“SJ is a phenomenal sitter! We are immensely grateful for her flexibility with our seemingly ever evolving travel schedule. Given 10 hours of travel and intense jet lag from a 16 hour time difference, we truly appreciated SJ’s willingness to bring Ava to us on the Eastside. Thank you SJ!!! You truly are the best around!! We couldn’t have had our amazing vacation without your assistance. We appreciate you!”

“Darlayna was fantastic with our pup Wiley! Super engaged and communicative, sent lots of photos throughout, and she clearly loves the dogs she cares for. Wiley is slow to adjust to a new place but she worked to help him settle in, and he loved all his walks (and his husky pal, Paris!)”

“Royce had an extended stay and we are always at ease that he has such personalized care and attention. He is treated as part of their family and loves playing with the other dogs. Jane communicates daily and we love seeing the pics and videos. Royce had a great time at summer camp!”

“We were very happy leaving our dog with Rochelle and her husband. She was easy to communicate with and we knew he would be safe and comfortable in their home. They also have a fenced yard if your dog, like mine, can be tricky on walks!”

“Sheena did so well with my two kiddos! Sterling can be a bit of a handful--he has anxiety and special needs (and is a bit of a grumpy old man). I can tell that she followed the most important directions I gave her based on his condition when I picked them up, I am very grateful. 🙂”

“McKenna continues to be an amazing dog sitter! Our Penny just loves visiting her and her dogs, and we always feel confident that she will be well cared for. We’re so thankful to have McKenna close by!”

“Our dog is very nervous leaving us and she immediately warmed up to Kristi. We felt very comfortable leaving Mia with her, which means everything to us. Kristi sent us daily updates and pictures, and quickly responded to texts. We have already booked Mia's next stay with Kristi. Highly recommend!”

“Kaitlin was a fantastic sitter for our little Shih Tzu! She took our baby for walks and gave her lots of cuddles and love. We knew our girl was in great hands with Kaitlin and will definitely use Kaitlin again.”

“John was great! We appreciated his prompt communication and the care he gave our two sometimes neurotic dogs. One dog needed to have stitches removed while we were gone and John generously agreed to take him in to have that done. The dogs came back happy and healthy. The huge backyard for them to explore was a bonus! We would definitely have John dog-sit for us again.”

“They did an amazing job of watching our dog! Regular updates, clearly cared for the dog, and the dog came home very happy and tired. Would strongly recommend and definitely use again!”

“Our babies were well attended to and were as calm & contented as the day we dropped them off. Kelly & Karen are great host parents. We look forward to having them sit for us again in the future.”

“Another awesome stay! It is so comforting to know that your furry family member (in our case, our dog) is in good hands and is going to be well cared for - and have a fun time. We highly recommend”

“Rocky had another great stay with Sreymom! We always appreciate all the photos. Sreymom is flexible and understanding and we always have peace of mind boarding Rocky with her!”

“Ling is very thoughtful and took great care of my dog. She communicates a lot and has very easy pick up and drop off times. Would be happy to have her dog sit Benji again!”
“Woape was wonderful! He and his sweet golden were great hosts to my golden. They went on many adventures, walks, and shared cute pictures from the parks they visited. Bailey loves to swim so he took her to Marymoor - she had a blast!”

“Don is amazing! Super communicative and accommodating. Sent us pictures and updates of our pupp. Super easy to coordinate with. We will be regulars for overnight stays!”

“Lisa has been so amazing with our 12 year old who has separation anxiety having moved to the US recently. He took to her immediately and she demonstrates unmatched care for him. She does things he love including taking him for car rides and long walks. It is such a relief for us to know Rufus is in the best hands when he is with Lisa.”

“Heather was great! She made sure maple was fed and happy. She sent lots of pictures to keep updated which I loved! She was very quick to respond and very friendly! Would definitely book again!”

“Amy was wonderful and took great care of Mishri. She was flexible with times, communicative, and sent plenty of pictures to keep my mind at ease. Will definitely be booking with her again!”

Yen and Terry were so kind during our meet and greet and throughout our pups stay. They explained everything in detail and kept us updated with regular photos and comments. I am also truly thankful for their flexibility with our drop off and pick up times. Thank you again!!

Sandra will make your dog feel like they are at the best summer camp :) She is our go-to sitter for everything… This is the one place where our dog will run out of the car straight into her house without looking back at us. You can trust your pet will be apart of the family!

Woape took wonderful care of my girls on short notice after I suddenly needed to travel over the long weekend. He was incredibly easy to work with and took them out to play at the dog park which was super appreciated. Absolutely no flags from me and I would recommend him as a sitter!
Laura has taken excellent care of my elderly Lucy several times now. I really appreciate the frequent updates and pictures as well as how diligently she follows our care instructions for all the multiple arthritis meds Lucy takes throughout each day. Highly recommend!

Sally was absolutely wonderful! She treated our dog like part of her own family, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pup was so well loved and cared for. We appreciated the updates and could tell our dog was happy and comfortable the entire stay. When our flight was unexpectedly delayed at the last minute, Sally graciously extended our dog’s stay without hesitation, which was such a huge help and took so much stress off our shoulders. We couldn’t be more grateful for her kindness and flexibility. We highly recommend Sally and would absolutely book with her again!

Ivett took such wonderful care of our dog, treating him just like her own! It gave us total peace of mind during our trip. Her house is also incredibly clean and safe and her dog, Chanel, was also incredibly friendly, which made the stay even more enjoyable. We would love to have Ivett watch our pup again in the future. Highly recommended!

We are so please with how Juan took care of our dog Hailey. He keeps excellent routines and very detailed oriented with everything that needs to be done to make sure that your pet is safe. He also communicates frequently and provides excellent information and pictures on how things are going. I would definitely recommend him and we are planning to use his help again shortly.

Megha was wonderful and always kept me updated about how my dog was doing. She went above and beyond caring for her and made sure she was eating daily. She has a very peaceful home and my dog came home well cared for. (I could definitely tell) super thankful! Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
