“Kenya is amazing! She is extremely patient with all 3 of my dogs, each with very different personalities. My 2 younger pups are anxious and skiddish with new people yet they were very receptive with her. She allowed them to go to her somehow managed to keep them calm. Will definitely be booking her for housesitting as I know they will be in good hands!”

“Angelique communicates, so far she has been on time, and our dog Leaha comes back tired this is the second she's taken Leaha for a walk, so far Angelique is working out well.”

About: I've been taking care of cats and dogs for my entire life and have always been the go-to pet sitter for my friends and family for over a decade. I have a cat of my own, so I am comfortable with daily pet care routines. I have a flexible schedule and respond quickly with clear communication. I love animals and look forward to giving your cat or dog the care and affection they deserve. I am currently only working part-time, so my schedule is very open and flexible. I'm always ready to take care of your pet whenever needed! I arrive on time and follow your instructions closely all while sending frequent text/photo updates. I take great care of your pet while ensuring your home is safe and secure.
“Maggie is an enthusiastic and reliable dog walker. She really seems to love what she does! She is well organized and a clear communicator too. We are glad to have her caring for our dog, Dash.”

“Tracey was great! The key I left was not working causing the scheduled walk time to go over the scheduled 30 min. She didn’t leave until Hud was still taken care of. Thank you!”

“Izzy is so amazing with my energetic pup, Henry. Her communication, flexibility with his needs and care for him put me at ease. Very thankful we found her! Thanks Izzy!”

“Alexandra is great dog walker, I’m so glad we found her. We recently adopted a shelter dog for my MIL who was an owner surrender, so we wanted her to have a little extra love. She and Alexandra became fast friends😊”

“My fear reactive senior chi-terrier mix met Lori (out of the house) and was like, oh hi, like they'd known each other for years. And when we returned to the house my year old maltipoo who usually barks at everyone was also like, oh hi. Will this always be the case everytime with every dog or even everytime with my dogs - I cannot guarantee that - but I attributed this first calm meet and great behavior to Lori's kind, calm, dog-lover vibe. :)”

“Sofia is amazing with my pup, Keaton — she nurtures his natural curiosity and indulges his love of ripping napkins for fun. He loves her and I love hearing about and seeing pictures of their adventures together around the neighborhood. She’s the best!!!”

“Pia was awesome! My dog loved her and so did I. She was extremely kind and understanding. She came through for my family in pinch & we are very appreciative! She responded quickly to my request and kept me updated the entire time of her service. I’m always nervous about leaving my Zoey with just anyone but Pia has such a trusting spirt and i’m glad I went with my gut & chose her!”

About: Growing up I have had a total of 9 dogs and all of them stole a piece of my heart. I would love to the opportunity to spend time with your dog because they sincerely make me happy. I work from home and have a 1 bedroom apartment in Highland park with an enclosed grassy area and a few nearby parks. A day with me would probably involve working from home, going to the park, running errands around town, hanging out at home or all of the above. I will care for your fur baby like I would my own, with lots of love. Since I work from home with a flexible schedule, pet care is integrated seamlessly into my day, allowing me to give dogs the attention and care they need. I can easily fit in multiple walks, play sessions, and bathroom breaks throughout the day, making sure their routine stays consistent. Being home all day means I’m always nearby to offer companionship, comfort, and attention, so they’ll never feel alone. This flexibility also lets me closely monitor their behavior and adjust care as needed, whether they’re feeling energetic and ready for play or need some downtime to rest. Plus, since I'm always around, I can respond quickly to any needs or changes that arise, ensuring they feel safe and cared for at all times. I live in a one-bedroom cozy apartment with my small dog Scruff. We have a fenced in grass area for potty breaks. :) I can crate your dog if needed as well.
About: I've had pets most of my life, I enjoy their company. I show patience and calm and they usually end up liking me a lot. Currently have open availability, and i love to take walks every day. There is no yard at my apartment but a large, hilly park within walking distance. Lots of folks bring dogs. A big part of making sure a home is safe for pets is cleanliness and organization. For example a pet having access to trash can be dangerous.
About: Since I was little, I have been surrounded by cats and dogs of all sizes, personalities, and breeds! I'm a dog mom to the cutest Frenchie (Perla) in the world - I will treat your pets as my own, providing a nurturing and loving environment tailored to their needs. Additionally, I live with 3 cats (not my own) who I care for and love very much! From puppyhood/kittyhood antics to senior snuggles, I've honed my skills in everything from daily walks and meal routines to administering medications and comforting during thunderstorms. My experience isn't just about owning a dog—it's about understanding their quirks, anticipating their needs, and ensuring a happy, healthy life full of tail wags and unconditional love. I love animals and would love to meet, play, and walk your pets. I am a full-time remote employee and am extremely flexible - I can check in on, feed, and walk your dog throughout the day as needed. I have a fenced yard and a pup to keep yours company. I always keep a very close eye on my own pup, and would do the same for yours.

