About: I come from a dog-loving family on the East Coast that always had a furry companion to care for as I was growing up. I’ve cared for my own pets as well as pet-sit for neighbors and friends over the years (including cats and dogs, both overnight and drop-by). I'm a semi-recent college grad and current remote freelancer, so I am available most odd hours of the week with really flexible schedule to stay, drop-in, or walk your pet(s)!! About: I've been caring for animals for most of my life. Growing up, I had both a pit bull and a Chihuahua, giving me experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities. As my pit bull aged, I learned how to care for a senior dog with arthritis, including being patient with mobility limitations and adapting to his changing needs. In addition to my own pets, I've fostered dogs, helped care for a mother during labor, and looked after newborn puppies. I've also pet-sat for friends and family and volunteered at animal shelters, where I gained experience working with dogs of different temperaments. I also take a walk or run around the Silver Lake Reservoir every evening around 7:00 PM, and I'd love for your dog to join me if they enjoy exercise. Outside of those times, I'm available for walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a spacious, fenced home with a clean, uncluttered layout that provides plenty of room for dogs to relax and play. In 2017 I met my first friendly street cat which sent me on a journey from “strict dog person” to “cat lady.” I have since adopted two cats, Bean and Raisin, and fostered more than a dozen adult cats and kittens. I also work closely with an organization doing TNR in my community--trapping neighborhood cats and spay/neutering them. I have a 2nd bedroom that I use as both my office and cat zone with toys if your cat needs his/her own space but am also a friendly home for a rambunctious cat. Bean is very passive and chill, while Raisin just wants to make friends and play. I’m a trusted cat mom and foster mom and will cuddle your fur babies just like you would if you were home with them! I know how important it is to a pet parent's peace of mind while away from their animal to know how they're doing so I always make sure I send pictures and regular updates. Please note that due to my cats, I only board other cats in my home—no dogs. And I only board one client at a time. Rover doesn't give the opportunity to specify this. I can do drop ins for other animals in your home no problem! I work from home and can occasionally have period of hiatus from work with lots of free time to dedicate to doing drop ins and being there for any boarding guests. I am very strict about indoors only for cats given my history with TNR. Also because I'm an experienced trapper, if somehow your cat escapes my care, I have the skills and equipment and knowledge to get them back for you. Our home has a fence with a metal security barrier to prevent little pups from getting out and we have a yard. Our pets are safe and well loved. “Lifesaver. Not only was our flight delayed for 2 days and Loretta was awesome and so understanding and flexible about it…but she had to evacuate with our dogs due to the recent fires/winds. “Albert, Cat, and Trey were so lovely to work with! They were very responsive and provided me with plenty of updates and photos. Trey and Lola seemed to be fast friends and were "patrolling" the (gated) back yard together when I arrived to pick her up. They treated Lola like family and ensured that Lola got her AM/PM medications. They even sent her home with an adorable little report card that I hung up on the fridge because it sparks joy.
