“Jackie has been caring for our puppy since the first week he came home in June. She's helped us tremendously by visiting Mr. Mustard when he's been sick and taking him to his favorite day care. I can't thank her enough for the positive impact she's had on our family. Jackie is extremely reliable, caring, detail oriented and kind. She is the first person we go to for help and I can't recommend her enough. Thank you for being such an important part of Mr. Mustard's life!”

About: I am a former employee of both the humane society and Dogwalker etc. At the humane society, I received a lot of formal training on dog behavior as well as fostered a lot of animals. My family loves dogs and would be happy to take care of your child-friendly fur babies. I use positive reinforcement and make sure they get a lot of excercise. I can help follow routines your pet is used to, as well as giving any medication that may be on. :) In addition to dogs, I took an ASPCA cat behavior training, and I am well versed in small animal (especially rabbits) needs. The pets must be good with older children and friendly cats. If so, then they will receive lots of love and attention and get plenty of exercise! I recently moved to Mercer Island and am focusing on settling in. I love animals and being outside and would love to walk dogs as I get to know the area. I always use a leash. I would follow any routines your pet has. I would come walk at your house, and I could help with your pet's specific needs.
“I think Mel did a good job. Our Woody seems happy. I was amazed at the amount of fur she too off him, as I had brushed him often but was cautious about "overdoing" because my husband did that once and "drew blood" on his back, near his tail. Maybe this will cause his "urp'ing" to diminish. Judy”

“We booked with Mik a little last minute a week before our two week international trip when our initial sitter was a no show for a meet and greet, and we are so glad we did! Mik was professional, and excellent communicator, and was very flexible working together with a family member who was also caring for our pets; especially when new challenges came up (our cat was hospitalized the weekend before we left for a urinary blockage). She was awesome at interacting with our pets at the level they were comfortable with, and I could tell that they became buds by the end of our trip! ☺️ We also appreciated all of the pictures and details we were given during her home visits, as well as how Mik put in the effort to provide engagement and stimulation for our pets on a variety of ways. I would definitely recommend booking with her, and we hope to do so again in the future!”

About: I've taken care of my family's dogs since I was 10, as well as the many different dogs (and puppies) we fostered over the years. I've also had some experience caring for my family's two cats (including one very talkative Bengal) for 5ish years. Some of my close friends and neighbors have also entrusted me with caring for their furry friends, including feeding, walking, and generally caring for and about them. I'm a part-time worker and student with a variable but fairly flexible schedule! I’d love to spend time with your furry friends—whether it’s walks, playtime, or house sitting. I'm happy to give your pet the love and attention they deserve! I tailor my care to each pet’s needs and your preferences. For pet sitting in your home, I: - Usually follow your pet’s routine for feeding, walks, and playtime to keep them comfortable and happy. - I'm happy to provide updates, photos, or messages so you can stay in the loop. - Ensure a safe, calm, and stress-free environment—whether it’s a quick visit or an overnight stay.

“Livia was great with our puppy who has just gotten surgery done. She was available on short notice and took the time and effort to make sure our puppy was comfortable with her and had a relaxing evening!”

“I've always had a great experience with Maura. She is punctual and takes care of my cats really well. Both my cats are very comfortable around her (even my introverted and scared cat). I love that she sends a detailed message about the cats along with pictures after every check in.”

“Toki took really good care of our cats while we were not there. We appreciated everything he has done. We have very good communication all those days. When we are back home, the cats are healthy and happy. Thank you! 👍”

“Alexander took excellent care of our cats. He tends to the details, filling extra bowl of kibbles etc. Our two cats are typically shy from strangers but they got along with Alexander right away. Will definitely come back!”

“Cydnie is a lifesaver and we are so lucky to have found her. Our original plans fell through for a sitter and we requested her help last minute on Rover. She promptly responded and was always perfectly on time for every drop in. Our two cats immediately took to her and she really cared about them. She has amazing attention to detail, intelligent, trustworthy, and knows a lot about cats so I felt relieved she was taking care of our babies. We could definitely relax on our trip knowing she was taking good care of such an important part of our life. We will definitely be return customers. Thank you so much Cydnie!”