“Sheetal is awesome. She’s great with our dog and really easy to work with. Our dog loves her and we’re so happy our dog is in her care!! Incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with.”

About: Hello! In 2017 I met my first friendly street cat which sent me on a journey from “strict dog person” to “cat lady.” I have since adopted two cats, Bean and Raisin, and fostered more than a dozen adult cats and kittens. I also work closely with an organization doing TNR in my community--trapping neighborhood cats and spay/neutering them. I have a 2nd bedroom that I use as both my office and cat zone with toys if your cat needs his/her own space but am also a friendly home for a rambunctious cat. Bean is very passive and chill, while Raisin just wants to make friends and play. I’m a trusted cat mom and foster mom and will cuddle your fur babies just like you would if you were home with them! I know how important it is to a pet parent's peace of mind while away from their animal to know how they're doing so I always make sure I send pictures and regular updates. Please note that due to my cats, I only board other cats in my home—no dogs. And I only board one client at a time. Rover doesn't give the opportunity to specify this. I can do drop ins for other animals in your home no problem! I work from home and can occasionally have period of hiatus from work with lots of free time to dedicate to doing drop ins and being there for any boarding guests. I am very strict about indoors only for cats given my history with TNR. Also because I'm an experienced trapper, if somehow your cat escapes my care, I have the skills and equipment and knowledge to get them back for you. I don't leave boarding guests alone with my cats without supervision, even when sleeping, unless enough time has passed that I can trust them all together.
“Giselle was great! Super friendly and took great care of Sora! Loved the updates and pictures I received from her! I knew Sora was in good hands! I highly recommend her!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Highland Park
Alejandro was fantastic with our dogs, Juji and Leo! He was reliable, communicative, and made us feel completely at ease while they were in his care. It was clear they were well looked after, and we really appreciated the updates and attention he gave them. We’re so grateful to have found someone we can trust, and we’re excited to book with Alejandro again in the future. Highly recommend!

Maggie has been an amazing weekly walker for Riggy! Riggy gets so excited every time she sees her, which says everything. She handles Riggy’s rambunctious energy like a pro (even when she has to wrestle with the harness because Riggy insists on trying to bite it when it gets put on her 😂). Maggie always makes sure Riggy has water during her walks and even refills her water bowl afterward, which we really appreciate. She’s incredibly easy to schedule with, reliable, and it’s obvious she genuinely loves animals. Most importantly, we completely trust Maggie and know Riggy is in the best hands whenever they’re together. That’s exactly why she’s become our number one go-to walker. We couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Alyssa did an amazing job taking care of Bjork and making sure she had a great walk! She kept me updated with photos throughout the visit, which gave me so much peace of mind, and she was incredibly attentive and understanding of all my instructions. I truly appreciate the care she gave Bjork and will absolutely be booking with her again. Thank you so much, Alyssa! ❤️ — Saphir & Bjork 🐾

Michael was very easy to work with, seemed very personable, and most importantly- libby appears to have enjoyed his company 😊 Michael was very professional - communicating with me beforehand to see if libby had any special needs or preferences. He arrived a couple of minutes early and they went on an hour walk. I would definitely use Michael’s services again.

Daniel was absolutely great with my corgi, Ham. He was able to help walk her during full day exams I had. My dog isn’t the greatest at walking as she gets over stimulated lol. Daniel was really flexible and adapted to play fetch with her indoors so she could get her energy out. Ham looks forward to seeing him again soon :)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
