“Jessica is our go-to house and dog sitter, as she keeps our doggies safe and our house secure. She has bonded with our duo, and they enjoy their time with her very much. Bella tells me about their walks and Maddox allows himself to be snuggled to sleep.”

“Lisa was wonderful and my dogs and cats loved her. They were well taken care of and I didn’t have to worry about them. Will definitely use her when we need a dog sitter again. Thanks Lisa for everything.”

“Cody was wonderful! He followed all of our specific house-sitting and pet care instructions perfectly. We really appreciated how attentive and respectful he was of our home, and he sent regular updates and photos so we always felt at ease. Our dog was clearly happy and well cared for when we returned. Highly recommend Cody — we’d absolutely book him again!”

“Mike is fantastic! He was professional and an excellent communicator—from the first message all the way through the stay. His attention to detail, skill in asking the right questions about my dog's needs, and regular updates with phots was worth every penny!”

“Hailey was amazing! She shared pictures while watching Sam, took him on walks, and really followed our requests. We felt very comfortable with Hailey in our home and taking care of Samwise while we were out of town.”

About: I started dog walking and doing cat play dates out of high school 11 years ago and loved it! I grew up with two large dogs and two cats in Portland, Oregon. Calm or animated, tall and long, short and stout, I take care of dogs & cats with all types of personalities, needs, and routines. I know dog & cat first aid through the American Red Cross and will go above and beyond to be a steward of your space. I study critical theory around the subjects of visual culture and land use at Portland State University online, so my schedule is open and adaptable to yours. My availability is completely open. I'm currently a student online, so I can adapt my schedule around whichever days and times you need help. I'm a patient, soft-spoken caretaker that allows a new fur friend to get to know me first. I'll walk the greenest routes in the area and cross the streets at the safest points. I walk at a steady pace and can check in with you and your pet during the walk or pet sit. We can play games or lounge around if that's more their style. I'll tend to your pet's grooming, diet, activity, and behavior specificities as well as any household tasks that accompany the visit.
“The absolute best dog sitter we've ever had! Have never felt more comfortable, safe, and secure with someone looking after our dog. We have a senior dog who requires a lot of special attention and care, especially in regards to medication and allergies, as well as very frequent bathroom breaks. Elizabeth sent us multiple updates and photos throughout the day and regularly informed us of their schedule. They stuck to our routine and ensured a very happy pup! They even went out of their way to water our plants and wash our sheets without us asking. So extremely kind and caring, couldn't think of anyone better to watch our dog while we were away!”

“Lauren took care of our black lab and bunny for 10 days over the holiday and she did a great job! We don't normally leave for so long so we were worried about leaving them with a new person but Lauren was very sweet to them and very communicative with us. She sent pictures and updates daily and was flexible with us when our travel plans changed. And it was so nice to come home to such a clean apartment! We will definitely hire Lauren again and recommend her to our friends!”

“We had Chloe over to watch our puppy and our cat. Immediately we noticed her love for animals. She is also very responsive on the phone, punctual and easy going. Our puppy really likes her”

“Dominique took great care of our dog and our home while we were away. We’re always a little nervous the first time our dog meets a sitter because she can be shy at first, and she’s reactive with other dogs, so it takes a calm and confident dog lover to make us all feel at ease. Dominique is fantastic! Kona felt comfortable with her very quickly. She asked great questions when we first met, making sure she understood Kona’s personality and routine. She sent us adorable updates throughout the stay, and we came home to a clean, tidy house and a happy dog. 10/10 recommend!”

“Lee was an awesome dog-sitter for our pup. He came over before we left to meet our dog and kept us updated as to how she was doing throughout our trip. Lee rocks, and I look forward to hiring him again!”

“After recently adopting a 5-month old puppy, my husband and I had some preexisting plans that would keep us away for a long evening, and so searched online and found Rover.com. It was our first time trying the website, and we got extremely lucky and found Cheslea! Cheslea was the perfect dog-sitter for our sweet but still "growing up" puppy, Frida! After I contacted her, Cheslea offered to come by a couple of days in advance to meet us and Frida. As we had not left our pup with anyone before, we were a bit nervous, but as soon as Cheslea arrived it was clear immediately that she had the right energy and enthusiasm for dog-sitting, and would be a great caretaker for our pup. Our initial impression was correct, as she did a great job. Frida seemed calm and well-taken care of-- both in the photos she texted us while we were out, and upon our return. We have already re-booked her for additional evenings of dog-sitting. I highly recommend Cheslea. She was professional and responsive in all of her communications, prompt in her arrivals, and considerate in her care of our pup and our home.”

“Katherine really helped us out with sitting with Farrah for the day. We had plans to be in San Diego for the day and didn’t want to leave our Farrah alone for a long time due to some separation anxiety. We appreciate Katherine suggesting a meet and greet to go over a few things. During the day we receive pictures with updates which made us feel comfortable and know Farrah was in great hands. We would definitely love to book Katerine again for any future trips.”