“Olivia has been wonderful with my cat, Lucy! My Lucy is very discerning and a scaredy cat, and she’s really warmed up to Olivia. She’s very responsible, attentive, communicative, and great with animals. Highly recommend!”

“Camille was fabulous! Stitch was well taken care of. Meeting before hand was perfect. Easy and flexible on the scheduling. I'll definitely have Camille back. :)”

“First time leaving my senior dog alone for a week. We decided to try a sitter on Rover, and we are happy with our dog and with the care that Jessie V. put into caring for Sammi, and for the house. At 15 years old, Sammi has messes, and I am grateful for Jessie's care in caring for Sammi, and for the condition of the carpet and floors. When we saw Sammi after being away for a week, he seemed happy, well-fed, and the room smelled clean. Thanks, Jessie!”

About: In preparation for my first puppy as a single-puppy-parent, I did a ton of research and hit the ground running when I adopted my first rat terrier puppy. We went through many and frequent training classes and socialization outings so that my dog would grow up to become a happy, well-socialized, nearly fearless adult. I believe in positive reinforcement and can't help but give all the love to all the furkids around me. I've also adopted and lost my heart to larger furkids. Our 2 retired racing greyhounds crossed over the rainbow bridge a few years and left a big void in our family. My first rat terrier recently left us, so we are now just a 1-dog family. I'm an indoor and outdoor gardener, a very amateur macro photographer, woodworker, general DIYer and dabbler in many things. My dogs like to hang out in the sunshine with me whenever I'm gardening or trying to capture a shot of something interesting in the garden. Travel is one of my passions and I've left my little guys with Rover dog sitters many times in the past. I would love to take care of your little ones while you are unable.
“Maya was fabulous. She was patient with Byjou and did a great job around little beastie 02. (My dog (beastie 01) yields to her majesty). From photos byjou is already slowly accepting Maya and that is wonderful to see as she is a rescue. Will definitely be requesting Maya again.”
“Tessa and her daughter took great care of my two cats! She is very easy to communicate with and she helped me tremendously with the unexpected incident we had with our litter robot. I can’t thank them enough and would highly recommend this mon&daughter team to anyone needing care for their fur babies.”

This is the second time Mackenzie has watched and visited our cats. She is amazing! Her pictures, communication, and following our advice for each cat is top notch. We have four cats and a lot of litter boxes. She took care of those messes daily and still found time to pet and play with each cat. I am a bit anxious leaving them, but she is a wonderful sitter and made me feel like she truly loves each one of the cats :). I will continue to book her in the future and anyone reading this should too!

Hongfei took great care of my cats over the weekend. He was very attentive, spent plenty of time playing with them, and made sure they were comfortable and happy. He even cleaned up a hairball when she threw up, which I really appreciated. It was clear that he genuinely cares about cats. I would definitely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter.

Kristen is a very attentive, communicative, thoughtful pet sitter. She did 2 drop ins a day for a little over a week making sure to let me know if there were any issues that came up. I felt at ease having Kristen as my pet sitter for Termite on such short notice. Termite was very well taken care of!

Maddy has been fabulous, thoughtful, and very caring sitter for my two cats when I had to be away for kinda-last min away plan. She didn’t even hesitate to provide an extra look and care when one of my cat didn’t seem very well and I can’t express enough how much I appreciated her warm care given to my cats. She was also very communicative and there was no confusion for anything while I was away.

Sanuthi is incredible and very reliable. We have two finicky 12 year old cats and any changes stress out Simba. She was very patient, willing to meet him within his comfort level. She kept in contact through the visits, letting me know of any issues she was seeing, willing to change the plan on the fly. Kitties were in good hands and I am so very grateful for Sanuthi!

Qiangnan is truly wonderful. She spends so much time playing with my cats and even brings her own toys to keep them entertained. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about them and pays close attention to how they’re doing, always keeping me updated on their condition. What impressed me the most is that even my shy cat really likes her, which says a lot about her patience and gentle approach with animals. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing my cats are in such caring and attentive hands. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter.

We are so thrilled to have found Morgan for out two cats. Our cats are very skittish but took to Morgan right away. She plays with them and sends pics/videos of them for us. She is very easy to communicate with. We will definitely be using her whenever we need to be gone. Highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
