About: I think what sets me apart from other sitters is my determination, admiration, and respect for all. I take all comments and concerns as a growing opportunity for my own experience and also to better the experience of your pets. I work graveyard 5 days a week, and I find myself wanting to detach and find comfort in another opportunity as well as keeping my original job. I am good with communication and will always find a way to work around my schedule, compromise, while also taking consideration of the owners schedule. I will first make sure your pet is comfortable with me in their presence and asking the owners about their personality and what the pets routine is throughout the day/night. I am a list person and will always make sure to check all the boxes as needed. While also developing a kind friendship with your pet.

About: Hello! My name is Chloe and I want to help you care for your dog (or cat)! I'm available to do drop-in visits with your pet and to take your dog on walks! My home is also open for doggy day-care! I've had pets my entire life (dogs and cats) and I’ve been a sitter/walker before. I love taking care of pets whether they're my own or yours! I love all animals, big or small. I've been around plenty of puppies and kittens so I know how to be gentle, effectively look after them, and give them the best care. I'm confident that your pets will love me! My schedule and availability are always changing as I am a grad student, so this section gets updated frequently. I have a dog of my own and she gets plenty of exercise and playtime despite my crazy schedule. I will always follow your care plan for your pet. I am only comfortable with what you are comfortable with. Safety is of utmost importance to me when caring for your pet. In my home, my dog is crate trained and is never home alone outside of the crate or a safely enclosed room. My dog is a pittie mix so she requires an extensive skincare routine and has experienced minor health issues like an ear infection. I am comfortable administering ointments, creams, and medications if need be to your pet.

About: I have grown up with pets all my life. I learned at a young age the responsibility and passion it takes to properly care for an animal. I understand that pets are truly a part of the family and I treat all animals with love and respect. I have cared for multiple dogs and cats that were my own and also for friends and family. Anyone that you ask can attest that I am the biggest animal lover! I am a full time entrepreneur/artist, so my schedule is very flexible! I am able to step away from my work to check on your pet as needed or pick up my laptop to care for your pet in their own space. I am available Monday-Friday with a flexible schedule and occasional Saturday and Sundays. Since I am self-employed, I am able to come to your home to care for your pet at any time of the day for as long as your pet needs! Depending on your pet's needs, I can be as attentive or as quick as you like. Working from home allows me to consistently check in on your pet and meet all of their physical and emotional needs. I love and care for all dogs I come across, so every breed is welcomed with open arms!

About: I’ve been around pets my whole life. I have experience with walking, boarding, sitting, training, grooming and more. Though the majority of my professional experience revolves around dog walking, watching, and training, I also am very familiar and fond of cats. Currently I have one senior Shih Tzu named Marcus, he’s been with me since he was 6 weeks old and is now turning 13 in August. The love and devotion I have for my pup is the same I have for every animal I encounter, I am very passionate about providing the same level of care Marcus receives to each pet I am trusted with. Currently I work hybrid remote and on site as an interior designer. My flexible schedule allows plenty of time to service my fellow pet parents! Pets are allowed to roam freely in my home but I am happy to accommodate crate trained animals as well. My small dog loves company, he is very playful and friendly. As for sittings at my clients homes I follow all instructions thoroughly ensuring that your pet stays at ease, on schedule and full of happiness until your return.

About: Lifelong Animal Lover & Experienced Caregiver. I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, raising everything from birds and turtles to cats and dogs. Today, I’m a proud pet parent to two gorgeous cats (ages 8 and 4) who mean the world to me. For the past several years, I have channeled my passion into professional pet sitting, hands-on shelter volunteering, and fostering—including raising a lively 4-month-old Doberman puppy. I have a massive heart for all animals and promise to treat your pets with the exact same deep love, safety, and dedicated care that I give my own. How Pet Care Fits Into My Routine Right now, I have the luxury of a completely open schedule! Since I’m currently between jobs, my days revolve entirely around pet care. Whether your cat or dog needs a mid-day play session, early morning feedings, or late-night cuddles, I can easily fit into their established routine. This flexibility also means I’m highly responsive and available for short-notice requests or extended daytime stays. Safety & Peace of Mind Your pet’s safety and your peace of mind are my top priorities. Thanks to my background volunteering in animal shelters and fostering, I am highly attuned to animal behavior and body language. I know how to spot stress early and ensure a calm, secure environment. My own home is entirely cat-proofed, smoke-free, and tailored to the comfort of my two resident cats. Whether in your home or mine, I am meticulous about keeping doors secure, maintaining strict hygiene (especially with litter boxes), and following your exact safety instructions. You will receive detailed updates and photos after every visit so you never have to worry.

