“Julie was super responsive and flexible with our trip! She sent lots of updates and made sure we knew Olive was having fun while we were. Drop off and pick up were a breeze and Olive is wiped! We definitely hope to use Julie again in the future!”

“This was our first time doing a Rover and Talia was wonderful! Constant and quick communication and wonderful photo updates throughout the day. Luna had the best time and we will definitely be booking again”

“We could not be more pleased with the care our pup received with Luke and his family. They clearly love dogs and it was very reassuring to see how comfortable and safe the dogs are in their home. 10/10 would recommend.”

“Cecilia was a fantastic sitter who took wonderful care of our little Oso while we were out of town. From the very beginning, her and her partner were very sensitive to the fact that this was the first time we were leaving our baby and met up with us on two separate occasions to make sure everyone was comfortable. She has two super cute corgis that you can tell she adores and loves dearly, and she cared for Oso with the same affection during his stay. She took them on daily walks, gave multiple updates throughout the day, and notified us immediately when something was off with his breathing. We will most definitely be using her services again in the future as long as she’s available!”

“Newton looked very happy (and happily tired) when back! Seems like he had a great time! Alexander was on top of communication and send some great photos and end of day updates! Thank you”

“We had the most wonderful experience with Ailyn! From the very beginning, it was clear that Juniper was being cared for with so much love, attention, and genuine affection. Knowing Junie was happy and in such capable hands allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our trip to Oslo. Ailyn and her daughter kept Junie active with wonderful adventures to the park and the beach. Ailyn also took the time to truly understand Junie’s personality and breed, recognizing that she is happiest when she has a “job” to do. She even began taking her on bike-guided walks, which Junie absolutely loved! We very much enjoyed the daily updates through text, photo and video of Junie living her best life 😉 This was truly the best dog-sitting experience we could have hoped for. Ailyn went above and beyond in every way, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. We will absolutely be asking her to care for Junie again in the future!”

“Benny had such an incredible time with Denise! She was such an incredible sitter and I was completely worry free the entire time I was away. She regularly sent me updates and pics several times a day. Don’t even hesitate in leaving your pup with Denise. She’s incredible and I know Benny is looking forward to staying with her again! Thank you Denise for taking such good care of Benny 💕”

“Jessica is amazing! She sent TONS of high quality photos of our dog every day. We can tell she took great care of him and he had an awesome time. We would definitely recommend her and plan on boarding our dog with her again!”

“Don truly cares for dogs and is flexible and easy to work with. He watched our senior schnauzer for a week and was very attentive to the needs of an older dog. He has had several of his own and obviously loves the companionship. Thanks Don!”

“My dog is old and has some health issues, and I was nervous to leave him for our trip, but he thrived with Chris, and came home with more energy than he left with actually. I think he enjoyed being around other dog energy. I am so grateful.”
“Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our reactive dog! We received updates, pictures, and videos which made being away a lot easier. This family is truly amazing and I know Sugar will always be safe anytime we travel.”

About: I admit that I'm new to Rover.com but I cared for my beloved Chloe (60 lb dog) for 16 years and also dog sat for my best friend when she went out of town. Safety is incredibly important to me and I have a fully fenced, private back yard that would love to host your canine family member. I am retired now so can set my own schedule. I am home most of the time but do typically leave the house for an hour or so to exercise each day. When I'm pet sitting, your special pet will be my top priority and I will be able to work my schedule around their needs and your expectations. I have a large, fully fenced, private back yard. I do not require that your pet be crate trained as my dog (she passed away in 2024) was never crate trained. I'm ok with you simply bringing over their dog bed, but if they sleep in a crate, that's fine too. My home's environment is very safe and offers room to roam when they're outside. The one fence line that has a gap between the bottom of the fence and the ground has been covered with wire mesh so even a small dog cannot get out. As a retired person, I'm able to walk your dog as many times / day as you request. As mentioned above, they'll also be free to roam the backyard and I will be with them during that time.
“This is our 2nd time sending our pups to Lauren and Tarmo and again they did not disappoint! They have the pups on a routine from the moment they get to the house. Attention to detail and plenty of updates throughout the stay. Rayne and Dash come home healthy and happy! Their pup Luna is an absolute sweetheart as well and Dash loves playing with her.”

