“Michael to the rescue!! Even with short notice, he was able to come through in sitting my girl for the day. Kind, respectful & communicated well through the whole exchange. Would book again!”

“We are so happy we found Catherine and Albert on Rover! Our two dogs absolutely love it there, and they take such great care of them. We love the updates and photos, and the report card they give at the end of the day is the best thing ever!”

About: Hi there! I have long loved being a dog mom and thought to start sitting to give myself and my own dog some extra company and fun times. I can usually take up to two additional dogs to my own. If I am able to sit for your dog, I will be working from home. However, I am not available everyday. This is why I recommend planning in advance for my availability. I have a single family home with a fenced in dog run and patio for them to play in. They are free to be in the house and not be restricted in movements. However, I do not let pets on the furniture or beds. However doggy beds are available.
“Angelica was great. She accommodated some changes to our schedule, and the communications were prompt. We had a fantastic day, knowing our pup was in good hands. We would use her again in a heartbeat next time in Pasadena. Thank you Angelica!”

About: I have been an animal lover since I was a little kid, I have grown up with cats and dogs my entire life. I have a 6 year old goldador who is the best boy. We love to go on walks, go hiking, go to the beach, or go to the park. Haven’t been active as a sitter in Rover for awhile, but excited to get back into it. I currently work mostly from home, with a day or two at the office once a week to every other week. We go out 3-5 times a day with a morning walk, afternoon walk or quick potty break and long evening walk or go to the park. On the days I need to go to the office, your dog would need to be able to be ok at home anywhere from 3-6 hours. In my home with my dog, your dog will be taken care of like my own. Spoiled for sure with plenty of love and activity.
“My dog took to Frances immediately. Once I handed the leash over, Wednesday didn't even look back lol. Frances sent update pictures and I could tell Wednesday was really, really happy. I feel so much better knowing there is someone I can trust that is close by to take care of my pet. Thank you Frances! You’re awesome!”

“Tremendous care and play for my supercharged rott. year old- she was even worn out the next day, which I've never seen. Great communication throughout- highly recommended.”

“Very communicative and always excited to see our Luna! Luna basically runs inside now and I've never seen her so happy outside our home. Thank you so much for taking such good care of her!”

“Yoko provided daytime dog sitting at her apartment for two consecutive weeks. Our small dog quickly bonded with Yoko and made clear she looked forward to her daily visits. Yoko is highly conscientious, warm, and easy to work with. We look forward to booking additional time with her for our dog.”

“We’re so grateful to have found Ryan and Theoni through Rover. They provided our hairless pup with thoughtful, attentive care and made sure he felt completely at ease in their home. It’s clear they genuinely love animals and treat every four-legged guest like family. Their communication throughout the day gave us peace of mind, with thoughtful updates that showed how tuned in they are to each pet’s unique needs. We feel incredibly comfortable leaving our dog in their care—and we wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking loving, reliable sitters.”

“Great boarding experience. Alicia was very accommodating with our last minute schedule. Pretzel had a great time with them. Tons of pictures and great communication overall!”

“Jing was truly amazing with my dogs! From the very first meeting, they were instantly calm around her, which never happens with new people. She has such a gentle, grounding presence, and you can tell she genuinely understands animals. Before the actual sitting, she even took them for a walk at the park to help them get comfortable with her, which I appreciated so much. Throughout the day, Jing kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me total peace of mind. She was incredibly communicative, reliable, and attentive to every detail. My dogs absolutely adored her, and I could see how well cared for and relaxed they were when I got home. I would definitely use her services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and thoughtful sitter!”

“Amanda was GREAT! From start to finish, she helped my anxious dog feel so comfortable. She was both Kind & Excellent at communicating! Would definitely recommend & book again(:”

About: I’ve been an animal person since I was 7. In our house there always been some cat who fully believed it owned the house and graciously allowed us to live in it. 4 years ago life upgraded me to the world of dogs when I started dating a guy with a big rescue pup. My Watson taught me the true meaning of loyalty, peeing a little in joy, and strategic snack theft. I’m also a registered Pasadena Humane volunteer, so your pet gets someone who knows how to handle shy pups, energetic zoomers, cuddle lovers, senior sweethearts, and every personality in between. I take safety seriously and affection even more seriously. If your dog likes people who speak fluent “treat,” “walk,” and “butt scratch,” we’ll be a great match. My job is remote with a flexible schedule that allows me to take care of my 7 yo son and your furry kids. I am almost always available to take your pet home and have a lot of possibilities to visit them in your house. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment in the green and safe neighborhood of Pasadena. I have a fenced balcony for the fresh air and very cozy, walkable surroundings.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Knoll
Helen was great for doggy day care. Kept me updated and made me feel at ease after leaving my dog Goose with her during the day. Took him on three walks and he came back home ready to eat dinner and nap! Sent updated photos and all! 10/10 would recommend booking again with her.

Kiran was a huge help during our vacation in california. We booked a daycare for our dog Leo. During the day care hours kiran kept us updated on leo and sent lots of pictures. Because of her we had a peace of mind and were able to attend the concert. She was super helpful when we were running late in picking Leo. Definitely going to book her again. :)

Janice was wonderful and Ozzy loved it there. He didn’t even want to leave when I picked him up!!! I think any dog would be good here - they have a large house with kids that love dogs and a backyard, but especially if your dog is human oriented. There are so many laps to choose from!

I’m very picky about who I trust to care for my dog, Mochi, so finding someone reliable is incredibly important to me. Yoko has been absolutely wonderful. She is kind, caring, communicative, and so easy to work with. This is the second time we’ve used her, and I’ve felt completely comfortable knowing Mochi was in her care. It’s clear that Yoko genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. Mochi was happy, well cared for, and received lots of attention. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Yoko again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.

Namie was so great with my Coco, who warmed up to her right away. Coco usually takes a while to get comfortable with new people, but it was clear as soon as she saw Namie that she not only felt comfortable but happy to see her. I especially appreciated all the photo updates I got throughout her stay. Thank you, Namie! :)

Thank you Burke for taking care of our wild one Loki! Burke was incredibly sweet watching Loki and sending lots of photos throughout daycare. Our dog warmed up to him immediately, and Burke’s home is a doggy playground with plenty of room for them to play and rest. We really appreciate you!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
