“She was absolutely wonderful with my one-year-old puppy! My pup had a fantastic time, got plenty of playtime, and all her needs were taken care of so I could focus on work with complete peace of mind. She was incredibly empathetic and attentive, especially understanding the needs of a younger pup as well as my older dog. She handled multiple pets with confidence, warmth, and such natural care—almost like a mother. I truly appreciated the updates and loving environment she provided. I would absolutely book with her again anytime I’m in Pasadena. Highly recommend!”

“Rika was so incredible with Shaka and gave updates and pictures everyday. We recently lost our usual sitter, so going with someone new was a bit scary, but she made me feel at easy everyday my dog was with her. Very responsive and communicative and made my little guy feel like a king! Can’t wait to work with Rika again soon. ❤️”

“Charlie had a great time with Janice and her boys. Lots of play time and cuddles. And she checked in with me often, sending lots of photos and video while I was away. I’ll happily bring Charlie again!”

“Ana and Mitchell were incredibly caring with Sophie. I needed a last-minute sitter for Sophie, who isn’t used to being home alone yet at 5 months, and they were amazing. What I love about them is that someone is always home and they only take one dog at a time. They were quick to schedule a meet-and-greet and were very welcoming. Sophie got to meet their dog, Ellie, and they got along instantly. Ana and Mitchell were flexible, accommodating, and asked thoughtful questions to make sure Sophie’s needs were met. We set up a short doggy date for a couple of hours, and it went perfectly- Sophie didn’t even notice we had left! Since leaving Sophie is new for us, we appreciated the frequent updates and their respect for her schedule. She came home happy and content, and it was clear she had a great time. Sophie will definitely be back soon. We even forgot a couple of things at their house and stopped by later, and Sophie was eager to go back inside to Ana and Mitchell’s home- showing just how comfortable she feels there.”

“It’s always been very hard for us to leave our dog, but Catherine and Albert have made it so much easier for us to travel without worry! They truly go above and beyond to make him feel like he’s just part of their family. Our dog loves playing in their amazing backyard and walking in their beautiful and safe neighborhood! They also put a lot of thought and time into making sure the pack is a good fit so everyone has fun and is comfortable! Beyond being wonderful and caring with him, they were so kind when our flight was delayed this past trip. They stepped in to watch him for an extra night without a second thought, which was such a huge relief during a stressful travel day. We’re so grateful to have found such kind, caring, reliable people who care for our pup as much as we do!”

“Bailey always has a blast staying with Frances. I get updates twice a day with lots of photos, which is amazing. This time dropping Bailey off, she didn't even look back at us and was just ready to head into Frances' place 😂”

“Magdalena was a GEM. My dogs loved her, and she sent so many great pictures and video. Will definitely have my doggies back for a stay with their new bestie!”

“Lijuan is such a sweet person. She took really great care of our dog, Cooper. She gave us constant updates and pictures which was so reassuring. I could tell that she really cared about cooper and wanted to make sure he felt comfortable and also had fun. I highly recommend choosing her!”

“Julie and her mom were so sweet! They took really good care of my one senior dog and one adult dog. We had specific instructions for the senior dog and she did really well following them.”

“This was our second time having Cathy and Andres as Luffy’s dog sitter and Luffy was running to their front door and was so excited to go in. This reaction showed how much Luffy likes them and how well they took care of him the first time. They sent us the cutest pictures of him and their dog together. Will definitely book again!!”

“Tatiana provided constant updates during our stay, and was accommodating of all of our requests and instructions for our pet. He came home happy and healthy, and I am so thankful to have had her take care of him while we were away.”

“Our puppy Nori had such a great time with Wanyi! She sent us plenty of pictures and updates which made me feel comfortable knowing that Nori was doing well while we were away. I can tell Wanyi really cares about the doggies and is very knowledgeable about caring for dogs. I would definitely return to Wanyi again the next time I need a sitter!”

“Justin and Athena are absolutely wonderful pet sitters! They took such great care of Chewy and kept me updated with regular messages and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. They are extremely kind, attentive, and you can tell they have years of experience with dogs. They followed instructions perfectly and treated Chewy like their own. Chewy loves seeing them, which says a lot! grateful for the care and attention they give him and would highly recommend Justin and Athena to anyone looking for trustworthy, experienced, and caring pet sitters.”

“Cecilia was such a lifesaver! She was super Responsive and took care of Louis from 8am-11pm. She took him on several walks and was friendly with Louis right off the bat!”

“Haijin & Victor gave me the best first boarding experience for my new puppy. Delightful and pleasant people, a fun and loving pet house, with cute photo updates. Many thanks!”

