About: I raised my 2 mini schnauzers from puppyhood through their twilight years and loved every second of it. We made many other dog friends along the way, including the occasional sleepover. I work remotely from home, so it’s easy for me to adapt to whatever schedule your dog is used to! I travel for 2-3 weeks in the year around (but typically not during) holidays. My apartment complex is gated with great walking areas for the community’s many pets. A public park is just next door with hiking trails for higher energy pups. I also have extra beds, crates, leashes, bowls, and toys if you forget yours or prefer not to haul them around.
“Happy that we were accommodated even though it was last minute. I got pictures of Nala & Nova playing outside and resting. I can tell Susan and Seo Kyung loves doggies!”

“So grateful for Therese being able to take Zoe for daycare on semi short notice, very personable with easy and quick communication. Felt very comfortable leaving Zoe with Therese Will definitely be back, thanks again!”

“Selien is a kind and gentle puppy sitter! Her place is magical for our puppy Ghibli! We felt at ease and Ghibli is so happy when she comes back from Selien’s place. When I pick her up, the way Ghibli’s says bye to her is how I can tell she loves Selien. I’m like chopped liver for a bit while Ghibli says goodbye lol”

“Jonalyn was fantastic with my dog! She sent so many photos and kept Mocha busy and got her tired, which is hard to do. Mocha is usually nervously reluctant to separate from me, but every time we went to Jonalyn's, she got so excited. Definitely booking again!”

“Heather was great with Riggs. She absolutely spoiled Riggs with love and activity. She sent plenty of awesome pictures, I loved seeing him have so much fun with her and her dog. We are home now and he is completely wiped out from having such a fun day. Thank you Heather, we’ll be booking another daycare service real soon.”

“Angelica was great. She accommodated some changes to our schedule, and the communications were prompt. We had a fantastic day, knowing our pup was in good hands. We would use her again in a heartbeat next time in Pasadena. Thank you Angelica!”

“We only interacted with Sylvia. She was gracious and incredibly knowledgeable and we felt very comfortable leaving our fairly new rescue for doggy day care. During the day she sent multiple photos and videos and our skiddish chihuahua mix even jumped into Sylvia’s lap by the end of the day. We will definitely be back!”

“the absolute best. I felt so comfortable leaving my son with her. She was always sending me photos and updates and you can tell she genuinely cares about animals. Would highly recommend!!”

“First time using this app and seriously these were the best sitters I could have asked for!! They set the bar high! I was needing a sitter last minute as I traveled from Utah with my pup for my husband’s surgery in LA, and they responded so quickly and were able to help in this situation. I got pics throughout the day, which was great because I was so nervous about leaving Maserati with anyone at all. Thank you for putting me at ease! Xoxo”

“My dog had such a wonderful day with Jana and her family! They were so sweet to her-- Rocky got to run around outdoors for so much of the day and came back happy and tired. Thank you for such wonderful care, excited to book again.”

“Denae was great! Grace took a liking to her as soon as she saw her! She kept in communication and sent lots of pictures ! I’m so happy ! She took great care of my baby ! Thank you !”

“Daisy is wonderful! Shes excited to see Star and gives her plenty of potty breaks. She’s understanding that Star is a senior dog who loves her naps and chill time. She’s also very responsive.”

“Taryn does an amazing job with Kobe. He’s always excited to go and is worn out when he gets home, so I know he’s had a blast. They go out multiple times a day and she maintains constant contact so that I’m informed.”

“Jae was so communicative and kind throughout our puppy’s stay with her! It was a last minute booking, but she was flexible and responded quickly to make it work. I felt entirely comfortable that our pup was in good hands. We will definitely ask Jae to watch our little one again.”

“Great experience with Erika as first time doggy day care users. She is very responsive with texts, and keeps constant updates on how our puppy is doing and how she has been developing. Our puppy was pretty shy with other dogs before, and was not so great on a leash, but Erika has been working with that and it's been much better!”

“I had a very last minute and unexpected need for dog care while visiting L.A. Kri was available and stoked to help out! I got several photos and Nikko was so comfortable with them the whole day. Knowing he was in good hands allowed me to relax and spend quality time with my family. I'm grateful and would definitely use them again when I'm down in L.A.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Highland Park
Great experience. She was easy to communicate with, sent updates throughout the day, and took great care of Winston. He came home happy, clean, and tired from a fun day. I’d definitely book with her again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter.

Madison was a life safer after my sweet Hazel’s spay surgery. I was required to go to work on short notice the day after her surgery so not only was my pup not feeling great but she had never been left with anyone else or spent her day at an unfamiliar place. I was anxious about leaving her because she can be a pretty shy and nervous girl to begin with and she had already had a pretty traumatic day so as a dog mom, I was pretty worried how all that stress may show up in someone else’s home. Madison was very patient at drop off and aloud Hazel the time and space needed to be shy but curious and approached her gently. She sent immediate communication after I left to let me know how she was settling in and continued to provide pictures and updates throughout the day which was very appreciated and put my mind at ease. I felt confident Hazel was safe and being cared for just as well as she would be at home. Definitely keeping Madison in mind for any dog or cat sitting needs going forward.

Erika and her niece/mom were so great and so communicative with Kuzco! he def had so much fun and came back so happy and tired running around with all his new friends all day + going on walks and different places. thank u again - will def be bringing him back here again :)

Inwoo and Aries took such great care of my dog, Kuzco! they were super communicative, sent lots of photos and updates, took him on plenty of walks, and def seemed like they spent a lot of time playing with and caring for him with their sweet golden doodle Abby too! i can def be a little nervous leaving my dog with others, but they made me feel completely comfortable and at ease the whole time. Kuzco came home soonhappy and tired, and will definitely book with them again :)

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
