About: I have always had an immense passion for animals ever since I was a young girl. I’ve owned different pets in my life including dogs, cats, birds, fishes, spiders etc. As I got older, I wanted to extend my career working with animals and worked at different animal hospitals and specialties. I care for all kinds of pets including young babies to lovely senior pets. Working with animals was the best decision I’ve ever made. I have plenty of experience and knowledge. I hope to hear from you soon and can’t wait to meet your pets! I am available daily including weekends and holidays. My schedule is very flexible at the moment so I can tend to each and every one of your pets needs. I will respect your space and make sure your pet is happy. I know how important both your home and pet are to you. I provide a very loving environment for your pet and plenty of reassurance that both are safe in my hands. 💛

About: I know how to groom all type of dog hair if you like. They will love all the adventures we will go on. They will always feel welcomed and cared for at all times. I will shower them if you ask. Would love to take care of any dog. I do not mind picking up after them, that is my job. I always have treats and chew toys with me. I will always be available for them when you need me there. Holidays included as well. Will play with them for as long as they want(tummy rubs included). Planning to go to college to learn more about taking care of dogs full time soon. Will always go home satisfied with a full tummy and with a smile on their face. I am currently working a part time job. I do not work much so my availability is very open. My job fluctuates week by week but will always let you know ahead of time. I have a fenced home. My home is also pretty big so very spacious for any pets. I also live in a quiet neighborhood so they will not have to worry about loud sounds.

About: Hi there, I’m Carissa! My deep love for animals began at a young age, as I grew up sharing a crib with a lively orange tabby who was always watching over me. Right now, I have a sweet tabby boy named Torito. My beloved childhood dog, Pepper, passed away last year after a long battle with heart disease and I'm learning to adjust to her absence day by day. I’m eager for more furry companionship and have lots of love to give!  ° 𐐪𐑂 ♡ 𐐪𐑂 ₒ 𐐪𐑂 ♡ 𐐪𐑂 ° Over the years, I've cared for stray and feral cats in my backyard, as well as cats and dogs of all ages, some of whom have had various health conditions such as heart disease, arthritis, thyroid disease, anxiety, deafness, blindness, and mobility issues. I've rescued and rehomed stray dogs to loving forever homes on multiple occasions. As a teenager, I volunteered as a weekly cat tender at PetSmart and Petco for two years, which gave me a ton of great experience working with cats of all ages and personalities! I understand trusting someone with your cherished companion can be difficult, which is why I'll provide you with regular updates, including plenty of pictures and videos, so you can feel connected to them while they're in my care. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my number one priorities, and I can guarantee that they’ll be in the best care with me ૮ • ﻌ - ა⁩ ⟢ Please note: I only service dogs under 50 lbs, non-reactive/non-aggressive animals, and fixed animals! ⟢ Hablo español. I’m currently doing Rover part-time so I have a fairly open schedule…weekdays or weekends - I’m your girl! I typically work part-time Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday but can accommodate your request before or after my shifts. I have full availability on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. My inbox is open and attended to from 8am to 7pm. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask about my availability as it can vary! I would love to get to know you + your furry friend and make them feel happy and comfortable while you’re away! ₊˚⊹♡ ⟢ For drop-ins/house sitting: If you have specific covid precautions, please let me know and I’ll be happy to accommodate. Meet-and-greets must be scheduled PRIOR to booking to ensure that we are a good fit for one another. As a safety concern, I am not comfortable with indoor cameras and request that you disclose of any prior to booking a house sitting. I also water plants and make sure packages/mail are brought inside safely. ⟢ For walks: I prioritize safety with leashed walks and only take dogs to fenced areas for off-leash play when asked. I work with one client’s animals at a time rather than doing large group walks so your pup will have my full attention!

About: Hi, my name is Michelle. Over the years I’ve raised and trained many of my own pets and regularly dog sit for all of my family. I currently have one dog, a Rat Terrier named Memo. He is high energy but he's a happy boy and has the best temperament. For housesitting, please be advised that I will be bringing Memo to stay with me at your home. If you want to see more of my cutie, check out his bio. I’ve cared for dogs of all kinds, from playful puppies who need extra attention and playtime to older dogs who just need a slower pace and a little extra patience. I’m comfortable managing multiple dogs of all sizes. That includes 'pullers' and/or dog reactive from my experience walking dogs at shelters. Here are a few things I’m happy to help with: • Walks, playtime, and activities that keep your dog active and engaged • Puppy guidance and reinforcement of training routines if requested • Patient care for senior dogs or pets with special needs (including administering medications) • Flexible scheduling when possible • Pick up/Drop off within 5 miles of my house. (Main & Civic Center in Santa Ana) • Grooming (only the basics: bathing, drying, brushing.) Price depends on size and length of fur. Sorry, no nail trims. • Dependable care with the same love and attention I give my own dog. (Snuggling always included!) I'd love to schedule a meet-and-greet to meet you and your pet! I do project based work from home so I'm present and not tied down to a rigid schedule which means I have the time and flexibility to give your pet attention when needed. I have a Rat Terrier who gets a long with all dogs, he loves to play but is pretty respectful of dogs who are not into it. Dogs have free rein of my house. I spend a good amount of time with them outside in the yard, they are never let out without supervision.

