“Vanessa was an amazing sitter for our two elder min pins. Her attentiveness to their care and well being was so evident and our little ones just adored her. We will definitely be choosing Vanessa through Rover for future dog and house sitting opportunities .”

“Sheila did an amazing job with two dogs that can be difficult for strangers including an abused foster that does not like people at all. House and dogs were in amazing shape when we returned. Thanks a ton Sheila!!”

“Joliana was so wonderful with our cat, Siri! We are always a little nervous to leave our elderly girl who has some light separation anxiety, and needs daily medication, but Joliana did great! She sent photos daily and assured us that Siri was relaxing and had no problem taking her medication. Joli also left our home in great condition. We would definitely hire her again in the future.”

About: I've loved dogs forever, owned dogs since I was 11 and have ridden horses, fed and pet cats, etc. I am a parent with two grown children. I am between jobs and looking to keep afloat while I job hunt. I currently have an energetic dachshund mix named Lucy. Before that, I had a spaniel mix named Trinity and before that, I picked out my own poodle as a child after doing a ton of research on breeds. I've loved and cared for a pit mix gentle giant who was over 120 lbs, I've sat with two 4 lb elderly chihuahuas on my lap. I've fed fish, cats, turtles, owned hamsters. I'm good with shy dogs and am not scared of tough guy dogs. I'm looking to do stop-ins in the morning and evenings, occasional overnights in the pet's home and walks from morning till noon during the week. I will never let someone else's pet out without a proper leash or fenced area. I will treat your home with respect and treat your pets with respect and kindness. I've had some dogs who wouldn't eat until I sat on the floor and hand fed them. Some pets just miss their people while they're gone. I am there to feed them and give them some love.
About: I grew up with a dog and have always loved being around animals. Over the years, friends and family have regularly trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and care for their dogs while they're away. I’m calm, responsible, and happy to follow your pet’s routines to keep them comfortable, safe, and happy. Whether it’s a daily walk, some playtime, or a full day of care, I treat every dog like my own. I'm currently in between work projects so I have ample time to care for your dog during the week and on the weekends - can be available anytime with enough advanced notice. Unfortunately, I'm not able to host your fur baby at my house at this time. However, I'd be happy to keep them company at your home and promise to leave your space better than I found it.
About: As a long time owner of a working breed, I am familiar with energetic dogs that need both physical activity and mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy. I go on daily hour long strolls each evening with my own dog as well as morning walks with play sessions scattered throughout the day. In addition to caring for my own dog, I've regularly helped friends and watch their dogs while they're away. This has given me experience caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. Whether it's taking them on walks, keeping up with feeding schedules, providing companionship, or making sure they feel comfortable in a new environment, I enjoy getting to know each dog's unique needs and personality! When caring for your dog, my goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and at home while you're away, whether that means going on long walks, playing fetch, sticking to their routine, or simply providing companionship and attention. I live in a home with a fenced backyard with my partner who is also work from home, so we have a very flexible schedule and will always have at least one person supervising your pet. Since I've also used dog sitting apps before for when I needed to travel abroad, I understand how important it is to keep you updated with photos, messages, and plenty of reassurance so you can enjoy your time away knowing your dog is in good hands. I'm currently in-between jobs, so I'll have plenty of time to spend the day with your pups! This also means my current schedule is very flexible to fit around your dogs routine and needs. I have a fenced backyard with a friendly 4 year old Samoyed in a very walk-able neighborhood. I have a dog bed is most rooms around the house so they can pick and choose wherever they wish to lounge.
“Highly recommend Krista. She sent photos and updates throughout the day. She is very responsive and answered all my messages thoughtfully. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We will for sure call her back :)”

