“Salien was super nice and my dog seemed to really like her. She sent me many photos throughout the day. I felt comfortable leaving my baby there and that’s a hard thing for me to say since this was the first time I left him in somebody else’s care?.”

“Joyce and her roommate were great. Thank you so much for taking care of Olive! My mind was at ease knowing my fur baby was well taken care of. 5/5! Will definitely book again!”

“Me and my companion Smoky had a great first experience. Smoky is a very energetic and very active dog. Videos and the pictures that the Sitter provide was gave me a lot of peace of mind. I really appreciate the first experience. Me and Smoky are from Texas and have never experienced dog sitting before I’m very happy to not have any complications or worries. I really recommend the service.”

“Roschel was wonderful—and she was assisted by two small “elves” (her children!) who loved playing and entertaining Tubby in his exciting day with them. Roschel was very communicative, sent updates on how my little pup was doing- including two videos!! I highly recommend Roschel: a lovely family of love and nice setting where my pup could play and run around and enjoy stimulation—and he even got in a nap! Highly recommended!”

Whether your pup is energetic and playful or prefers a quiet day full of cuddles, I adjust my care to make them feel comfortable and secure. I believe pets deserve patience, kindness, and lots of affection, and I treat every dog in my care as if they were my own. My goal is simple: for you to enjoy peace of mind while your dog enjoys a safe, loving home where they’ll be excited to return. Pet care is my full-time focus, so I’m home seven days a week and able to provide plenty of love, attention, and supervision. I make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and like part of the family. My dog, Milo, is my friendly little assistant and loves welcoming new furry friends. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I provide constant supervision, a clean and pet-friendly home, frequent potty breaks, daily walks, and lots of one-on-one attention. My building has a secure dog run, beautiful walking paths, and a nearby park for extra exercise and enrichment. “Yami is just awesome and Misty loved her and her two sweet doggies! I was so happy to leave Misty here all day knowing she was well cared for. Her tail would wag whenever she went back and she would race through the door to meet her buddies. I highly recommend Yamileth”

“I needed a last minute pet sitter for my new puppy. I hadn’t left him alone before so I was quite nervous, but Sabrina eased any worries I might have by updating me regularly and sending me the absolute cutest videos of my baby boy playing and getting cared for. She even made sure his bed was clean since he had a little potty accident. Waylon came back home happy and worn out! I never thought my boy would be relaxed. I recommend Sabrina for detailed care for your furry babies ❤️ thank you and will be back again”

About: My dog had puppies and I took care of one for a couple months. I potty trained him, had playtimes, crate trained him, and set him on an eating schedule. A lot of people don’t realize how much work a puppy is but it’s a process that I have trained for! I work from home and do not have a solid schedule which gives me a lot of free time to do anything. I love animals and really want to use my free time to care for them. I have a maltipoo that is my own, I clean up after him, feed him, trained him, and even groom him myself by trimming his hair and clipping his nails!
About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was about 10. I grew up in the country, so being around animals and helping take care of them was just a normal part of growing up. I’ve always loved dogs and genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether that’s going for walks, playing, or just hanging out and giving them lots of attention. I have my own little pup now, who is very much my baby, so I completely understand how important it is to feel comfortable with the person you’re leaving your dog with. I’ll treat your pup like I’d want someone to treat mine—with lots of love, attention, playtime, and cuddles. Every dog is different, so I’m happy to follow their lead, whether they want to get out and explore, take a slow walk around the neighborhood, or just curl up on the couch and relax. I work in the film industry, so my schedule varies throughout the year. During breaks between productions, I have plenty of flexibility and availability for walks, drop-in visits, daycare, and overnight stays. When I’m on a project, I keep my calendar updated so you always know my availability in advance. Whether you need a last-minute walk or consistent care while I’m between projects, I’m happy to work with your schedule and provide dependable, loving care for your pup! Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We have a fully fenced yard for safe play and live near a great hiking trail for dogs who enjoy getting outside. I also have a friendly 1½-year-old Dachshund who loves making new friends and happily plays with dogs both big and small. I’ll always follow your care instructions, keep your pup’s routine consistent, and send plenty of photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Our pup had the best time with Amanda, he was happy when we dropped him off and happy when we picked him up the next day. Amanda was communicative, flexible, and friendly. We will be using her again!!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - City Terrace
Can we say concierge level service? Sylvia is just that. The way she took care of my fur baby was exceptional and I can tell she enjoyed her visit. Not to mention, the oasis she calls her home is just gorgeous! Thank you so much! We are so lucky to have found you.

Great experience. She was easy to communicate with, sent updates throughout the day, and took great care of Winston. He came home happy, clean, and tired from a fun day. I’d definitely book with her again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter.

What a great couple they are! Highly recommend! Katia was amazing, she loves dog so much. I’m so thankful to her for taking such a good care of my pup. Kulfi didn’t even want come back home 😂. Katia even hand fed Kulfi, gave her shaved ice for this hot weather. Thanks again!

Madison was a life safer after my sweet Hazel’s spay surgery. I was required to go to work on short notice the day after her surgery so not only was my pup not feeling great but she had never been left with anyone else or spent her day at an unfamiliar place. I was anxious about leaving her because she can be a pretty shy and nervous girl to begin with and she had already had a pretty traumatic day so as a dog mom, I was pretty worried how all that stress may show up in someone else’s home. Madison was very patient at drop off and aloud Hazel the time and space needed to be shy but curious and approached her gently. She sent immediate communication after I left to let me know how she was settling in and continued to provide pictures and updates throughout the day which was very appreciated and put my mind at ease. I felt confident Hazel was safe and being cared for just as well as she would be at home. Definitely keeping Madison in mind for any dog or cat sitting needs going forward.

Me and my companion Smoky had a great first experience. Smoky is a very energetic and very active dog. Videos and the pictures that the Sitter provide was gave me a lot of peace of mind. I really appreciate the first experience. Me and Smoky are from Texas and have never experienced dog sitting before I’m very happy to not have any complications or worries. I really recommend the service.

Javey took excellent care of Penny. I could tell she had a very active day with his big dogs Panko and Boba because she slept hard when she got home. They are gentle giants, don’t let their size concern you. They are well behaved and so sweet. Javey kept in constant contact throughout the stay with photos and texts, so I knew she was fine the whole time.

Roschel was wonderful—and she was assisted by two small “elves” (her children!) who loved playing and entertaining Tubby in his exciting day with them. Roschel was very communicative, sent updates on how my little pup was doing- including two videos!! I highly recommend Roschel: a lovely family of love and nice setting where my pup could play and run around and enjoy stimulation—and he even got in a nap! Highly recommended!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
