“Arriyanna did such a great job taking care of Emma, she gave her lots of attention and made sure that she was ok. Despite it being Valentine’s Day and a rainy day at that she worked out perfectly. She also kept me posted on how my girl was doing so definitely recommend leaving your furry one with her! ???”

“Elena is so sweet and made my senior pup feel so comfy he was fast asleep when I picked him up! She sent me photos and updates throughout the day. My pup recently had surgery and she was so accommodating with his special needs. Thank you Elena for taking such great care of Skippy!❤️”

I love to take dogs on walks, to dog parks or just chill at home watching movies and snackin on food. I’m reliable and I make sure your pup has a good time! “Nicolas is the BEST! Roo had an amazing time with him and his pup, Dior. Nicolas was super flexible with our wonky schedule and kept us updated with adorable photos the whole day! We are so grateful we found him”

About: I grew up on a farm with multiple little friends around me. My parents were dog breeders and I have always found that lifestyle of taking care of animals as a privilege. I used to stay at people's houses to care for their pets and I genuinely would love the opportunity to do that again. As of now, I work a part-time retail job. I'm very easygoing with my work schedule, I tend to work around 10 hours a week. I do love pets, and I really do love walking. I tend to walk most places in general and I love spending time in the outdoors with furry friends. This would be a great opportunity for me and I would appreciate spending time with pets that need care for.
“Elise took excellent care of my 12 week old Miniature Pinscher, Alphonse. She sent photos and videos of his day with her and he was having a great time! I will use Elise again to puppy sit my puppy!”

“My pup is knocked out ! I had to wake him up to eat his dinner tonite. Maria is an awesome caregiver. She follows instructions, communicates wonderfully, and sends lots of pictures of my happy pup playing and relaxing with her pack. I will definitely use Maria again, highly recommended.”

“Jacquelyne was fantastic! Super friendly and communicated often with pictures and notes. Her 2 dogs were extremely friendly to our Teddy and I'm so glad he made new friends today with them! Couldnt recommend her more for excellent care!”

“Giovanna had the magic touch with our boy & sent lots of pictures to keep us updated throughout the day. Rothko tends to stress when left alone with others but he was comfy enough with her to even take a nap! He never naps outside of home so this was huge. Thanks Giovanna for taking such good care of our boy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ & Rothko-approved!”

“chris was super accommodating, taking juni at the last minute, and just so sweet to my boy. he shared pics of their adventures together and he really made an effort to make the day special for juni with long walks, dog park visit, and dog beach! i went to universal studios today, but i think juni had more fun than me! haha. i will definitely be booking with chris again!”

“She was so sweet & patient with my anxious dog. Updated me with pics throughout the day. Very gentle & I can tell she’s good with dogs. Thanks so much Linette! Will book again.”

“Tina really came through when I was in a pinch! She watched my sweet pup and was great about keeping in contact with me. I’ll be bringing my pup back to Tina to watch tomorrow and any time I need a puppy sitter!!”
“Inta and her husband were amazing sitters. It was only 2 days but the second day Appa (puppy) was ready to jump out of the car as soon as we parked and was very happy to see them. He loved it so much he almost didn't want to leave. Will definitely book them again in the future.”

About: All my life I have loved and cared for animals of all kinds and ages including dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, hedgehogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, turtles, fish, and even horses. I trained and fostered dogs before a brief stint abroad where I just completed my Master's degree. As much as I love walks and playtime, I am not afraid of the messy and equally important side of pet care. I have taken care of animals with special needs and medication requirements. I always maintain general pet hygiene including baths, brushing, ear and teeth cleaning, and proper tic removal. Whatever your pet may need or quirks they may have, I will be happy to make sure they are taken care of. I just moved back to CA and am working as a part-time nanny and freelance film crew which means I make my own schedule and have the flexibility to not only care for your fur family but also focus all my time and energy on them when I do so. As a house sitter, I am here to provide pet care and overall home care. Your pets will be my highest priority, of course, but I'm here to maintain your home and help provide peace of mind while you are away.
“It was our first time to take our fur baby to a sitter, we are a bit nervous but so glad we found Emily. She took care of our Zoe like it's her own fur baby. She sends me updates frequently and that gave me an ease. I would definitely return to Emily. 🩷”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Long Beach
This is the second time we used elizabeth, and when you bring your dog over, who's very attached to you and he happily goes in the apartment with them.Tll that he's gonna have a lot of fun.And feels safe there. And equally not stressed when I pick 'em up. It's nice to have people you can rely on.And make your dog feel safe, and she and her husband are just lovely people. I would highly recommend them and your dog will be very safe and very loved.

Maria took exceptional care of our frenchie while we were away for the day. We could immediately tell our dog had an amazing time! She is incredibly caring, attentive, and made sure our dog was safe and happy. Throughout the day, Maria sent us wonderful photos and updates, which gave us complete peace of mind. She is also super flexible and accommodating, making the whole experience so easy. Thank you so much, Maria! You’re truly the best, and we highly recommend you!

Skippy always loves his visits with Elena and Zoya! Elena’s love for dogs is evident in her care. Skippy always comes home calm and relaxed. He’s also a super picky eater and Elena got him to eat his entire breakfast yesterday! There’s no one I trust more with my little guy🩷

Thanks so much Alondra for willing to do 5am days! Jewels warmed up to her immediately. Every morning she would RUSH to greet her with love when we arrived at her place. Alondra went out of her way to cook Jewels special meals and buy treats for her. Thank you so much and will definitely book again!

Mario did a great job taking care of Mowgli. He walked Mowgli frequently, took him on multiple potty breaks and made sure he was fed before we picked him up. Mowgli seemed content and happy in the photo Mario sent. Mowgli was also plenty happy when we picked him up. Mario was attentive and took great care of our boy. I would recommend him if you are looking for someone attentive to take care of your pup.

As a pet mom of an anxious dog, Alex and Sam made Bleu feel comfortable from the moment they met him. Their home is warm, inviting, and pet-friendly. I cannot thank both of them enough for treating Bleu like he is their very own. We received photo updates throughout his stay, along with comments. Bleu has not stopped smiling since we picked him up. Neither have we!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Long Beach commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