“We were updated throughout our vacation with photos and reports, the house was clean when we returned and the animals were healthy and content. What more could anyone ask for? Very pleased and fully intend to ask Delia to pet sit for us in the future.”
About: I've been around pets of all kinds (dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, turtles, crabs, birds) growing up. I've dog sat through college for friends and though couldn't have my own (due to apt living), have always been the classic auntie for my pals' pets! I do a great job with play/rest/cuddle care, hygiene (poop scooping/pee on pads or outdoors), and food/treats (that align with their diets/needs). I work remotely from home, but have a lot of flexibility and so love going out on walks/adventures myself. So visiting other fur pals sounds like it's right up my alleyway whether it's in a gap break between work needs and/or before or after work. Whether in your home or mine, I'm fully aware that your pet is their own full of own history/needs/comforts/safetys/fears too and so I practice having a really curious and calm posture that allows them to ease in. I'm master of the waiting game (you can ask my human nieces/nephews, they get tired of repetition/waiting before me) and so love creating a space that your pet can ease into and enjoy with of course a routine/structure that works for them (which is given by you). I love it!
About: With over 30 years of personal experience caring for my own cats and a history of looking after friends' dogs while they travel, I know exactly how much love, attention, and peace of mind your pets need when you can't be there.Whether it's maintaining your cat's specific daily routine or ensuring your pup gets their necessary exercise and companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. You can count on me to provide safe, reliable, and deeply affectionate care. I am a recent retiree and home full-time, which makes me an ideal sitter for kittens and cats, or a walker for puppies, seniors, or dogs needing extra attention. Caring for pets requires maintaining their routines and ensuring a safe environment, whether I am walking them or performing home visits. I tailor my approach around strict safety and clear communication.I send photo updates and message logs to give you peace of mind while you are away.
About: I have owned and loved dogs all of my life. Attention and love will given to your precious pet. I keep my client's pets as active as suits them while surrounding them with nature and fun. I am available full-time throughout the week. I devote my time and care as an attentive pet sitter and animal lover. 3 daily walks will be provided. I work part-time in the mornings and my wife also assists me with pet care. We love playing and interacting with our client’s pets. We make a great team! I have a large fenced yard and live in a quiet, pet friendly neighborhood . I can attend to any special needs your pet may have.
About: I’ve had animals in my life since I was five years old. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and I truly believe every creature, big or small, deserves kindness, patience, and love. I take pride in providing thoughtful, reliable care and making sure each pet feels safe and happy while their family is away. Whether it’s a walk, playtime, feeding, or just a little extra attention, I’ll treat your pets like my own. Right now, I’m also working toward a special goal—starting a small savings fund to take my children on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Galápagos Islands, where we can experience the incredible wildlife together. I currently work full-time, but I’m available weekdays before 9 a.m. and after 3 p.m., as well as all day on Saturdays and Sundays. I’m also available for overnight stays any day of the week. When I care for animals in my clients’ homes, my goal is always to make them feel comfortable, loved, and safe while their family is away. I follow each pet’s regular schedule as closely as possible—feeding them on time, making sure they get plenty of walks, playtime, and affection, and keeping their routines consistent. I take time to learn their personalities and any little quirks or preferences they have, whether that means a certain walking route, a favorite toy, or just extra cuddle time on the couch. I keep food and water bowls clean, tidy up after them, and send regular updates so owners can feel at ease knowing their pets are happy and well cared for.
“Hayley was amazing! So communicative and thorough in the details, and even had some helpful insight for some health stuff with our dog that we weren’t aware of! We’re very much looking forward to having her watch Willow again. ?”

“Laura was great with our girls and our home! Laura was very communicative and sent tons of photos. Both our dog and cat appeared very well taken care of and spoiled during her stay ◡̈”

“Sonia was great with our dog, Fisher, who is blind and can sometimes be challenging. She communicated with us throughout the stay and even offered to contact the vet to refill Fisher’s medication for her. I can highly recommend her and look forward to working with her again.”

About: I have taken care of dogs of many kinds under up to 10 years now. I have done everything from home sitting or in home dog care to providing doggy hotel service utilizing my own home. I am a consultant who makes my own schedule and in my free time I make myself available to be a fill in doggo mom. I stay in a wonderful luxury community where dog walks and outside fun will be fenced within the community and there is plenty of pet accommodations.
About: I work at a puppy preschool training different breeds and ages of dogs. I have 2 dogs and 2 reptiles of my own, and watch my neighbors cats. Im currently working part time and doing school full time, mainly online. With this I have time to spare doing what | love; working with animals. My schedule is open, every other Saturday I do have to be at the nearly Fire Station due to being a Fire Explorer. In regards to caring for pets in my clients home I would take the pet for a walk, playing with them to initiate brain stimulation, and physical activity. If there were to be specific instructions left by the owners, I would try to accurately meet their accommodations.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Monrovia
Vanessa was kind and helped Frank and I last minute. I appreciated her updates and her calm vibes around Frank. I'm grateful to have another person I hope I can call on to see if they're available in the future when I'm settled into the new house with all my partner's cats and little Frank. Thanks Vanessa!
**Absolute Perfection!** Sheila is truly amazing! We left our dogs in her care over the weekend, and she treated them like her own. We were able to enjoy our weekend without stress or worry! Her loving approach completely put us at ease. She provided regular updates throughout our time away, so we always knew what they were up to. Sheila is very professional. She came on time and communicated her schedule with us frequently. We came home to incredibly happy, healthy, and safe dogs. To top it all off, Sheila was so incredibly kind and even left a beautiful, thoughtful gift for the dogs and a kind note for us before she left. We couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter and will absolutely be reaching out to her again. Highly, highly recommend!

Pasha and Nathan were absolutely fantastic with our home, two dogs, and new cat. They were reliable, communicative, and clearly took great care of everything while we were away. All of our pets were happy, relaxed, and well loved when we returned, and the house was in great shape. We would happily book them again.

Joliana was so wonderful with our cat, Siri! We are always a little nervous to leave our elderly girl who has some light separation anxiety, and needs daily medication, but Joliana did great! She sent photos daily and assured us that Siri was relaxing and had no problem taking her medication. Joli also left our home in great condition. We would definitely hire her again in the future.

Jessica is the perfect sitter! I knew she was a good fit when our dog went up to her right away when we did a meet and greet. He is very particular, or I should say skeptical. I feel completely comfortable with her in our home and we come home to happy animals and a house as we left it (or maybe better?) Can not recommend her enough!

Sara did such a great job taking care of our cat! She gave him the care he needed, including getting his daily medication. She was also really communicative and sent tons of photos! She also took great care of our home while she stayed there, everything was very clean when we returned. We hope to continue to use her whenever we need a pet sitter:)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Monrovia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Monrovia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Monrovia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Monrovia. On Rover:

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
