“Natalie is awesome. She watched our senior cat and gave him meds and he even came out of hiding to greet her. Plus kept our crazy doodle happy. Lots of feedback and pictures. Booking her again before someone else beats us to it!!”

“Sofia is an extremely responsible and kind individual who took great care of our dog and cat. We came home to a spotless house and happy pets. I would highly recommend Sofia for your house sitting and pet care needs.”

“Arrived home to a spotless house and very content dogs—Bruce did a great job with everything, including administering medications. Will definitely work with him again in the future.”

“Eunice was great. She took out our pups on regular walks, managed their medication, and kept in regular contact. We’re so happy she’s one of our regulars!”

“Dale was very responsive to me and receptive to the dogs! It was clear the dogs were very well attended to and they loved getting to spend the weekend together! Dale’s intake was thorough and complete making sure the dogs were covered on all basis!”

“Zachary was such a great pet sitter for our 3 year old dog! We loved all the pictures we received and it was so great to come back to a happy pup and a clean house. Would highly recommend Zachary!”

“Tassia took great care of our two girls while we were traveling. Leaving them home is always stressful and we miss them, but she took the time to get to know them before our trip, asked thoughtful questions, and kept us updated with photos while we were away. We will definitely work with Tassia again!”

“We are so pleased with the thoughtful care Gabriel takes of our pup. He brings his intelligence and caring to all of the tasks he completes and he is reliable and trustworthy.”

“I am so grateful for Elise's patience and understanding given the particular challenges Pedrito has. My dog can be very reactive and territorial and has a hard time with new people. We arranged to meet before she I went away and it was clear her demeanor (so calm, and patient and kind) is a perfect match for my little nugget. I very much recommend Elise for dog sitting. She was prepared and asked about any medications, or special needs Pedrito may have. Luckily he does not, but it's clear she was on top of his schedule and made sure he got his carrots and greenies like normal when I'm here. Having a reactive dog can be tough, and I do my best to set him up for success. Thanks Elise for bearing with all the detailed instructions and the one time he growled at you for daring to enter the apartment! He was so happy when I returned and I'm so glad we found Elise on here!”

“Jennifer was great! She stayed in our home and watched our Australian Shepherd for a week. She took him hiking and on lots of walks. She sent pictures, and communication was great.”

“Sol was absolutely amazing. Our Dachshund can get very sad when we leave but I was happy to see Sol step in and immediately be so attentive towards him. She played with him till his heart was content, she sat down with him to feed him so he did not feel alone. Sol sent so many pictures as well as huge updates to let us know how he was doing. Sol is so patient and kind, and truly would be the best pet sitter for you.”

“Given that this was our first time with extended pet-sitting, we were apprehensive at first about finding a good sitter for our 7 month old kittens. Aleksandr truly blew us away and by the mid point of our trip, our worries had vanished. We knew they were pampered and eating well. We can definitely recommend Aleksandr for those new to Rover. Aleksandr did an excellent job house-sitting and taking care of our kittens while we went away on an extended vacation; including feeding them a special diet, making sure to send lots of pictures, and making sure we got some videos of them on Christmas. In particular, Aleksandr went above and beyond when our flight back was severely delayed, making sure to come in and play with the kittens when we weren't able to be home, and checking in to see if there was anything else he could do. He is responsive, communicative, and good with the cats; one of our cats is on the shyer side and warmed up to Aleksandr within a few days. It truly was a blessing this holiday to know our kittens were in good hands. Would gladly rebook Aleksandr whether it be for a longer stay like this or just a drop-in.”

“Sarah spent a week with my golden retriever and cat and was very communicative. She would update me with pictures and send cute notes. I just moved into Seattle so she will be my go to for pet sitting from now on!”

“Ashley was fantastic! I booked her on short notice since I had another sitter cancel and she did so well. I will definitely be asking her on future bookings :)”

“Lynsey took such good care of my senior dog! She sent so many pictures and she is a photographer, so the professional pictures were an added bonus! Would definitely book again.”