About: Although new on Rover, I've had 17 years of experience training, caretaking, and loving my soul dog from the puppy stage and lucky enough to see her into her super senior years. My style of training is firm, but gentle and patient. I have experience in senior care as my own dog had complex epilepsy, benign skin conditions, and other chronic issues — so I know all the tricks to administer oral medications in addition to subcutaneous injections. I've also had the privilege of being a Golden Retriever "pawrent" into his elder years! Very different from my sassy Lily, but I loved all the differences. Lastly, this isn't my primary source of income, I just love having dogs around! My routine is extremely flexible. I work from home and currently on a sabbatical — so I can accommodate and prioritize your dog whether it is backyard potty breaks or long walks. I understand each dog has different needs, and I am more than happy to adjust my routine as needed. I'm usually home during the week, and go out for dinner on the weekends. Happy to work together to make sure your pup feels safe at home — or I am more than happy to take him/her with us :) Open communication and transparency are very important to me, and I expect the same from clients. I have a large backyard for easy potty breaks and prefer regular neighborhood runs or walks. I generally avoid dog parks to eliminate unnecessary safety risks. My partner works remotely from home, so there is always extra coverage and support for your pet. I am also experienced and comfortable administering medications.
About: For nearly two decades, my neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to care for their pets when they are away. I have extensive experience looking after dogs and cats of all ages and needs. Not only can I take your high-energy dog for a long walk or run, I will also slow things down to give your elderly pet the time and attention they need. I’m known for never refusing a belly rub and always loving your pets like my own. I am also happy to check up on aquarium dwellers (like my client who has goldfish!) I am a professional dancer and summer is the slow season, so I have flexible hours that can fit anyone’s busy day. I am available for daytime check-ins, walks, and daycare any day of the week. My schedule easily allows for pet pickups/drop offs and house sitting. I am home most of the day to keep your dog company. If I am out of the house it usually will only be for a couple hours and I have a very friendly dog who will comfort your dog in my absence. Because I am home most of the time, I can do exercise and potty breaks as frequently as you would like.
“Liridona was super communicative and sweet. I place a ton of value in communication and she was top notch. We will 100% absolutely rebook the next time we need someone to take care of our doggy!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Knoll
Camila did an excellent job taking care of Willow during our 2-week trip. It was our first time being away for so long without her, but Willow felt so comfortable at their place that our worries went away after the first few days. We appreciated the daily photo and video updates and Camila did a great job following Willow’s diet, schedule and daily routine (and puppy-tude!). THANK YOU for taking such good care of her! We highly recommend Camila and Miguel for any pet needs.

Is there a better feeling than knowing that your pet is being lovingly cared for in your absence? If you are looking for a caring, thorough, and conscientious pet sitter, look no fiurther and book a stay with Janice. My 14 yo bichon/poodle stayed with Janice for nearly a month and came home looking better than he left! Janice was wonderful about sending updates, pictures and videos. I recommend Janice without reservation, and I’ll bet that my Oliver looks forward to his next visit.

I have boarded my dog, Charlie, several times with Marina. She always appears relaxed and confident when it comes to their care. Dropping off and picking up is a breeze. As always, Charlie appeared happy and comfortable in her home. She sent pictures and was very understanding when my flight was delayed, which made me late to pick Charlie up. I am grateful for her care of my doggie and I recommend her highly.

We always love sending our fur babies to CAT. They are so well cared for and loved. We never have to worry about how they are doing because we get constant updates, and they always look like they are having so much more fun than we are. Sometimes I’m not too sure that they are happy to come back home. We are so grateful for them!

Jesslynn is exactly what we needed. My 10-month intact male husky-Aussiedoodle that needs discipline and someone that knows how to handle him. I’m beyond grateful to have found her in a pinch for dog sitting and we’ll be following up with her for training. She provided detailed updates and did everything she could to provide him the best care.

Lijuan is such a sweet person. She took really great care of our dog, Cooper. She gave us constant updates and pictures which was so reassuring. I could tell that she really cared about cooper and wanted to make sure he felt comfortable and also had fun. I highly recommend choosing her!

’ve used Ivanka twice now and she has been great with my senior dog. We did a doggy daycare trial run before boarding, and when we arrived for boarding, he walked into her house like he owned the place. He seems to be really comfortable around her and her dog, which is amazing because my dog doesn’t always get along with others. My dog is high maintenance because he has a lot of medication, treatments, and personality quirks, but she handled them with ease and followed all of my instructions. We also got photos for most of the days we were gone. We would use her again in a heartbeat.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Oak Knoll home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Oak Knoll.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Oak Knoll sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
