dog walker with hands-on experience raising and handling my own 70 pound, high-energy Sheepdog, Snoopy. Prior to Snoopy, I had a 60 pound Labrador Terrier Mix. I understand that energetic dogs need exercise, patience, structure, and plenty of attention. I'm available for weekday walks while my kids are at school and would love to help give your dog a safe, enjoyable break during the day. I'll follow your instructions carefully, keep you updated, and treat your doggy like famil. I am currently a stay-at-home mom and looking to go back to school part-time. My availability is pretty flexible so I am able to accomadate your pups needs. I enjoy the outdoors and dogs very much so with dog walking I get the best of both worlds. I prefer not to have headphones on while taking out pets so that I can be present and very aware of my surroundings. Your pup will have my complete attention!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Adams Square
We love having Aries nearby to pop in to feed and hang out with our dog Yukon and our cat Ophelia. They are reliable, stick around to spend time with them and give them attention, and send updates with pictures. Their care is much appreciated and the pets love them!

Christy has been awesome taking care of Roadie! She's on-time, communicates with multiple photos and messages about how he's doing, and is quick to respond if we have any questions. She also seems to have a great rapport with him and Roadie warmed up to her right away!

I was very pleased with Tyler and how she took good care of our 19 year old cat, Sushi. She came over everyday and made sure she had food and clean water. Also scooped her little box. She gave Sushi the attention she craved, too. For the first time in 35 years we have had an issue with fleas. Unfortunately, they liked Tyler! Even though we use preventatives and home remedies, they still found their way to Tyler. For that, I’m so sorry! I’m working on a way to eradicate them once and for all. Thanks again to Tyler for being there when Sushi needed her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy.
