“April was great with my cat who is a scared of just about everyone. I had to go out of town for work and she was able to check in on him, which he clearly loved from the lookof the photos! You’re a life saver, thank you! I will certainly be using April again when I need someone to check in on him.”

About: Pets have been my life ever since I was five years old. I wasn't a caretaker at that age, but I've fostered a close connection and understanding towards pets ever since. As I got older, my responsibilities grew in kind, and I became much more involved in the day-to-day care of dogs and cats. I've been fortunate to be a part of six dogs lives, and each have brought different temperaments, attitudes, and energy levels. Four of the six were rescues, so I understand the patience and attentiveness needed to properly address their needs and quirks. I also helped raise a 10 week old puppy into adulthood, so I am very familiar with what it takes to handle the stubbornness and energy of a young pup. While it's been some time since my cat has passed away, I likewise share a similar understanding to their needs and socialization. It requires a different approach than a dog but I am happy to adapt to the pet at hand and ensure they receive the best care possible. I have returned from a term of service abroad in the Peace Corps, and am currently searching for employment as I settle back in the states. I will be living in Washington for the time being before I set off to grad school. As such, my schedule is fairly open for dog walking and check-ins. Some of my fondest memories abroad was walking around the countryside in my spare time, so I'm excited to continue that here with some new friends! I will ensure that the pets' needs are addressed in full with the client before I take on the service, and adhere to the directions advised. I cannot currently board pets at my home, but I am happy to check in on pets whilst abiding by the rules of my client's homes.

“Lynn is reliable and a great communicator. I feel like my cats are in good hands when she comes for check-in visits and recently I had an unexpected need to extend my trip and Lynn was flexible asked helped me out with a modification and a couple extra visits.”

“Grace is fantastic, they were timely and very sweet to the dogs. She even pick up the stuffing from the toy one of the dogs had pulled out. We will absolutely work with Grace again.”

“Kseniia watched our three kitties while we were out of town for a couple of days, and we couldn’t have been happier with her care! She did a great job communicating with us each day, letting us know when she would be arriving and sending us photos and updates. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our kitties were well taken care of and having a great time with her. We also really appreciated that she lived close by, which gave us extra reassurance in case of any unexpected emergencies or if she was needed quickly. We’re grateful to Kseniia for taking such great care of our precious kitties while we were away. We would definitely use her again and highly recommend her!”

“5 stars again for Kizzie! I hire Kizzie every time I need to leave town because I am 100% confident that my cats are in good hands. The updates are good, the care is good, the communication is good, 10/10.”

About: I have a deep sense of responsibility when it comes to caring for pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I’ve been watching friends’ dogs for over 5 years and also have a 3-year-old cat myself. I understand how stressful it can feel to leave your pet behind, so I aim to create a calm, loving, and safe environment while you’re away. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, walks, or just quiet companionship, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at. I work from home most days and that allows me to visit your home at your desired time. If needed, I’m available as early as 6 AM and as late as 8 PM. I have a separate space in my house where I can watch pets if needed. I have a large, fenced backyard for dogs and cat trees with toys for cats.
About: Hi there my name is Katie and I’ve been pet sitting/ housesitting for about 8 years now. I love what I do and I go above and beyond when it comes to taking care of your pet(s) and home. Not only do I provide top quality care and lots of cuddles and love for your pet(s) but I also bring in packages and mail, do walks, water any plants, take trash and recycle out to the curb, give plenty of updates with pictures if requested, and finally I will leave your home better, than when I first arrived. Im still available for housesitting this Christmas and I’m still available for housecalls so I would reach out soon to make sure that your home base is covered while you are away! Thank you to everyone ☺️ I will have the capability to work around the needs and wants that you have for your animals because I’m self employed with the ability to design my own schedule. I’ve been doing this for a long time and one thing I know is to go by the comfort level of the pets. Lots of times I’ve worked with rescue dogs who have a hard time meeting new people. In cases like those I follow the dogs lead. I am in their space, therefore trust must be built, some more slowly but in the end, I aim to keep everyone safe and happy.
“I'm so thankful Nhu is one of our regulars. She's been so helpful and really cares about my pups. Recently I asked for a very last minute drop-in visit when my pup got sick--she was so accommodating and made it work into her schedule, stayed longer than she needed to, and even cleaned up his accidents. She provides updates after her drop-in visits which I really appreciate as well :) Thanks Nhu!”

“Rachel has been an amazing sitter for my 2 kitties. She takes great care of them and even goes the extra mile to make sure their environment is always clean. My go-to and highly recommend!”

“Xiaotong was great! She was very responsive and reliable. We appreciated that she was able to come for a meet and greet at the last minute and then took good care of our cats when we were gone.”

About: For 2 years I worked as a veterinary assistant and after moving to Pullman to continue my education in animal care I gained experience in grooming, boarding and elderly care. I have just moved to Renton and am in-between jobs. I use rover as a second job when I do have a job but as of right now I am open for care fulltime. Often times owners will provide me with a strict set of guidelines to be followed with there pet. I will always follow these to a T as owners know there pet best. I'm trained to recognize signs and symptoms of common illnesses and am certified in Animal CPR and recovery analysis. It is my top priority to make sure your pet is healthy and happy under my care.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Renton
Katelyn was great! She came last minute on a holiday weekend and took excellent care of my senior lady. She followed all of the care instructions to the letter and provided plenty of updates, was on time, and even managed to coax my shy kitty out for some treats and pets. Highly recommend her as a sitter!

Aidan was wonderful with our cats, Milo and Lilah. Aidan went above and beyond taking care of them, spent good time playing with them, keeping them company, and checking on their well-being. Aidan's communication was excellent and they followed all instructions perfectly. We highly recommend Aidan and will definitely book again in the future!

Kizzie always does an incredible job with our cats. We have cats with digestive issues, when that needs medicine each feeding, and an elderly cat. Not only does Kizzie take great care of their needs, but she will often go above and beyond. Highly recommend for anyone needing pet care.

Rachel is always THE BEST. When our schedules did not align I had to get another Rover person to visit the cats for one day (before Rachel could take over the subsequent days) and I clutched my pearls the whole time. Felt a lot better once she took over. Kitties were in competent and compassionate hands.

Hayley was an excellent sitter for my cat! I’m always nervous when I’m away, but Hayley’s communication and photo updates really put my anxiety at ease. She was punctual, clean, and did a great job administering my cat’s medicine. She used the remaining appointment time to play with my cat, so she was nice and tuckered out by the time I got home. I would 100% recommend her services!

Our cats loved Shuyao! She was so great at connecting with our cat who is really shy and doesn’t eat treats from strangers and somehow Shuyao was able to give her treats and make friends with her! Shuyao sent us really sweet pictures of them and took great care. Thank you again, Shuyao!!

We’ve used Kaelyn multiple times for drop-ins with our two cats. We’ll continue to book her every time we can! Kaelyn excels at photos and updates to let you know your fur family is doing fine, which takes so much stress off of being away from home. She’s the best.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
