“Maureen is wonderful! She provided frequent updates and pictures and our pup was really excited to see her after doing a meet and greet a few days before.”

“Pain and Bonnie took great care of JoJo and provided a lot of feedback to us! JoJo is sometimes stubborn during walks but they figured things out to accommodate JoJo. Much Appreciated! We will definitely go back to them in the future ;)”

“Deepika and her family are absolutely incredible! This was our first time using her, and we would rebook again anytime without hesitation. She truly loves dogs, and it shows in the exceptional care she provides. Her house and yard are so spacious, giving the dogs plenty of room to run and play safely. I received frequent updates with tons of photos and videos, which gave me complete peace of mind. She is incredibly patient, kind, and showered my dog with so much love. I cannot recommend this lovely sitter enough!”

“Macaley was very communicative and friendly to us. She was so sweet to our dog and attentive to his needs. She sent pictures every day. We will definitely bring Ziggy back.”

“Joshua was amazing! He is very communicative and flexible, from the meet and greet through boarding. He braved the rain and took my pup on lots of walks and to the park. And shared tons of pics.”

“We love Akiko! She took such good care of our little baby and sent pictures everyday. Akiko has great energy and is very caring and thoughtful. Asked all the right questions from the beginning. We will see you soon ?”

“Debbi and family were amazing! Trooper was well cared for, entertained, exercised, and for the most part…welcomed into their family. It is always hard to leave Trooper for a few days, but I knew he was having a good time while we were away.”

“Was hosting a holiday party and decided it was best to send my two dogs to play with someone for the day while I set up the party. Martha and her family said they would bring back Khloé and Karly tired and they sure did! Martha offered to pick up and drop off the dogs. She sent pictures throughout the day so show how active they were being. Khloé and Karly came back super tired! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Martha is now on my go to list!”

“Peter was awesome with my two German Shepherds. He took them to the park, had them play in the back yard, sent lots of photos of them having a bestest day. When I came to get them they were super chill—a clear sign that much fun was had. Would highly recommend Peter for anyone who wants their doggos to have lots of fun and attention. Another thing I really appreciated is that Peter is really good with communication, responding quickly, making planning on my end way easy. 10/10 Recommend.”

“Ramon was amazing. He was on time, took care of my dog and sent me great pictures daily outdoor. My favorite part is that he worked from home and he was with her pretty much all day. My dog was extremely happy. Would definitely rebook with him again.”
“Amy was fantastic in dealing with an incredibly shy dog, and a normally very easy dog who ended up having some medical issues during his stay. Particularly with our shy pup, it's pretty stressful to leave her, so it was great to be able to do so and not have to worry. Overally, a perfect experience and would highly recommend.”

“Thank you for taking excellent care of Plum!! It was a big help knowing she was in great hands with people who care about her. She’s looking forward to returning! Thank you!”

“Joash watched Argos for a weekend and was wonderful. Joash was super responsive throughout the stay and kept me updated, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I really appreciated the communication and would gladly book with Joash again!”

“You can see from her enthusiasm that she is very keen of taking good care of your dogchild. From the time of booking, easy communication as well as very responsive. Several pics and updates as well”

“Awesome couple with great communication while we were out of the country. We felt super confident our dog was in great hands. They were delightful and we will try to use just them going forward!!”

“One of the best animal caretakers in town! My fur child (12 year old husky) is always happy to stay with such a wonderful individual and family. We have a crazy time with flights and one city in particular always has delays. Samantha has always went above and beyond to accommodate for such challenges the airlines creates for us . Additionally my 12 year old husky loves his time in her care and she is very informative which shows the amount of time and care she places in the task of caring for a animal (fur child) . 10 out of 10 would recommend.”

Another good stay for our rescue dog with Elan at her home. Elan kept us posted on how he was doing during the stay and sent pictures regularly. She promptly responded to questions. She clearly likes dogs! ... and is calm and reassuring with them. Her home has a nice, fenced yard with lots of variation in texture. Will plan to work with her in the future when we need to travel without our pet.

We always feel so at peace leaving our family pup w/ Todd, Honey, and the rest of their loving family! Todd is a true dog whisperer! I appreciate how he listens to our own rules for pup, follows them, and then builds on them. Our pup comes home completely happy, tired, and I can tell, missing pal Honey in days after.

Banjo and Mancha have stayed with Elise and James twice now, and we truly could not ask for better sitters. They have been so well cared for both times, and Elise is great about sending photos and updates throughout the stay. We can tell the dogs feel right at home (and Banjo especially loves having a backyard deck to lounge on all day). It’s been so nice to leave the dogs in trusted hands and enjoy time away without worrying. Don’t hesitate to book - they are the best!

Booked with Siying once again, and she was fantastic as always! Both Tofu and Donut adjusted really well during their stay. We had some concerns about Tofu’s poop, and Siying took extra time to keep an eye on her and make sure everything was okay, which we really appreciated. We felt very comfortable knowing they were in such good hands. Would absolutely love to have her take care of them again!

Cindy was fantastic with Frisko! She followed all care instructions, always replied promptly, and provided wonderful daily updates with lots of photos. It was clear she really understands dogs. Frisko has some separation anxiety and dog reactivity, and she handled everything with complete ease and care. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be booking with her again!

Eva was absolutely wonderful—I am still pinching myself that we found her! It felt like the happiest and safest environment for our little senior dachshund. He definitely has his quirks, and Eva was so caring and kind in her care for him. She checked in regularly and was an absolute joy to work with—would absolutely recommend her to all!

My 1 year old cavapoo stayed with Oksana for 2.5 weeks while I was out of the country. Oksana was the perfect match. She is very kind, professional and communicated daily. Her home was immaculate, too. Laila looked so happy in the photoss and was not anxious at all when I picked her up. She looked at me like “ I can stay here longer!” She was very well taken care of. I will defintely plan on using Oksana again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