About: All my life I have loved and cared for animals of all kinds and ages including dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, hedgehogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, turtles, fish, and even horses. I trained and fostered dogs before a brief stint abroad where I just completed my Master's degree. As much as I love walks and playtime, I am not afraid of the messy and equally important side of pet care. I have taken care of animals with special needs and medication requirements. I always maintain general pet hygiene including baths, brushing, ear and teeth cleaning, and proper tic removal. Whatever your pet may need or quirks they may have, I will be happy to make sure they are taken care of. I just moved back to CA and am working as a part-time nanny and freelance film crew which means I make my own schedule and have the flexibility to not only care for your fur family but also focus all my time and energy on them when I do so. As a house sitter, I am here to provide pet care and overall home care. Your pets will be my highest priority, of course, but I'm here to maintain your home and help provide peace of mind while you are away.

About: 🐾 Hi there! I’m Bronwyn, and caring for animals has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I recently moved to Long Beach and am excited to become part of the local pet community. While I’m new to the area, I’m certainly not new to animal care. I’ve been pet sitting, house sitting, dog walking, and helping friends, family, and neighbors care for their pets since I was 16 years old and first got my driver’s license. Animals have always been more than pets to me—they’re family. I currently share my life with my own dog, cat, and leopard gecko, and I have experience caring for dogs, cats, reptiles, senior pets, multi-pet households, and animals with unique personalities and routines. My long-term goal is to continue building a career centered around caring for both people and animals, and I truly plan to have animals in my life forever. Whether your pet loves long walks, couch cuddles, playtime, enrichment activities, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I strive to provide the same love and attention that I would want for my own pets. I’m happy to care for dogs, cats, and other small animals, and I understand that every pet has different needs, routines, and comfort levels. Communication is extremely important to me, and you can expect regular updates, photos, and honest check-ins while you’re away. I do offer same-day availability whenever possible. I simply ask for cancellation notice at least the day before a scheduled service whenever possible. Thank you for considering me to care for your family member. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry, feathered, or scaled companions! 🐾🦜🦎🐡🐈‍⬛🐰🐭🦔🐍🐢🐾 ( <- Alll The Types of Creatures I’ve cared for!) Currently preparing for school. Schedule is very open so please do not be afraid to ask for whatever you need. I am very flexible and nonchalant. I treat others home as if it were my own. I am here for one purpose and I intend to honor and respect that purpose, and your trust.

About: I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities, and for the past two years I’ve been dedicated to pet sitting with a lot of love and attention. I live with Hickory, my sweet 3-year-old husky–lab mix—he gets along with everyone, loves outdoor activities, and brings a calm, friendly energy to every dog he meets. I’ve helped neighbors, friends, and family with walks, feeding, playtime, and daily routines. I always make sure each pup feels safe, loved, and excited to be here! I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of free hours to spend with your pups. I’m available for boarding on weekends and on weekdays depends on the day. Whether your dog needs an energetic walk, extra playtime, or just some cozy company, I can easily fit their needs into my routine. I live in a cozy apartment with a private patio where dogs can relax, sniff around, and enjoy some fresh air in a safe space. My building also has its own dog park, which is perfect for playtime, exercise, and safe socialization. Hickory, my sweet and friendly 3-year-old husky–lab mix, loves meeting new friends and brings a calm, social energy to visiting pups. I’m very attentive to routines, safety, and each dog’s individual needs—I can follow specific instructions, keep things peaceful for shy dogs, or provide extra activity for energetic pups. If your dog needs crate time, I can easily accommodate that. My goal is to make every dog feel comfortable, secure, and truly cared for.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Beach. On Rover:

  • 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
