Petsitter and Animal Advocate

Hi there! My name is Casey. I was born and raised in the Pasadena, CA area. To simply put it, I love animals! I foster kittens, had a service dog in training for 2 years, and want to work in the field of animal welfare. I have a soft spot in my heart for rescue pets, because working with them has changed my life for the better. My family's first dog was a rescue dog named Charlie. We got him when he was estimated to be between 2 and 3 years old, and it was a big adjustment for him, as he did not have positive experiences with humans in the first few years of his life. I was only about six years old when we got him, and so I grew up learning to respect the boundaries he set, while still reassuring him that I loved and cared about him. Thanks to Charlie, I started volunteering with animal rescues when I was about ten. Because I was so young, I couldn't work directly with them, so I used to bake treats and bring them to their photoshoot days. When I turned 12, I started volunteering at Best Friends Mission Hills (mostly in the kitten nursery, but with dogs as well). I bottle fed kittens almost every weekend from age 12 to 16, in addition to fostering kittens every summer when I had no school. After volunteering at Best Friends, I started volunteering at Pasadena Humane. At PH, I foster kittens (my profile picture features my most recent fosters). I have fostered about 53 kittens so far, and am excited to see that number grow. My schedule is pretty flexible at the moment, but have occasional commitments. If this is the case, I will communicate with you to work something out (though, on the calendar, I try my best to block off the days that I have these commitments) I am experienced in handling dogs and cats with a wide range of temperaments, and have administered medication to pets before in a variety of forms (liquid, pill, injection, topical, etc). I have a special interest in caring for disabled and/or senior pets who require extra care. I will always be transparent with you if, for any reason, I am not able to provide the required care.

Casey watched our pups and house sat for us while we were away on vacation for the week. It was our first time leaving the dogs for that long and weren’t sure how they would do because they can be nervous around new people. The dogs warmed up to her right away and Casey was very reassuring when we were feeling anxious about leaving them! Casey was communicative and followed care instructions closely. We are so grateful to have found her and will definitely book with her again!

Casey does a great job providing potty breaks for our dog, she comes by regularly and has taken time and care to develop trust since he's a rescue. They're good friends now and he looks forward to her visits while we're at work. We appreciate that Casey sends us questions about anything abnormal or potentially concerning that she sees and is a great communicator. Thanks Casey!

Casey did a great job taking care of my dog and two cats over the Thanksgiving holiday. She communicated the perfect amount, with pictures too.
