“We left our dog, Bailey with Ben and his family to go on a vacation. Ben and his family tool care of Bailey very well. The yard was amazing for her to run around. Ben is very communicative and send us amazing pictures of Bailey to keep us updated. Ben is very respectful and friendly. Would definitely book again.”

“Patricia and her family were amazing with Mason. Patricia updated me how Mason was doing with photos and videos throughout his stay. Patricia took care of even the last minute requests we thought of in the middle of the stay. I’m so grateful!!!”

“Pros: Ginny seemed to have a great time, and Yuliia seems to really like dogs and treat them well. She is very responsive to messages which is great. We appreciated her daily photos/videos, and she followed our instructions. She was agreeable to a meet & greet beforehand. Our dog has never been with a cat, so she even had a friend watch her cat during the stay to accommodate our dog, which was very kind. Cons: Communication was tricky as English is not her first language. Communication (possibly cultural differences?) was an issue especially with pickup and dropoff. Yuliia seemed to have an inconsistent work schedule and changed the time for dropoff and pickup at the last minute, which was confusing and stressful. At pickup, she was at work and none of my dog’s items were packed, resulting in us leaving some items by accident and needing to schedule another time just to pick them up. Her teenage son was the one who met us at pickup and her friend during pickup of the items, so she was actually not there at all either time. Our dog did seem happy, so overall the stay went well; I just would hope there is better communication next time.”

“Lena is amazing; she’s super sweet, provides excellent communication and quick has a quick response time. She watched our Toy Aussie for a week and provided tons of photos and updates about their adventures. He was well cared for and Lena and her family treated him as their own. Tons of walks, lots of play time, great interactions with the other dogs she was watching. We couldn’t be happier and will definitely use her again!!”

“This was a first stay for Marley with Heather, and a first stay for me using Rover. I am very pleased with Heather's caring attention to Marley. She sent photos several times a day and it looks like he was doing very well. I will definitely book with Heather again.”

“Leio and Leah and their family were amazing! They poured so much attention and affection to our dog and it's clear he loved every minute of it. They were communicative and provided great photos during our trip which we really loved as well. Would definitely return to for future sittings!”

“Kirsten is the best - I know my pup loves staying with her because he gets so excited when we get there and runs right into her house. She is very flexible and communicates and shares great updates. So appreciate the peace of mind when she is caring for my dog, that he is in such good hands and having a great time.”

“I'm hesitant to say too many nice things about Maria as I fear it will make her too popular and harder to book with her. :-) We couldn't have found a better place for our pup to stay than at Maria's Little Dog Senior Center. We appreciated that she focuses on smaller, older pups who might need a bit more attention and want a slower pace. We received plenty of texts, photos and videos to assure us that all was well. Above all else, you absolutely get the sense that Maria is doing this simply because she loves dogs and knows there are owners that want a sitter to care for their pet as much as they do. Recommended 1000%!”

“I left my cat with Anhelina for a week and it was an amazing decision. Anhelina sent photos and videos of my cat everyday. She also responded quickly to my messages. I highly recommend Anhelina. She’ll make sure your little one is comfortable.”

“Ali was a total rockstar and took amazing care of our dogs. Super responsive, great with photos, and spoiled our dogs rotten in the best of ways. Our dogs can’t wait for their next stay :)”

“Hillary and her husband took very good care of Nala, and I never worried about her during my trip for 5 days. I was a bit nervous because Nala can be picky with dogs and is not exposed to toddlers, but Hillary made sure that everything was comfortable and safe! She kept us posted and quickly responded to our messages as well. Usually we leave Nala only with friends who we trust, but now I’ll definitely reach out to Hillary next time! Thank you!”

“Incredible care taker for our pups! Lindsey kept me informed and sent pictures daily. Very thankful to have found her. Her family definitely settled my nerves about going out if town!”

“Beth was absolutely amazing! She was extra patient, loving and understanding toward our anxious 13-year-old doggie. She sent photo updates several times a day and even gave Maddie a bath after she had potty accident in her kennel. Would definitely recommend – she’s a superstar dog sitter. Five stars!”

“Ellen and Larry took such great care of Bella. I received pictures and updates which were so fun and reassuring to see. Bella loved playing there and getting her own doggie vacation.”

Deborah was excellent with Kodi. She provided regular updates with photos and was very flexible with dropoff and pickup times. Kodi had a great time with her and is looking forward to his next stay later this year! I highly recommend Deborah and will continue booking with her.

Hazel was treated extremely well and had plenty of opportunities to play and burn off all her energy. She loved playing with the other dogs, and I really appreciated receiving so many pictures throughout her stay. It was great seeing how much fun Hazel had. I would definitely recommend this sitter!

He has taken care of our pet, Golu, twice, and both times he made sure to keep us updated with regular messages and photos. He took wonderful care of Golu, and we could tell he genuinely cared for him. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our Golu!

Jillian and her family treat our CJ as part of the family and truly love her as much as we do. She's incredibly communicative, sending photos and updates throughout CJ's stay, so we always know she's happy and well cared for. CJ comes home relaxed and clearly worn out from all the love and playtime. Highly recommend!

Iksu took amazing care of our dog, peanut. It has been a tough time as we recently lost our eldest dog and Iksu was extremely supportive and accommodating as we needed to change schedules etc. They were communicative and inquired early about his needs. We will definitely use them again.

Myra was amazing with our dog. We have had bad experiences in the past, but Myra and Ulysses made both me and my dog feel at home. She is very caring and was more than accommodating with all the needs of our dog. Myra's home is peaceful with a lot of space for our active dog. Our dog was very happy at pick up and we are so thankful for Myra's hard work. We will definitely use her again:)

Amazing! This was the second time watching our dog, Maverick, and he had an amazing time. This was a long trip away and Shay kept us updated with pictures and messages the whole time. There was never a worry for us. Our pup loves staying here and we feel so comfortable leaving him. Thank you Shay for taking such good care of him while we were away!

Katie is absolutely amazing! We were incredibly nervous about boarding our puppy, Zorro, at someone else’s house, but Katie completely put our minds at ease. She took such wonderful care of him and treated him like her own. Throughout his stay, she sent us tons of updates, pictures, and videos, which we appreciated so much. Seeing him happy and relaxed made our time away completely stress-free. If you are looking for someone who is attentive, loving, and highly communicative, especially for a young puppy, I cannot recommend Katie enough. We will absolutely be booking with her again!

We were out of town and needed a dog sitter for our young puppy, Cookie, and Jamie was so wonderful! I know Cookie had a fun time, and she did everything to make him feel comfortable during his stay. She kept us updated with lots of photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away.

Annie really enjoyed her time with Kenny. He was so kind and I could tell that he was so sweet with Annie. He sent photos and I knew that she was well taken care of. As a senior dog, she has to wear diapers at night and when I picked her up, he had gone out of his way to wash all of her diapers for me, which he absolutely did not have to do and it was very unexpected. I would definitely use Kenny again. Next time I go out of town.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
