“Jacqueline is a little shy in person but she communicated very well on text - she kept me updated daily how each of our pet were doing and sent lots of cute pictures of them! :) She also spent time playing with each pet, and they seemed very happy in the pictures. My cat is usually shy and would hide if a stranger is here but she warmed up pretty quickly to Jacqueline. Our place was also kept clean during her Stay too. Will rebook again!”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was 10 years old and have experienced every stage of dog ownership, from puppyhood to old age. Recently, my dog passed away, and need a friend to walk with 3 times a day 😅 With extra time on my hands this summer, I’d love to share my love and attention with dogs whose families are away. As a former dog parent, I know how hard it can be to leave your baby behind. I’ve always felt a little guilty when I had to leave mine, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust. I hope to be that peace of mind for you and a loving friend for your pup while you’re away. I am a teacher on summer break, so I have a very open schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to your pet. I am available for walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, and lots of extra love and attention throughout the day. Your pet will receive consistent care and companionship. I care for your pets according to their normal routine. You can provide feeding schedules, sleeping preferences, walk routines, medications, crate-training instructions, and any other special needs. My goal is to keep your pet comfortable, happy, and cared for.
“Tamar was fantastic with my four-year-old husky. She has a husky herself so she understood the nuances. She was very attentive and stayed for long periods of time. She sent a lot of pictures and updates. The communication is superb and follow up was really appreciated. Tamar was very respectful of my house, I definitely recommend using Tamar for housesitting.”

“I would highly recommend Laura for your pet sitting needs. We booked Laura to stay overnight in our home to care for our 4 dogs, one of them was a 9 week old puppy who needed lots of love and attention. Laura made it a priority to make sure our pups had all of her attention and love. She was fantastic with all the dogs and they loved her. She took them on walks, cuddled and slept with them, and provided us lots of pictures. She is very professional and respectful. We felt very comfortable having her in our home. We will definitely use her again!!”

Katherine went truly above and beyond caring for both my home and my girls. I received thoughtful updates throughout the stay, and it was obvious how much love, attention, and care she gave them. I came home to a peaceful, beautifully cared for space and felt so supported during a stressful time in my life. She is genuinely one of a kind, and I cannot recommend her enough. I would absolutely trust her with my dogs again.

another wonderful housesit with Celest! we needed someone to housesit for us on the afternoon and evening of our wedding reception and thankfully, Celest was able to! she was on time, responsive, and forth coming in all her communications with us and sent photos throughout the night. she has such great calm energy that Nebula really responds to. we returned home to a very happy dog and tidy house. we appreciate you, Celest! thanks again!

Was our first time using Chloe and she stayed 4 days with our fur baby! We were so happy with her and she spoiled him with daily walks, cuddles and playtime! She sent pictures of him and he always looked so happy with her. She went beyond what we asked and came home to a happy boy and a clean house. ( which wasn’t expected)

Pepper had a great time with Melanie while we were on vacation. She stayed at overnight at our home and looked after dog very well even after the dog had a little hiccup with the leash and harness. Melanie is respectful and a great communicator. We all appreciate Melanie very much and look forward to hiring her again!.

Rene was incredible. Easily one of the best rover experiences I have ever had! Was beyond reliable, followed all the instructions to a T, even at one point had my screen door malfunction and fixed it. Rene updated with tons of photos and you could tell my girls felt right at home! Even went the extra mile and cleaned up great! Would gladly choose Rene again in a heartbeat!

Cristian went over and above our expectations. Kept us up to date sent photos and just provided complete reassurance we didn't need to stress over our dogs and home while on vacation. Highly recommend and our best experience to date using Rover. 5 stars plus!!!

Joliana was so wonderful with our cat, Siri! We are always a little nervous to leave our elderly girl who has some light separation anxiety, and needs daily medication, but Joliana did great! She sent photos daily and assured us that Siri was relaxing and had no problem taking her medication. Joli also left our home in great condition. We would definitely hire her again in the future.

Wendy is amazing! Last minute plans because of a death in the family had us searching for a sitter for our two recently rescued pups. Wendy promptly answered my inquiry and didn't bat an eye when we said that we were still learning about our new dogs. She jumped right in and made us feel comfortable about leaving for our memorial service out of state. Wendy has great communication, sends lot of pictures, and took great care of the dogs and our home. She is a prompt professional who takes each dog sitting opportunity seriously. I recommend Wendy for your dog sitting needs! Plus, she's just a friendly and caring person.

Jessica is the perfect sitter! I knew she was a good fit when our dog went up to her right away when we did a meet and greet. He is very particular, or I should say skeptical. I feel completely comfortable with her in our home and we come home to happy animals and a house as we left it (or maybe better?) Can not recommend her enough!

Wow! How lucky was I to get a Rover with this much experience! Treasure showed up and had a great time with the dogs. Cleaned up after them as needed 🙄🤷🏻♀️, and left the place in great shape. I will definitely be using her again and she is the best rover in the area, no doubt.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in North El Monte on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 15,709 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across North El Monte. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North El Monte walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North El Monte maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North El Monte choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