“David was great and went above and beyond at both taking great care of my dog and of the house while house sitting! He took care to follow all the provided care instructions for our dog and made sure our dog felt happy and at ease even with us being gone, sending lots of updates. He also kept our dog very active, and managed to convince our dachshund who normally doesn’t like long walks to go on multiple very long walks in the nice weather! On the house side, he took great care of the place, keeping it clean and tidy, and easily handling things that came up, such as cleaning up and resolving a leak in our kitchen.”

“This is the second time Gerald has taken care of my two dogs age 15 and 6. He is very caring with them and sends me lots of pics. The house was left in perfect condition for my return and I have no hesitation in recommending him.”

Emily took great care of Fisher over the weekend! She sent lots of updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. She was also super easy to coordinate with and made the whole process seamless. Fisher was happy and well cared for, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.

Elianna took incredible care of our dog and our home while we were gone for a long weekend! She kept us up to date and was a champ dealing with the chaos of us not having service/handling package etc. It’s been a challenge finding a reliable Rover sitter but SO thankful we found her. 💕 Pheebs is excited to see you again in a couple of weeks!

Cameron went above and beyond when cat sitting for me. He watched over my two cats while I was away for two weeks. He visited the cats twice daily and sent me frequent updates and photos. The house was just as clean as I left it when I returned. One of my cats was refusing to take his pills, so Cameron went out of his way to suggest alternative pill pockets which my cat ended up liking. I’d be happy to hire Cameron again

The best sitter on Rover. Sam was wonderful with my boy, and she sent me several videos and pictures throughout the day to make sure I knew he was doing well. She also made sure he got his medication on time. I was truly able to step away and feel relaxed knowing he was so well taken care of.

Meira is a true dog person. My dog adores her, trusts her, and is enthusiastic to be with her -- which is really what you want when you have to leave your furry family member with a sitter! Meira has a ton of dog experience, asks great questions about my preferences (and our dog's), and treats your pooch as a family member. Your pet will be loved and snuggled and stimulated and in very good hands.

We are so grateful to Jasmine for taking care of our two senior cats, who usually suffer from travel anxiety. She was a fantastic communicator and an excellent houseguest. Best of all, she took such great care of our cats that we came home to two happy, healthy, and relaxed pets.

This was our second stay, and it was just as wonderful as the first. She took amazing care of my senior dog, was incredibly patient and communicative, and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable. She also left my home clean and tidy. We’d absolutely book again!

Lynsey is AMAZING! She took great care of my senior (15+) gal and sent the best updates! She is conscientious, kind, and really good with details. My pup bonded with her right away and I felt at ease to truly relax while I was on vacation. She also took great care of my place and even made some small adjustments to make food and water more accessible so my senior girl wouldn’t strain her hips so much. Loved coming home today and finding my pup relaxed and energetic. Lynsey’s care is unmatched! She’s an absolute gem!

Josh was an amazing sitter for our dog Jack! It was 4th of July weekend and Josh made sure that Jack was comfortable and well cared for, especially during the fireworks. He kept me updated often and sent pictures each day! Jack loved him and we would definitely book with Josh again.

Bill was so attentive and communicative! He handled the pups with care and gave them extra attention and reassurance during the fireworks for the 4th. We are so thankful he was confident and comfortable navigating the anxious pups with every popping sound! The house was in great shape when we returned, too. I would definitely recommend him for your pets!

Cassandra always does such a great job with our boys. We never feel like we have to consistently check in because we know she’s so on top of everything. She gives our pups many consistent walks and you can tell she pays attention and cares about their needs - like anxiety with fireworks.
Marisa did such an excellent job taking care of our fur babies! We had a last minute situation with Peaches who went to the ER the night before our scheduled trip and Marisa was super responsive and flexible. She was able to give Peaches her scheduled medication, and was able to take care of some pee accidents. Marisa did above and beyond and cleaned everything! Peaches was also nervous at first, and Marisa was able to adjust to her nerves and made her feel at ease. All that and was also able to take care of our little chihuahua Bantay. Marisa was also very good at keeping me updated. I’m so happy with Marisa and will definitely rehire and recommend everyone to do the same! ❤️

FAQs for House Sitting - Seattle
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Seattle on Rover is $59.92 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 8,432 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Seattle. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Seattle walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Seattle maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Seattle choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
