“Alexandra is great dog walker, I’m so glad we found her. We recently adopted a shelter dog for my MIL who was an owner surrender, so we wanted her to have a little extra love. She and Alexandra became fast friends😊”

“Kenya is amazing! She is extremely patient with all 3 of my dogs, each with very different personalities. My 2 younger pups are anxious and skiddish with new people yet they were very receptive with her. She allowed them to go to her somehow managed to keep them calm. Will definitely be booking her for housesitting as I know they will be in good hands!”

“Angelique communicates, so far she has been on time, and our dog Leaha comes back tired this is the second she's taken Leaha for a walk, so far Angelique is working out well.”

About: Hi, I’ve grown up around dogs and cats and have experience walking, feeding, cleaning up after them, and caring for them responsibly. I always make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and well looked after. I am currently attending continuation school, so I have flexible hours and availability throughout the week for dog walking, check-ins, feeding, pet-sitting and pet care. I make sure pets are cared for by following their usual routine and what the owner’s instructions are. In a client’s home, I can provide feeding, walks, playtime, check-ins, companionship, pet-sitting and cleaning up after pets while respecting instructions.
About: I have experience with all kinds of pets. I grew up with a big dog, so I have experience walking, feeding, and playing with sizable dogs. My childhood dog was well trained, so I’m used to using commands with dogs. I’ve previously pet-sit for small dogs as well over a range of ages. Although I haven’t had a dog of my own for several years, many people in my life have dogs so they’re still a part of my life. I currently have a cat, so I am also very familiar with cat care. I just love all kinds of pets! I currently work from home as a freelance artist, so my schedule is very open and I have plenty of time to care for and play with pets! I have experience with animals of all sizes so I feel confident in my ability to wrangle any pups. I also have experience crating small dogs.
“Lori was great at communicating. She was sweet with our dog, Zara, and Zara seemed to like her. We had hired her for a walk, and we look forward to using her to stay with Zara at a future date.”

“Emily is amazing! Prompt and communicates very well. Goes above and beyond to make sure we were at ease with our fur daughters. We feel our girls are safe with her.”

About: Hello! I’ve been in the dog walking field / pet care for over a decade (new to Rover app) during my time living in nyc (offering services to clients under my own co. Zen Shepherd Nyc) and now recently acquainting myself with the LA pet life since moving here recently. I work well with dogs of all ages and love to spend time with them more than humans in general. People say I tend to have a calming effect on animals, and cats are drawn to me like magnets for some reason! I live in highland park and love being in nature and exploring all the urban wildlife / parks in the area. I am also a yoga instructor, artist, astrologer, book seller and somatic therapist. I work from home most of the time so boarding / pet sitting at my place is very convenient (and fun) for me! I can’t emphasize how much I love being in the presence of animals beyond all else including most humans. They are the real energy workers on this planet. I work mostly from home and have flexible hours so I can easily fit pet care and walks into my days on a weekly basis. I have a very pet friendly apartment complex, which is gated and walking distance to some great hikes, a lovely park and dog park! I am a quiet and respectful house guest, have house/pet sit in various homes in nyc and La for over a decade now.
“Sofia is amazing with my pup, Keaton — she nurtures his natural curiosity and indulges his love of ripping napkins for fun. He loves her and I love hearing about and seeing pictures of their adventures together around the neighborhood. She’s the best!!!”

About: I use positive reinforcement methodology with your loved ones while I Walk them or when I come check on them at your place. I accommodate your dog's need based on their personality, and characteristics. I think each dog is their own special being and it is important to explore their interests and potentials individually. For walking: during our walks, I do walks around your neighborhood, or take your dog to their favorite trail for a hike for more mental stimulation and physical activity. Paws will get wiped upon request. I like to return them clean and ready for a nap. Drop in visits: I check on your loved one in your own house while you have to be at work or can't show up for your little one. I provide playtime, walks, and I keep up with their training as requested. For instance, I do obedience exercises for mental stimulation. I am experienced with puppies, adults, seniors, and dogs with special need. Schedule a meetup for free! during our meetup session, I will ask about your dog's habits, what they love, what they are sensitive about, their triggers or a behavior I should know. I also check in about any food allergies as they will receive some delicious treats when they are with me! I am a freelance artist and my schedule is flexible. Spending time with dogs on my free time is rewarding and energizing, and I currently have a lot of free time! In my experience, dogs (Specially if they are nervous) do best when there is a routine. When I check on your dog, I start and end with certain activities, and I repeat them next time they see me, that way a sense of trust is getting built between us, because they already expect what is about to happen.

About: Recent college graduate. 10 years of experience of caring for dogs, and 2 caring for rabbits. I love spending time with animals and making them as happy as can be! Currently trying to find a full time job, so I spend all my other free time hanging out with dogs and helping them get fresh air and exercise! I will not be doing boarding, so the safety of my home is not an issue! I have a pet rabbit at home so I will not be taking in pets to my own home!

Pet care isn’t just a side job—it’s my calling. Your pets will get patient, loving attention every time I prioritize calm, safe environments for every pet I care for. About: I”ve always been around animals, caring for a dog or cat is second nature to me. I love to take my foster dog Chester out for long walks or hikes near the Rosebowl or other large areas where he can really get his energy out. I’ve cared for my senior dog that recently passed and so have experience with slow long walks or just hanging out too.I am very patient, loving and responsible. I like to make sure my pets are always comfortable and safe and am always looking ahead for other dogs and people while we’re on walks. I know when to turn around or step to the side to let others go when I sense an aggressive or untrained dog; or just to avoid anything happening altogether. I know if tails are wagging that’s OK and we can proceed to say hello. I am aware about bloat in large dogs and will be sure to follow all preventative methods when taking care of your pup <3 I work full time Monday through Friday. I will be available weekends for the time being or Friday evenings until my foster dog Chester is adopted. Depending on your pets schedule and restrictions. I’ll be sure to pay attention to details provided either written or verbally and will adhere to it fully as well as report back to you. I”ll be responsible and respectful of your home making sure to leave everything as it was when I arrived :)

Highland Park dog parents share their Rover experiences
Michael was very easy to work with, seemed very personable, and most importantly- libby appears to have enjoyed his company 😊 Michael was very professional - communicating with me beforehand to see if libby had any special needs or preferences. He arrived a couple of minutes early and they went on an hour walk. I would definitely use Michael’s services again.

Daniel was absolutely great with my corgi, Ham. He was able to help walk her during full day exams I had. My dog isn’t the greatest at walking as she gets over stimulated lol. Daniel was really flexible and adapted to play fetch with her indoors so she could get her energy out. Ham looks forward to seeing him again soon :)

Holly has been an awesome caretaker for my 8 month old dog Asa. She is patient, attentive, and caring. Her Rover cards are incredibly helpful, and I can tell she is really focused on taking care of Asa, training him, and making sure he has a nice fulfilling mid-day walk. She is very knowledgeable in terms of training techniques and also values building a meaningful bond with Asa. Definitely would recommend her to care for your pup!

I was in need of a last minute dog walker and Angela truly saved the day. She was responsive, arrived on time, and was kind and communicative through out the process. She also sent photos which I appreciated. I appreciated her flexibility and reliability and would hire her again!

Alyssa was incredible!! She was very very communicative, asked a lot of great questions to make sure my Bowie got the best care possible. She was always right on time for her walks with him. I felt very very safe leaving my Bowie in her care. I would 1000% use her again
