About: I raised my 2 mini schnauzers from puppyhood through their twilight years and loved every second of it. We made many other dog friends along the way, including the occasional sleepover. I work remotely from home, so it’s easy for me to adapt to whatever schedule your dog is used to! I travel for 2-3 weeks in the year around (but typically not during) holidays. My apartment complex is gated with great walking areas for the community’s many pets. A public park is just next door with hiking trails for higher energy pups. I also have extra beds, crates, leashes, bowls, and toys if you forget yours or prefer not to haul them around.
“Angelica was great. She accommodated some changes to our schedule, and the communications were prompt. We had a fantastic day, knowing our pup was in good hands. We would use her again in a heartbeat next time in Pasadena. Thank you Angelica!”

“Felicia is absolutely amazing! We can't thank her enough for her exceptional care and attention to detail. Her communication skills are impeccable, and she went above and beyond to give us peace of mind during Ollie's stay. We were especially grateful for her flexibility when we needed a last-minute vaccination, and she accommodated us without hesitation. Her passion for what she does shines through in every interaction, and she is dedicated to ensuring that all furry babies are well taken care of, while keeping their human parents informed and updated throughout the entire process. We really appreciated the fact that she consistently provided us with photo updates during Ollie's time at daycare. It was heartwarming to see Ollie having a great time and being well-cared for. Not only is Felicia an incredible caregiver, but she is also an absolute gem of a person. Her genuine love for animals, exceptional communication skills, and willingness to go the extra mile make her the perfect choice for any pet parent. We wholeheartedly recommend her services and consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have found her.”

“Yang is an excellent sitter - our dog was happy and tired after an afternoon of play. She also ate her food which speaks to her being super comfortable at Yang's house even after just a few hours. Yang is a great communicator - both before and during the stay. We received video and photos and a detailed report on her stay. Highly recommended!”

“Very communicative and always excited to see our Luna! Luna basically runs inside now and I've never seen her so happy outside our home. Thank you so much for taking such good care of her!”

“This is our fourth visit. Jake seems to have a better time every time he is with you. Jing also gave him a nice present for his 12th birthday, which was incredibly sweet. Thank you for loving Jake.”

“Joyce and her roommate do a great job at making you feel comfortable leaving your dog in their care. They provide regular photo and video updates of Jax looking happy and content. Jax is always happy to see them on dropoff.”

“Daisy is wonderful! Shes excited to see Star and gives her plenty of potty breaks. She’s understanding that Star is a senior dog who loves her naps and chill time. She’s also very responsive.”

“Amanda was GREAT! From start to finish, she helped my anxious dog feel so comfortable. She was both Kind & Excellent at communicating! Would definitely recommend & book again(:”

“Roots loves Therese and immediately tries to rush me during the drop-off. Therese communicates well and sends photos throughout the day. Roots is exhausted by the time we get home, so I am glad he is socializing and plays well with Jesse :)”

“Freddie was so stoked! He got lots of play time with his new bff Henri and was very well taken care of. Will definitely book with Michael again. Truly felt like Freddie was with family.”

“Jonalyn was fantastic with my dog! She sent so many photos and kept Mocha busy and got her tired, which is hard to do. Mocha is usually nervously reluctant to separate from me, but every time we went to Jonalyn's, she got so excited. Definitely booking again!”

“Thank you so much for being available last minute and being able to accommodate our needs! Doggies had so much fun and they are super tired! Which I appreciate! Thank you so much!”

“Seriously can’t thank Haijin enough! I had a sitter cancel last minute and she texted me right away and was able to sit my dogs! She was great and my dogs loved their stay. Will be going to her from now on!”

“Christina made our first experience with Rover.com an extremely positive one. She was very accommodating with our newbie questions and requests. Above all (and most importantly), she took great care of our little one!”

“Muffins always has a great time with Lawrence. He is a very thoughtful sitter and provides a wonderful environment for him. The awesome pictures during the stay are an added bonus! Thanks!”

“Amazing sitters! I was in LA for work and they took care of my new dog Molly wonderfully. I felt comfortable being fully present at work and trusting she was in good hands. These are dog people!”

“Thank you Frances for putting me at ease as this was my doggie's first time with you. Thank you for being attentive to him, and keeping me updated throughout his stay. He was safe with you and that gave me peace of mind. He looks forward to his next visit.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Knoll
Great experience. She was easy to communicate with, sent updates throughout the day, and took great care of Winston. He came home happy, clean, and tired from a fun day. I’d definitely book with her again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter.

Madison was a life safer after my sweet Hazel’s spay surgery. I was required to go to work on short notice the day after her surgery so not only was my pup not feeling great but she had never been left with anyone else or spent her day at an unfamiliar place. I was anxious about leaving her because she can be a pretty shy and nervous girl to begin with and she had already had a pretty traumatic day so as a dog mom, I was pretty worried how all that stress may show up in someone else’s home. Madison was very patient at drop off and aloud Hazel the time and space needed to be shy but curious and approached her gently. She sent immediate communication after I left to let me know how she was settling in and continued to provide pictures and updates throughout the day which was very appreciated and put my mind at ease. I felt confident Hazel was safe and being cared for just as well as she would be at home. Definitely keeping Madison in mind for any dog or cat sitting needs going forward.

Helen was great for doggy day care. Kept me updated and made me feel at ease after leaving my dog Goose with her during the day. Took him on three walks and he came back home ready to eat dinner and nap! Sent updated photos and all! 10/10 would recommend booking again with her.

Kiran was a huge help during our vacation in california. We booked a daycare for our dog Leo. During the day care hours kiran kept us updated on leo and sent lots of pictures. Because of her we had a peace of mind and were able to attend the concert. She was super helpful when we were running late in picking Leo. Definitely going to book her again. :)

Janice was wonderful and Ozzy loved it there. He didn’t even want to leave when I picked him up!!! I think any dog would be good here - they have a large house with kids that love dogs and a backyard, but especially if your dog is human oriented. There are so many laps to choose from!

Namie was so great with my Coco, who warmed up to her right away. Coco usually takes a while to get comfortable with new people, but it was clear as soon as she saw Namie that she not only felt comfortable but happy to see her. I especially appreciated all the photo updates I got throughout her stay. Thank you, Namie! :)

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