About: I’ve grown up having dogs and cats my whole life! They bring me so much joy, and life is so much better with our fluffy friends. Growing up, I’ve been blessed with Shih Tzu’s, a Maltese, a labradoodle, a golden doodle, Siamese cats, a tuxedo cat, and a ragdoll. Besides my own pets, I have lots of experience pet sitting Dalmatians, German Shepherds, and indoor/outdoor cats. I love to spend time with them and will ensure they have everything they need to be happy and healthy. I also have lots of experience administering medicine. I promise to love your fur baby and treat them as I would my own. ❤️ I will talk to them, sing to them, and of course, spoil them! I’m a full-time musician and my week days are usually very flexible. I have shows during evenings and weekends, but I can always make time to check in on your pets for potty and feeding times. About: I think a little backstory helps: every pet I have is a rescue! Whether from the streets, a shelter, or the "animal distribution network," I seem to be the person random animals flock to for help. My home includes two dogs (a senior Australian Shepherd/Pit/Chow mix and a 3-year-old Chiweenie mix), two rescued cats living in the lap of luxury, and a bearded dragon I saved from under a bush last year. My 5 babies all adore each other and love a giant cuddle party! I’ve been around dogs and cats since I was 6 years old in multi-pet households, so I’m comfortable with all ages, breeds, and life stages. My Approach to Care: - Patient & Animal-Led: I let pets guide our interactions and get comfortable with me at their own pace. - Enriching Walks: I completely believe in letting dogs take their time to get all their sniffs in, because walks are their time! - Full Service & Light Grooming: I’m happy to wipe paws/ears, brush coats, brush teeth, and handle any cleanups, accidents, or normal pet debris so your home stays fresh. Mostly, I just genuinely love spending time with animals and would be honored to care for yours! I currently have the entire summer off, so I am incredibly flexible schedule-wise (including weekends) and can work with you on timing and availability. I'm just happy to help! Animals set the pace in my care. Whether meeting a new dog or visiting a shy cat, I never force interactions. I read animal body language carefully, giving pets space to approach on their own timeline so they feel completely safe and secure in my presence. Safety First on Walks & Visits: - Enriching & Secure Walks: Dogs are kept securely on-leash at all times. Walks are centered around their comfort and sniffing enrichment, avoiding hot pavement during summer heat and maintaining safe distances from unfamiliar dogs or hazards. - In-Home Security: I am meticulous about home safety, ensuring doors, gates, and windows are completely secure before and after every visit. - Emergency Preparedness: Having rescued and cared for animals with special health needs (including senior pets and kittens recovering from illness), I am calm under pressure, observant of any subtle changes in behavior or health, and quick to act if an issue ever arises. I care for your home with the same respect I treat my own multi-pet household. During visits, I handle all feeding, fresh water resets, and litter box or accident cleanups without hesitation. I'm also happy to wipe muddy paws, sweep up scattered litter, or run a quick vacuum over high-traffic entryways so you always return home to happy pets and a fresh space.

About: I grew up in a house that always had animals. Dogs, cats, and a stream of injured wildlife my dad brought home to nurse back to health, including a baby deer and a raccoon. We even had gerbils, hamsters, parakeets, and fish. Caring for animals has been part of daily life from the time I was born. I’ve lived with large breeds such as Great Pyrenees, Bernese Mountain Dogs; as well as energetic breeds like Australian Shepherds, Chows, and mixed breeds, so I’m very comfortable with big dogs and strong personalities. Family members with smaller dogs regularly relied on me for care, and for the past ten years I’ve house- and dog-sat for an elderly family friend. I’m attentive, patient, and observant, especially with animals that are nervous, aging, or need a calm presence. As a large, steady person, I’m confident handling big dogs on walks and in new situations, and I’m just as comfortable providing gentle, consistent care for smaller pets. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I structure my days from home. I’m used to planning around feeding schedules, walks, litter care, and regular check-ins throughout the day. This allows me to be consistent, present, and flexible with visits, walks, or overnight stays, and to give pets real attention rather than rushing through care. I provide care in my client’s home so pets can stay in the space they know. I follow their established routine closely with feeding, walks, litter care, medications if needed, and regular attention. I keep the home tidy, watch for behavior changes, and keep owners updated. With my own cats, I manage specialized diets, daily litter and cleaning, social time, and close observation of their health and behavior. I’ve cared for some of them from birth and have also supported pets through illness and end-of-life stages. That experience carries into how I care for every animal: patient, attentive, and respectful of their comfort and needs.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Santa Ana. On Rover:

  • 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
