“This is my second time using Evelyn, and she’s easily become my go-to-house sitter! She takes such special care of my Millie and keeps the house neat and tidy upon my return. Highly Recommend her!”

“Alex was the perfect weekend buddy for our two pitbull mixes. They showed up right on time for the meet and greet, and seemed happy and patient to be around the dogs. During the pet sitting, we received several updates and dog photos which we always appreciate. We came back to our home exactly how we had left it. We would definitely book Alex again, and would recommend them to others as well!”

“Great as always. Got lots of updates. Dogs were happy and healthy when I got back. The house looked the same as I left it. John sent many pics and texts to let me know they were doing well.”

“We had a fantastic experience with Brandi as our Rover dog watcher. From the start, she was communicative, reliable, and clearly passionate about caring for dogs. She took the time to understand our dog’s routine, personality, and any special needs, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. Throughout the stay, Brandi kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which we really appreciated. It was clear our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. When we returned, everything was in great shape and our dog was relaxed and content—a true sign of excellent care. We would absolutely trust Brandi again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring dog sitter!”

“Kristen is absolutely AMAZING! She cared for my 2 Iggys, and 2 Abyssinian cats while we were on vacation. I swear they had more fun with her, than they do on the daily. Such a delight! I highly recommend Kristen to care for your loved ones.”

“Jennefer house-sat our 3 month old puppy for an evening while we were out for an appointment. She was very attentative and respectful of our puppy's needs which are very specific with her being so young and not fully house trained. Our puppy took a liking to her immediately and spent the whole time either playing with her or napping on the couch with her head on Jennefer's lap. The constant photo and video updates gave us plenty of reassurance and peace of mind.”

“★★★★★ Jisu was absolutely amazing! She stayed at our home to watch our two dogs and took such great care of them. We came back to happy pups and a spotless house. She sent regular updates, was super reliable, and clearly treated our dogs like her own. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter!”

“Stephanie is responsible and caring with our large, reactive dog. She helps us feel comfortable leaving him, and we know that we will come back to a relaxed and tired pup. She takes him to Sniffspots, throws the ball, and cuddles with him. We trust Stephanie's attentive nature.”

“Grace took great care of Astro and our house. She kept us up to date on how he was doing and was very responsive to our communications. We would definitely have her watch Astro again.”

“Another great booking Natalia! She pet and house sit for us for a week. My dogs and cat adore her. She went above and beyond (as always) and met with me in advance of our trip so I could go over some changes to the care for our pets. She sent updates and photos everyday and I always felt at ease knowing my fur babies are in good hands. 🫶”

“Brandy is awesome!! It was my first time using a Rover and Brandy made the experience so easy and great. Got lots of pictures of my dogs looking very happy and loved on. Will happily work with her again in the future. Thanks Brandy!”

Briana was amazing! She agreed to come by for a short visit before the booked time to meet George and get a walkthrough of his needs and the space, she was super friendly and kind and listened to my rambling list of things to know to take care of George. While I was gone, she sent frequent updates with pictures and descriptions of how he’d been and how they’d played together. George was happy and healthy when I came home and I’m so grateful that she kept him company and took care of him.

Chase was a fantastic sitter for our anxious Boxer Duke. We had a last-minute request, and her communication and accommodation were top notch. Our meet and greet the day of was effortless and comfortable, with Chase asking all the right questions and immediately bonding with our boy. We had to leave before her arrival, and she updated us both when she arrived and before she left.

Brendan was an absolute rockstar with our Siberian Husky, Loki! We had been searching for over 6 months to find the perfect match, and Brendan exceeded every expectation. He was immaculate, professional, and clearly loves dogs. From the detailed daily updates, we could tell Loki had a fantastic 4th of July stay. Brendan started the day with an early morning walk, handled breakfast and playtime, took him on a big trail loop walk, and kept up multiple outings throughout the day (including a shorter one in the afternoon). He even gave Loki his fireworks medication proactively and planned a final potty break before heading out—such thoughtful care during a stressful holiday for pups! Beyond the excellent dog care, Brendan went above and beyond by washing the sheets, making the bed, and leaving the house looking spotless. (And no worries about those fitted sheet folding skills—haha—we appreciated it so much!) Everything was perfect when we returned. We’re already looking forward to having Brendan watch Loki again at the end of the month. If you’re in the area and need a reliable, caring sitter who truly gets it, book Brendan without hesitation. He’s a gem! Highly recommend

Not only was Emily respectful, neat, and attentive with our home, but more importantly, she took exceptional care of Buzzy while we were away. It was clear from the start that she genuinely cared about his well-being and made sure he was comfortable, happy, and well looked after. We especially appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time away knowing Buzzy was in great hands. Emily was reliable, communicative, and went above and beyond our expectations. We returned to a spotless home and a happy, healthy dog. We would not hesitate to have Emily house and dog sit for us again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter.

We ADORE Kayleigh. She is consistently the most caring caregiver we could ask for. She meets our pets’ unique needs, including a senior dog, our finicky saltwater fish, etc. Kayleigh is a gem who is truly interested in our animals, our house, and any possible way she can help. We cannot speak more highly of this woman. Thank you thank you!!

Katie was seriously the best. 🥹 It was so clear how much she genuinely loved spending time with Indi, and that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She kept us updated, gave Indi so much love and attention, and treated her like she was her own. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, which says everything. You can tell Katie truly loves animals, and we’re so grateful we found her. Looking forward to rebooking again in a heartbeat and honestly can’t recommend her enough. Thank you, Katie! ❤️

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Renton on Rover is $50.53 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Renton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Renton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Renton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
