“Haley was wonderful taking care of our dog and home. We have already booked her for multiple dates. Bubby was happy so we were happy! She also had no problem giving him his meds.”

“Chris was an excellent house and pet sitter! She gave detailed updates and photos every day and kept all the pets on schedule with food and meds they needed to take. The house was left clean, tidy and safe when we arrived back home. Would hire again!”

About: Patient, detail-oriented producer keeping pups on schedule with meds, potty breaks, and daily updates. Trusted for sick dog care and vet runs. I make detailed spreadsheets for dog medicine tracking. I work remotely from home and set my own schedule, so I’m free to step out for walks or stay overnight wherever my iPhone goes. Pets aren’t allowed in my place, which is exactly why I love giving back to the pet community. I always follow the owner’s rules and listen closely to their needs for their dog’s care.
“We've gone with Vanessa to house-sit our Jack Russell Terrier, Maddie multiple times now and she's the best! She's quick to respond to texts and always leaves the place neat and clean. She also sends us texts and pictures of Maddie while we're gone which we love. Knowing Maddie is with Vanessa while we're gone makes our trips 100 times more enjoyable. She's awesome!”

About: I am now a pet groomer. In my daily work, I can come into contact with various dogs. I know their personality traits and things to pay attention to. Every dog is unique. We must understand and love him. Master basic dog training techniques. The safety of your dog comes first at all times I work as a groomer three to four days a week and am available to take care of dogs in my free time, especially on weekends and evenings. I can spend time with your dog and offer grooming and care advice. Safety and compassion are my top priorities. Please rest assured that leaving your dog with me will keep her active and happy. When we visit dogs at home, we will communicate with the dog owners in advance, play with the dog in a designated area, and play games with the dog according to its preferences to keep the dog active and healthy.
“I cannot say enough great things about Laura! We went on a 19 day trip. This was the longest we have ever been away from our dog, Rufus. Laura took such great care of Rufus. She sent us daily photos. It was clear that Rufus was super happy and well cared for. This allowed us to enjoy our trip. Laura stayed at our house with Rufus, and our house was cleaner when we came home than when we left? I wholeheartedly recommend Laura. She is amazing!”

“First time we used Emily. She took care of our German Shepherd and Cat. Both were well taken care of, communication was great and Emily was very patient getting instructions and updates from us. We will hire her again.”
“Joliana was so wonderful with our cat, Siri! We are always a little nervous to leave our elderly girl who has some light separation anxiety, and needs daily medication, but Joliana did great! She sent photos daily and assured us that Siri was relaxing and had no problem taking her medication. Joli also left our home in great condition. We would definitely hire her again in the future.”

“We LOVED Sonia! Our pup is a bit of a handful, and can sometimes be a little anxious around new people, but Sonia has such a calm and grounded energy, and he was comfortable with her right away. We came home to find him the happiest he’s ever been after our being away, and Sonia also took great care of our home while we were gone. Thank you so much Sonia!”

About: Growing up without pets of my own, I was always happy to help out family and friends with their pets. While more of a cat person, I’ve watched dogs of many breeds and ages, lizards, fish, and birds as well. I’ve administered medicine to older kitties, worked with aggressive smaller dogs, and walked dogs twice my size (I am only 5”2) ☺️ I’m also known to go above and beyond simply because I love animals. I treat them all like they are my own and understand leaving them is never easy. I aim to provide peace of mind in any way possible. At home I have two kitty cats that my partner and I care for. When I’m watching your pets, they are my top priority. Any hours you need, I have you covered. I teach yoga a few times a week so I’m flexible (pun intended) with my schedule! At your home, I will have a list of any questions upon arrival to ensure your pets stay safe and healthy with me. We’ll go over feeding, sleeping, play zones, water, and any medication your pets need. On top of that, I’ll ensure I have knowledge of all doors or windows that can be opened to allow your pet outside.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for most of my life and have experience caring for dogs of all ages. To prioritize your pet’s well-being, I exclusively care for one pet at a time, dedicating my undivided attention and offering ample love and care. 🐶 Rest assured your doggy will receive the utmost comfort and personalized care throughout their stay with me! I work from home and have the flexibility to accommodate multiple walks during the day for your pet. Additionally, depending on my availability, I am open to providing long-term pet sitting services. I live in a clean and spacious apartment, ensuring a comfortable environment for your furry friend. If needed, I can provide pick up and drop off for your pet!
“Another lovely housesit from Celest, who answered a last minute request to care for our pup (Nebula) while we were out of town for 4 days! Celest is communicative, collaborative on feedback, and has a warm, trusting personality that was the ideal fit for Nebula! Celest’s patience and kindness was much appreciated given that Nebula can be a bit anxious. She followed all care instructions for the house and we arrived home to a clean space along with a very happy, well cared for pup 🥹💛 We look forward to having Celest with us again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for gentle care for their pet!”