“My dog loves Yuliia and her family so much! Normally, Adi is sitting by the window waiting for me to come back. When she is with Yuliia, I am not missed. Yuliia does such a wonderful job, my dog is happy and well-loved. I get pictures. I am so grateful for the care Yuliia and her family provide my dog, Adi.”

“Ina did a great job with my new puppy. Ina sent daily photos and updates which was very much appreciated as I was out of town. I will definitely be using her again. Great communication and flexible with drop off/pick up times around flights.”

“Kara was such a nice and warmhearted person. Puffy stayed with her for two months. Kara not only fed her, walked her, but also gave her shower, cleaned her ears and took a lot of photos of puffy. Puffy made many new friends at her place. I afraid puffy would miss her a lot. I will definitely recommend her if you are looking for a trustworthy person to take care of your fluffy baby. ”

“Philip was so good with our first doggy (1 yr old puppy) and his care was excellent with our second (3yr old choc lab). Steve had lovely park walks, mental stimulation and came back very happy doggie. Highly recommend!”

“I loved knowing that I was dropping Buster off to Rose and Bodhi for a fun week of activity and adventure. Rose provided the perfect amount of updates to show me that Buster was being well taken care of. I like that she wasn't just dog sitting him at her home, but he got to meet other friends and go to the dog park. A vacation for everyone!”

“We left our 10-month old yorkie, Rufus, with Melodie and her husband for a week and we couldn't be happier with their service and care. She updated us daily with pictures of him playing and lounging, helping us cope with our "puppy sickness" while on vacation. They have a shitzu, so it was good to know he had another small breed playmate to enjoy his stay with. There were also a few other smaller dogs they watched throughout the week, so he was able to meet and play with several other dogs. We were able to pick him up late in the evening, which we really appreciated having flown in around 10pm. Rufus was happy and healthy when we picked him up and we will definitely go with Melodie's service again in the future!”

Hondo had a daycare day today with Ina. He immediately felt comfortable with her and her place. So much so that my wife and I mentioned that he didn't even say goodbye to us! Once we picked him up you could tell he had a great day. He was so tired after playing with his new friends. In fact he's still resting.

Amber was amazing with my cats, Nori and Eloise! My cat Nori has epilepsy and has been on a journey with medication for the past few weeks and Amber made the entire situation stress-free and eased our worries. She knew exactly how to best administer Nori‘s medication and gave the cats a lot of love during their stay! We will definitely be booking Amber again for future trips.

Natalia was absolutely amazing with Phoebe! Phoebe had the absolute best time during her stay, she loved running around in the backyard and playing with the other doggies. Natalia is incredibly responsible and kept us completely at ease by sending tons of photos and updates every single day, which we truly appreciated. We will definitely be leaving Phoebe with her again. Highly recommend! 🌟

Beth is amazing! We feel so comfortable and confident having her watch our two Aussies. This past week we had Beth watch both of our Aussies at the same time, and it went great. We received regular updates, photos and videos, and reassurance that things were going smoothly. The girls looked like they were having so much fun, it’s so nice to see them be in great hands together. We were nervous to have someone watch them both at the same time since we usually get separate rovers for them since they can be a handful and have different needs but we felt confident trying it out with Beth and we were so glad we did. We couldn’t recommend Beth enough! She is awesome.

Ana has been heaven sent for our 10yo dog with separation anxiety. She has a calm, nurturing presence and he is happy to see her when we drop him off. She sends detailed daily updates, which put my mind at ease. When we return, we know we’re getting back a well rested, happy pup.

Melonie & Ryan were great! We left our dog Kingsley for a week and he was very happy! They updated us throughout the week with pictures, it was nice seeing him having fun while we were missing him! It was nice that they watch other dogs as well so he has others to run around with! If we need to have him stay somewhere again, they are our first choice!

Caitie has been walking and sitting Rusty for us for the last 4 years and she is always amazing! She is highly communicative (we get regular photos and updates while out of town) and Rusty always has a blast. Outside of our family, she is his favorite person. We can’t recommend her highly enough.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
