“Lena and her family were the best. I did a meet and greet first and her house was spotless, everyone was friendly and my dog Juliet seemed very comfortable. During the stay, Lena sent us pictures and updates and we were happy to see how well Juliet was doing. Communication overall was great and Huliet came home happy. We will definitely book Lena again.”

“Always kind and responsive! Had to add two different eye drops to our dogs routine right before visit. They were amenable and easy to work around our last minute change to her care.”

“She was amazing! She was so sweet to clean the litter box and litter genie. She also was very responsive and timely with photos of my Frubbles 🥰. My cat was so calm around her.”

“Bruce and Wayne came back very happy, and Akiko was very accommodating with my drop off/ pick up times and took very good care of my dogs. Highly recommend, will use her again for any future trips!”

“Our dog always has the best time with Lance! Toffee comes home so happy everytime! He looks like he’s pupped out after playing with all the dogs and enjoying his stay! Highly recommend Lance!”

“Mckenna was absolutely the best! I felt reassured knowing my dog Sebastian was in good hands. Thank you for being kind, communicative, and keeping me in the loop with daily updates, especially daily Sebastian photos! 🐶 I’m really happy to hear he made new Shih Tzu friends as well. Sebbie and Ollie and Jaxx forever! Thank you for providing a safe and welcoming environment for my dearest pup. Thanks again for everything - I hope to stay in touch for future bookings on Rover. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“Jiwon is always so amazing with my boy Phil! I love getting his photo and video updates! You can tell how much Phil is comfortable with her based on how he's sprawled out or smiling! Thank you so much, Jiwon, for being our Go-To caretaker for my furbaby Phil.”

“Ellen and Larry welcomed Chicken into their home with open paws. They are easy to talk to and loving to animals. I feel lucky to have found them! Chicken says thank you for an excellent holiday stay. ”

“While this 5 star review may read as alarming, we were in fact very pleased with Christopher and his response. We had a good meet and greet with Christopher and his dogs, our dogs played together and our dog Demi explored his yard area which we examined. Unfortunately when boarding her we learned something critical about Demi, the discovery process for which was very stressful for everyone involved. Our dog turns out to be able to jump to the top of a 6 foot wooden fence and walk along the top. We know this because Christopher was supervising and saw it happen. After she jumped down to the other side, he sprung into action. He was then able to corral her into another neighbor's front yard and called us as Demi was avoiding his attempts to recapture. We drove over and quickly located Christopher and the neighbors he had recruited and collected Demi who was happy and healthy. While Demi temporarily escaping to the neighborhood was shocking, Christopher's actions leading up to that were in line with our expectations and his actions in response were commendable.”

“Isabella is wonderful. Merle is a grumpy old man & has a strict medication schedule. She made sure he got to go on walks & explore, sleep on the couch, lounge in the backyard & kept me updated on it all. I know when Merle gets dropped off, he becomes a part of her family for that time. She is absolutely wonderful.”

“Maria is a superb sitter! She took excellent care of my little Tanner. She adheres to a daily routine including feeding and walking, is super responsive with communication, and has a safe home. I felt very much at ease that Tanner was in good hands, was safe, had fun, and was well cared for. You can tell she loves what she does!”

Iksu took amazing care of our dog, peanut. It has been a tough time as we recently lost our eldest dog and Iksu was extremely supportive and accommodating as we needed to change schedules etc. They were communicative and inquired early about his needs. We will definitely use them again.

Myra was amazing with our dog. We have had bad experiences in the past, but Myra and Ulysses made both me and my dog feel at home. She is very caring and was more than accommodating with all the needs of our dog. Myra's home is peaceful with a lot of space for our active dog. Our dog was very happy at pick up and we are so thankful for Myra's hard work. We will definitely use her again:)

Amazing! This was the second time watching our dog, Maverick, and he had an amazing time. This was a long trip away and Shay kept us updated with pictures and messages the whole time. There was never a worry for us. Our pup loves staying here and we feel so comfortable leaving him. Thank you Shay for taking such good care of him while we were away!

Katie is absolutely amazing! We were incredibly nervous about boarding our puppy, Zorro, at someone else’s house, but Katie completely put our minds at ease. She took such wonderful care of him and treated him like her own. Throughout his stay, she sent us tons of updates, pictures, and videos, which we appreciated so much. Seeing him happy and relaxed made our time away completely stress-free. If you are looking for someone who is attentive, loving, and highly communicative, especially for a young puppy, I cannot recommend Katie enough. We will absolutely be booking with her again!

We were out of town and needed a dog sitter for our young puppy, Cookie, and Jamie was so wonderful! I know Cookie had a fun time, and she did everything to make him feel comfortable during his stay. She kept us updated with lots of photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away.

⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Care and Peace of Mind!⭐⭐⭐ My husband and I cannot recommend Quinten enough! We needed to find a sitter who was available to care for our dogs while we were away for our wedding. This was our very first time boarding them, let alone for five consecutive days—so when we first brought them to his place for a meet-and-greet, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect. Quinten’s environment was exactly what we needed. Our boys weren't reactive at all around Quinten or the dogs. Quinten has a very calm demeanor, and his background in doggy daycare and veterinary care shines through immediately, showing a true, deep love for dogs. We instantly felt so comfortable that we knew right away we needed to book with him, completely skipping the need to meet with any other sitters. He sent us tons of adorable photo and video updates throughout the week, which we absolutely loved and appreciated. It completely took the stress out of being away from them. Quinten often watches 10+ dogs at a time, which turned out to be an amazing opportunity for our boys. Because they hadn't had many opportunities to bond with other dogs before this, being part of his "pack" provided them with a safe environment to socialize and learn pack dynamics. All the dogs Quinten watches are smaller breeds, which gave us an extra layer of comfort. Our dog, Milo, has joint issues, and we use stairs throughout the home to prevent jumping off the furniture. We felt reassured that Quinten already had his home perfectly set up safely for his dauchsund and other small pups just like ours. We felt right at home the second we walked through the door. Quinten is incredibly personable, a genuinely nice guy, and works from home, so he’s able to give the dogs alot of attention. Plus, on the rare occasion he isn't home, his wife is available to watch and care for them. His rates are fair and reasonable, which we especially appreciated since we were booking for two dogs. We are so glad we found Quinten. Milo and Loki came home happy, relaxed, and well-adjusted. When we take our honeymoon in October, we will definitely reach out to him again to care for them while we are out of the country. Thank you so much again Quinten for caring for our furbabies!! You are the best!!! 🥰🙏🐾

Annie really enjoyed her time with Kenny. He was so kind and I could tell that he was so sweet with Annie. He sent photos and I knew that she was well taken care of. As a senior dog, she has to wear diapers at night and when I picked her up, he had gone out of his way to wash all of her diapers for me, which he absolutely did not have to do and it was very unexpected. I would definitely use Kenny again. Next time I go out of town.

Kizzie is always our preferred sitter for our elderly kitties, and this was our first time having our kitty Ginger boarded with her for 2 weeks, instead of drop-in visits. As always, Kizzie went above and beyond in her care, giving Ginger plenty of play time, brushies, and handling her diaper + air-out time like a pro. 🧼 We loved that she gave her yard exploration (one of her favorite things at home), was extremely thoughtful with how she introduced her own kitty Moco (while they ended up not being bffs, them being in the same room and relaxing said volumes! 💖). It's very obvious that Kizzies cares for cats in her care as if her own, down to laundering the reusable diaper covers we use for Ginger! If I could give 8 stars out of 5 I would, and absolutely recommend her every time. 😁 Thank you as always, Kizzie, appreciate you so much! 🙏🏽

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