“Brigette was wonderful! She stayed at our house for a week and took great care of both our pups and our home. She kept us updated throughout our trip with regular messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind and made us feel confident that our dogs were happy and well cared for. She also went above and beyond by washing the sheets and towels she used and leaving the house in great condition. It was so nice to come home to happy dogs and a clean house. We would absolutely book Brigette again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter.”

“Courtney is an outstanding dog professional, experienced, confident, reliable, honest, on time, and she has the greatest personality. We needed an experienced dog sitter & handler for our dog Chuck to sit for an entire day and evening at our house. Courtney turned out to be the perfect Rover-choice, in full agreement with her great reviews! Chuck is a three year old high energy working line sable German Shepherd police dog. He was born, raised, and trained in Germany. Courtney and Chuck quickly bonded. She quickly learned the few German commands needed for sitting and walking purpose. She also quickly learned about the personality and traits of a dog like Chuck from a write-up summary that we handed over. Courtney kept updating us during her sit, walk, play, and feeding. She also sent us pictures. Chuck clearly fell in love with Courtney. When she left he was whining and he did not want her to leave 😀. Courtney is simply the best of the best!”

“Victoria was amazing! She was so so great with our 2 year old Aussie and cat. Very communicative and quick replies. Sent us cute pictures while we were out of town. She was extremely respectful of our home and I could tell our boys were in good hands. Trustworthy and super helpful when our flight was a little delayed when getting home. I can’t recommend enough. Hire her! You won’t regret it.”

“Casey was awesome! I had to schedule her house sit last minute and she was super responsive, on time, and communicated super fast with me. We had a meet and greet to see if my cat would be ok with her dog (which I wasn't sure how he would react to dogs and Bella was lovely and is super-highly trained). She stayed with us during the meet and greet until I was comfortable with their interaction (my cat wasn't a fan but they did well enough for me to feel comfortable and knowing he wouldn't be super stressed) and she answered all my questions. She kept me informed (with pictures) every day on their day-to-day and was super respectful of and attentive to my cat's special needs. Kobe needs a balanced diet with many supplements and a strict medicine schedule and she took amazing care of him. My apartment was also super tidy and clean when I returned. I'm beyond relieved I can trust Kobe with Casey in the future with no worries! Thank you so much, Casey!!”

“Jade was an amazing sitter! Very kind, caring, and attentive to every detail. They were super responsive and kept me updated with photo reports throughout the day, which made me feel completely at ease. My puppy was happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend Jade to anyone looking for a reliable and loving sitter! 💕🐾”

“Hannah is by far the best pet sitter we e hired to watch our fur babies!! She’s reliable, punctual, follows instructions, and is very responsible. More importantly she is wonderful with pets, and you can tell they love her too! From the moment she arrived both my dogs took an instant liking to her and just followed her all around the house with excitement. They didn’t even notice we left so that made us feel even more comfortable. Hannah is very responsive to texts and she sent us the cutest pics while we were away too every day. She also communicated the play times and walks daily so we knew our pets were getting proper exercise and attention. She was very trustworthy during her stay and when we came home everything was in the same order as we left. I will definitely rehire Hannah going forward and recommend her to anyone I know. I’m so glad we met her on Rover, we definitely lucked out!! I highly recommend booking Hannah if you want an exceptional pet sitter and the best experience for your pets!! She has the sweetest personality and very professional. Thank you Hannah!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - La Crescenta-Montrose
Casey watched our pups and house sat for us while we were away on vacation for the week. It was our first time leaving the dogs for that long and weren’t sure how they would do because they can be nervous around new people. The dogs warmed up to her right away and Casey was very reassuring when we were feeling anxious about leaving them! Casey was communicative and followed care instructions closely. We are so grateful to have found her and will definitely book with her again!

Hannah did an excellent job with an 11-day house sit for our two dogs and cat. She provided daily updates and photos, and even some trouble shooting with an issue with our security system. Hannah is kind and responsible and we’d love to have her housesit for us again!

Julianna cared for my two schnauzers in my home for a week. I was so impressed by her care and attention to detail. My dogs can be yappy and excitable and Julianna’s kindness and calming presence enabled them to warm to her quickly. She played with my dogs regularly, provided them with love and attention and quickly became their favorite person! Julianna also thoughtfully inquired about my preference on the cadence of communication and provided me regular updates. This was the first time I had hired a housesitter for my pups, so it was very comforting to hear from her regularly. Further, my home is in an area populated by coyotes, and Julianna followed all of my safety instructions to keep my dogs safe from predators. Beyond the excellent care Julianna provided to my dogs, she also treated my home with incredible respect and left it in better condition than she found it. I trust Julianna with my dogs and my home and will book with her again. If you want someone warm, respectful, and professional you should book with her too. Thank you Julianna!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred La Crescenta-Montrose walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in La Crescenta-Montrose maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in La Crescenta-Montrose choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in La Crescenta-Montrose. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
