“Wonderful boarding experience! Our pup enjoyed Stacey and her family and loved their nature yard. I felt like she got her own dog retreat while we were out of town! Communication with updates and pictures was appreciated. Will look to book again for our next trip!”

“John did an amazing job taking care of Squash while we were on vacation. He also gave us daily uptakes and pictures. We will definitely contact John again to watch Squash!”

“Our dog Bear seemed to really enjoy his time! We got regular updates and pick up time was made more flexible when something wild kept us from getting back to pick up Bear at the original discussed time. Appreciate everything! 🥰”

“Nicole was great! Not only was this a last minute reservation, she welcomed my 2 small dogs to her home and family. Nicole was terrific with her communication. She sent pictures and videos daily.”

“My goldendoodle, Brodie, stayed with Kaitlin & her dog, Franklin, for a week! He loved staying with her and was well cared for. Kaitlin sent me several pictures each day & kept me posted on Brodie’s activities. I will definitely use Kaitlin again when we need a dog sitter!”

“Michelle and family were great with Amber. They went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable as she was new to the place and was not eating her food regularly.”

“Sarah was absolutely wonderful with Tofu! She gave him all of his medications, and helped him out when he had some tummy troubles. She is super kind and very communicative :)”

“Scott and Jessica (and family) were simply wonderful with our lab who has some stranger anxiety and needs some special attention. They provided a loving and caring environment which our dog thrived in. I am looking forward to booking their services again.”
“Robin and her family were great with our dog and super easy to coordinate with. The bottomline question always seems to be: would we board with Robin again? Yes! We plan to.”

“Our dogs were very happy and content with Talia. She does a great job of communicating and sending pics. Extensive flight delays kept up from getting home in time for pick up and Talia was very helpful in keeping the dogs an extra night. We look forward to booking with Talia again.”

“Julie and her family are wonderful! She took great care of Lina and sent pictures and updates throughout her stay! We will definitely be taking Lina back again. Thank you so much!”

“At this point, Momo’s house has truly become Bailey’s second home. She absolutely loves spending time with Momo, Pudding, and the whole family. Bailey was actually sad to leave, which says everything about how well she was cared for and how much love she received. We feel so lucky to have found such a warm, welcoming, and trustworthy sitter for her. Thank you, Momo!! :)”

“Our 12 year old dog Gwennie enjoyed her one day boarding trial at Jiyeon's place. Jiyeon and her husband took very good care of her. Gwen will come back for a long stay next month.”

“Jessica is so amazing! This was my first trip where I didn’t leave my baby with friends or family. Trixie felt so much love from Jessica and her girls. My trip changed monthly and Jessica was so flexible and understanding it helped make this first time boarding such an easy experience for me and my dog.”

“This was our first time using Rover to find a sitter for our dog, Apollo. Tyler was the best person we could have asked for. He was super communicative ahead of time, was sending us plenty of updates while we were gone, and sent lots of photos. He also took Apollo on plenty of walks in some nice areas in Bothell. Apollo looked like he had the best time. We'd love to have him stay with Tyler again the next time we need a dog sitter.”

Smitha is amazing! She and her family clearly love dogs and treat them like members of the family. Nila stayed with them for five days while I was away on a trip. During our meet-and-greet, Smitha took the time to get to know Nila and made sure she was comfortable throughout her stay. I received regular photo and video updates, and it was obvious that Nila was happy, relaxed, and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Nila with Smitha again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter.

Amber, her husband and their doodle Maple, welcomed our senior dog Hailey like a family member. They attentively took care of her, providing a calm, clean, and loving environment where Hailey felt safe and happy. We appreciated all the photos, beach day and doggy snuggles which convinced us that Hailey got her own vacation while we were out of town. We appreciate all the tender loving care and attention provided to our Hailey girl and deep assurance for her humans that she was well-looked after. We will definitely reach out to Amber again for our boarding needs.

Michelle & Brian are absolutely the best! They made leaving our 7 month old puppy for the first time the best experience possible. Michelle provides so many updates that I never had to worry. It’s easy to see they both love dogs!!! Cali loved her visit and came home one happy dog! I couldn’t recommend them enough! We feel lucky to have found them!

Our normally timid, shy, anxious dog had the BEST time with Namhee and her family. She was attentive and detailed and provided a lot of updates that gave us the peace of mind knowing he was doing well in her care. Would definitely reach out again for future boarding!

Jackson was flexible and accommodating to our needs. My cat, who is usually not very friendly with strangers, warmed up to Jackson from the very first day. It was also his first time staying away from us for several days, and when we came back, he seemed relaxed rather than stressed or sad. I would definitely recommend Jackson to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
