Boba and I adore Noemi. She is by far one of the best pet sitters out there, and our #1 choice. She’s extremely caring and attentive to Boba’s need—which says a lot because he is a special needs dog, follows instructions well, asks clarifying questions when she needs to, communicates regularly, and is overall a very pleasant, respectful, trustworthy person. I highly recommend Noemi.

Casey was awesome! I had to schedule her house sit last minute and she was super responsive, on time, and communicated super fast with me. We had a meet and greet to see if my cat would be ok with her dog (which I wasn't sure how he would react to dogs and Bella was lovely and is super-highly trained). She stayed with us during the meet and greet until I was comfortable with their interaction (my cat wasn't a fan but they did well enough for me to feel comfortable and knowing he wouldn't be super stressed) and she answered all my questions. She kept me informed (with pictures) every day on their day-to-day and was super respectful of and attentive to my cat's special needs. Kobe needs a balanced diet with many supplements and a strict medicine schedule and she took amazing care of him. My apartment was also super tidy and clean when I returned. I'm beyond relieved I can trust Kobe with Casey in the future with no worries! Thank you so much, Casey!!

Brigette was wonderful! She stayed at our house for a week and took great care of both our pups and our home. She kept us updated throughout our trip with regular messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind and made us feel confident that our dogs were happy and well cared for. She also went above and beyond by washing the sheets and towels she used and leaving the house in great condition. It was so nice to come home to happy dogs and a clean house. We would absolutely book Brigette again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter.

The absolute best dog sitter we've ever had! Have never felt more comfortable, safe, and secure with someone looking after our dog. We have a senior dog who requires a lot of special attention and care, especially in regards to medication and allergies, as well as very frequent bathroom breaks. Elizabeth sent us multiple updates and photos throughout the day and regularly informed us of their schedule. They stuck to our routine and ensured a very happy pup! They even went out of their way to water our plants and wash our sheets without us asking. So extremely kind and caring, couldn't think of anyone better to watch our dog while we were away!

About: I've had pets all my life. I've had dogs, cats, fish, and turtles. I've also cared for hamsters, rabbits, and guinea pigs before. I've walked, fed, bathed, house sat, and played with pets belonging to family and friends. Having had my own pets throughout my life, I know how precious furry friends are. I will tend to your pet with utmost care! I'm currently working on my master's so my schedule is inconsistent. However, if you need me to care for your pet at a specific time, please contact me and we can try to work something out! How I care for your pets will largely depend on your preferences as the owner. I want to get to know your pet's personality, preferences, and energy leveI. I would like a general schedule of feeding and bathroom times and instructions. In your home, I can play with your pet, sit next to them, cuddle with them, or go out for brief walks.

Kat has stayed in our apartment with Sophie a few times now and she is simply the best! She not only takes amazing care of our dog (so many hikes in Runyon!), but she also takes great care of our apartment - even washing the towels and sheets before she leaves. Kat is an amazing communicator and sends us so many great photos and updates no matter how long we’re gone for. We will definitely book Kat again!

About: I've spent a lot of time around animals and truly enjoy caring for them! My brother has three very different dogs—a Bernedoodle, a Chihuahua mix, and a German Shepherd—so I’ve gotten hands-on experience with a wide range of sizes, personalities, and energy levels. Whether it’s a few hours or a few days, I’ve helped care for them with everything from walks and playtime to feedings and snuggles. I also have an orange cat at home, so I'm very comfortable with feline friends too! I'm patient, gentle, and know how to read pet behavior to make sure they're feeling safe and happy. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, or a senior in need of slower care, I’ll treat them like my own. I don’t have a fixed work schedule, which gives me a lot of flexibility! My availability just depends on current bookings, so feel free to reach out—I’m often able to accommodate last-minute or custom requests. I’m happy to work around your pet’s needs and find a time that works best for both of us. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, their safety and comfort always come first. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and preferences so they feel secure and cared for. I’m respectful of your home and make sure your pet has everything they need—from fresh water and meals to playtime and cuddles. I keep a close eye on behavior and energy levels to make sure pets stay safe and happy, and I’m always happy to provide updates so you feel at ease while you’re away. My own orange cat has taught me how important a calm, loving environment is, and I bring that same energy to every pet I care for.

Julianna cared for my two schnauzers in my home for a week. I was so impressed by her care and attention to detail. My dogs can be yappy and excitable and Julianna’s kindness and calming presence enabled them to warm to her quickly. She played with my dogs regularly, provided them with love and attention and quickly became their favorite person! Julianna also thoughtfully inquired about my preference on the cadence of communication and provided me regular updates. This was the first time I had hired a housesitter for my pups, so it was very comforting to hear from her regularly. Further, my home is in an area populated by coyotes, and Julianna followed all of my safety instructions to keep my dogs safe from predators. Beyond the excellent care Julianna provided to my dogs, she also treated my home with incredible respect and left it in better condition than she found it. I trust Julianna with my dogs and my home and will book with her again. If you want someone warm, respectful, and professional you should book with her too. Thank you Julianna!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Verdugo City on Rover is $41 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 13,802 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Verdugo City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Verdugo City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Verdugo City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Verdugo City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Verdugo City. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