“Highly recommend Krista. She sent photos and updates throughout the day. She is very responsive and answered all my messages thoughtfully. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We will for sure call her back :)”

“I am beyond lucky that I found Annabelle to help with my pup! We just relocated from Seattle and have had a hard time finding someone my dog loves. My dog is a bit reactive on leash and requires oral medication twice daily. Annabelle took on the job and followed instructions beyond my expectations. My pup was so relaxed when I got back from my trip, so I know he was well taken care of and at ease while I was away! I would 100% recommend Annabelle and will be using her regularly.”

“First time having a new sitter take care of my pups in a very long time and we got so lucky with Kathleen! She took great care of both my dogs, administered meds, and provided regular updates that helped me also enjoy my time off. Absolutely recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of both dogs and cats for over 5 years, including seniors, shy rescues, and energetic kittens. I’ve helped foster and rehome multiple cats, and currently care for three of my own. Friends and neighbors often rely on me to feed, clean, and spend quality time with their pets. I’m gentle, attentive, and love learning each animal’s unique personality. Pet care has always been a part of my life, and every interaction with animals feels incredibly healing and meaningful to me. I wish I could welcome even more animals into my life, but since I can’t right now, I treat every pet I care for like family whether they live in my home or yours. Pet care is already part of my daily life. I have three cats at home, including one I'm currently fostering. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and love being around them as much as possible. I provide a calm, pet-friendly space with lots of love and patience. I'm especially experienced with shy or anxious cats and dogs, and I make sure every pet feels safe, understood, and cared for. My own pets are well socialized, and I’m happy to follow any special instructions you have.
“Avery was wonderful and communicative at every step of the process - before, during and after sitting for our two adult pups. She was understanding and accommodating of our requests with regards to the dogs' care in the heat wave. She went above and beyond in making sure our home was exactly as she found it, and even helped with clean up. Would 100% recommend and we will be booking again. Thank you Avery!”

Jess makes traveling so much easier for us because we know our boys are home, happy, and loved. They're so excited to see her that they barely notice we're leaving, and when we get home, they're like, "were you gone?" which is exactly what I want - doggos who get to continue enjoying their normal lives even when we're not here. I'm so grateful to Jess for caring for them and sending us pics of them lounging in their usual spots. We look forward to booking her again in the future and would easily recommend her services to anyone else who needs someone loving and responsible to care for their fur babies while they're gone.

We traveled out of state for a wedding and Vanessa took wonderful care of our elderly blind dog. She was very detail oriented about our dog's care routine and medicine needs. The constant photo updates made us feel at peace and allowed us to enjoy our trip knowing that Ellie was in great hands. We highly recommend Vanessa to anyone looking for a sitter.

Jacqueline was amazing! Out dog loved her so much! She walked our dog every day and sent me multiple cute pictures with sweet message every single day we were gone. Jacqueline really is a gem! Shes perfect in every way, and we will definitely book her again. Shes simply the best.

Kevin was absolutely amazing. I have multiple animals, and each one has their own personality, routines, and individual needs, so finding someone I genuinely trust with all of them isn't easy. Kevin was incredibly compassionate, patient, and attentive with every single one of them. I could tell he really took the time to understand each animal rather than just going through the motions of feeding and caring for them. He was also extremely respectful of my home and left everything clean and well cared for. Communication was great, he was dependable, and I felt completely comfortable knowing my animals and my home were in his hands while I was away. That peace of mind is honestly priceless when you have animals who require a little extra care and attention. It's very clear that Kevin genuinely cares about animals and takes the responsibility of caring for someone else's pets and home seriously. I came home to happy, well-cared-for animals and a home that had been treated with respect. I wouldn't hesitate to have him stay again and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and responsible house and pet sitter.

I highly recommend Chris. She came in fur the meet and greet and sat right on the floor. Bob is the most shy of the 3, but he came out to see what was going on. During the stay Bob needed meds and she more than willing to try anything. She couldn't pick him up, cause they just met so it to be crushed and hidden in his food. When I returned I couldn't even tell she had been here. Fabulous!

another wonderful housesit with Celest! we needed someone to housesit for us on the afternoon and evening of our wedding reception and thankfully, Celest was able to! she was on time, responsive, and forth coming in all her communications with us and sent photos throughout the night. she has such great calm energy that Nebula really responds to. we returned home to a very happy dog and tidy house. we appreciate you, Celest! thanks again!

Was our first time using Chloe and she stayed 4 days with our fur baby! We were so happy with her and she spoiled him with daily walks, cuddles and playtime! She sent pictures of him and he always looked so happy with her. She went beyond what we asked and came home to a happy boy and a clean house. ( which wasn’t expected)

Cristian went over and above our expectations. Kept us up to date sent photos and just provided complete reassurance we didn't need to stress over our dogs and home while on vacation. Highly recommend and our best experience to date using Rover. 5 stars plus!!!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 15,370 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Temple City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Temple City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Temple City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Temple City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Temple City. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
