“Shana is a very prepared sitter. When we did an initial visit, she brought a notepad and took lots of notes. My building uses the Latch app and while we didn't struggle with this at first, unfortunately on the day of Shana's visit, it decided it needed to be updated, which can be really confusing for visitors. She was able to get it to work and get inside to take care of my two cats. She sent lots of great photos and they warmed up to her right away. I'd definitely book again :)”

“Alexa did a fantastic job looking after my two kitties while I was away for a couple of weeks. I highly recommend her for anyone stressed about making sure their cats are taken care of while out of town!”

“Leelay is fantastic! Very meticulous, she asked tons of questions before we finalized the booking and spent lots of time with my pets when she visited. Every day she came exactly at the time we agreed and she sent photos each time she visited, keeping close contact the entire time. She’s so kind and thorough, I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Rebekah was very communicative and willing to work with us on making sure our kitty was taken care of throughout our travels. Will definitely reach out to her the next time we need care for our kitty.”

“Ni took great care of my cat! She is always on time very nice and gentle with my cat, and also playing with her a lot. So many lovely pictures and videos taken and sent to us, really appreciate everything!”

“Alejandro was wonderful with Tiago! Alejandro is super responsible and took lots of adorable pictures of Tiago during his drop ins. Tiago was immediately comfortable with him and loves having his daily visits from his new best bud.”

About: I am passionate about the safety, happiness, and health of all animals. I have a dog of my own who is my entire world, and I have 10+ years of experience caring for friends and family pets. I grew up in Kirkland and love walking the areas many walking trails and routes. I would love to provide your pet with exercise and companionship. I live in downtown Kirkland and am able to do quick walks or check ins easily. I work as a teacher so afternoons are open for me, and summers I am available all the time! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I work hard to create a calm, secure, and predictable environment—whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or stopping by for visits. In your home, I respect your space and stick closely to your pet’s usual routine so things feel familiar and stress-free. I’m careful with doors, gates, and leashes at all times, and I stay aware of surroundings on walks to keep your pet safe—especially around other dogs, traffic, and busy areas. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, boundaries, and any triggers ahead of time (like reactivity on walks), so I can handle situations confidently and avoid unnecessary stress. You can also expect clear communication from me, with regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is for you to feel completely at ease knowing your pet is safe, well cared for, and getting plenty of attention while you’re away.
“Brittany was attentive and caring. She was prompt in answering my questions and clearly really loves animals. I trust her and know that my pet feels safe and happy when she’s around.”

“Eric is a great person and one of the best pet sitters I’ve ever had. My dog and cats loved him. He is very gentle & caring. My pets warmed up to him very quickly. He did a wonderful job caring for my senior dog and young cats. I went on a business trip for several days and was concerned about leaving my senior dog at home with the cats but Eric did a wonderful job. So I came back to a happy, wagging tale. Eric was on time for the visits, took the time to play with the cats, give them love and attention, and sent me detailed notes with lots of pictures. He even reported on how they were eating their food! I’m so glad I found Eric and I can trust him with my pets whenever I need!”

“Hailey looked after our two cats while we were gone for 10 days. She was great, both during the meet up before we left and during the time we were away. On time, caring and very responsive. We are glad we have found someone reliable to take care of our furry family members while we are away.”

About: I cannot overstate how much I love dogs. Truly. :) I’ve had dogs my whole life, and I recently lost my little guy Jackson at 12 years old. He was my best friend, adventure buddy, and shadow...and while I’m not quite ready for another pup of my own yet, I am so excited to love on yours. ✨ What I’m Like as a Sitter I’m super friendly, clean, reliable, and full of energy. Whether your dog wants long walks, couch hangs, or constant fetch, I’m here for it. I have a very flexible schedule and can do daytime visits, evenings, or overnights depending on what your pup needs. 💛 What You Can Expect Lots of love, attention, and positive energy Clear communication + frequent photo updates (I am pretty good with photos ☺️) A safe, calm, and fun presence for your dog Someone who treats your dog like their own Solid community references (I’ve lived here a while!) 🐶 Why I Do This Honestly, I just love being around dogs. They bring out the best in me. After losing Jackson, I realized how much joy I get from caring for dogs — being outside with them, adventuring, playing, or just hanging out. Rover is a way for me to stay connected to that joy while helping other dog parents out. 🤍 Can’t Wait to Meet Your Pup I’d love to meet you and your dog soon! Let me know what they love, what they need, and how I can make their time with me the best. I have a very flexible schedule, so pet care fits in easily. I love getting outside and taking breaks throughout the day, and having a dog with me just makes everything better. I can adjust to whatever routine your pup is used to - mornings, mid-day, or evenings. I follow your dog’s normal routine closely — meals, walks, playtime, and any house rules. I’m clean, respectful, and very communicative, and I’ll send plenty of photo updates. My goal is for your dog to feel safe, loved, and totally at home.
“Caroline is the absolute best, so conscientious and fantastic with our cat. She really goes above and beyond and makes us feel so confident when leaving our cat at home for long trips. She pays attention to specific requests and really seems to love caring for our beloved pet :-)”

“Sandra is such a sweetheart! She was great during the meet and greet, asked lots of questions and approached our cats gently - the more outgoing of our two kitties even trusted her for some belly rubs! While we were away, she was very communicative, and we felt confident our boys were in good hands. She did a great job and we would happily trust her to care for them again next time!”

About: I am loving and someone you can trust. I do my best to understand them and meet their needs. I love them all as if they were my own babies. I help them take them out and about and meet their needs. If they are happy with me, I will be happy too. Rest assured. My priority is their safety and happiness. I take care of everything about them myself. I don't let them walk in places I don't find safe. I take them home safely and hand them over to their family.
“Jessica is so sweet and caring and pays attention to detail. I trust her with my fur baby and in my house. She’s very communicative and professional. I can go on vacation worry free and know my pup is in good hands.”

“Logan is very communicative and responsive! She gives great and thorough daily updates and my kitties look like they are having a blast in the photos. Lots of action shots! No issues with medication administration either.”

“Allie was an awesome cat sitter for the weekend i was away. My younger cat, Mylo, even made friends with her, which is amazing because he’s usually nervous with new people. I came home to happy cats and a tidy home, and I’d gladly book her again.”

“So glad we found Edie. Despite an uncertain welcome by my 3 standard poodles (especially the two youngest ones), she won them over and had my spirited 4 year old boy hugging her and other one laying at her feet. She even spent time with my 20 year old kitty who mostly sleeps these days. Edie knows her way around animals and her comfort level was obviously communicated to my four legged children. Thank you, Edie!”

“Sterling and Beverly are fantastic! They're both wonderful people and took amazing care of our Brin. We even had an unexpected package of groceries show up which they were kind enough to drop off at a food bank.”

Alexa was absolutely wonderful with Edu! She was incredibly attentive, responsible, and caring during her drop-in visits. She took such great care of my kitty and kept me updated, which gave me total peace of mind. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sweet and dedicated sitter.

Dahra took care of my cats for two days, showing up both days and taking care of all their needs and sending some photos. I'm not surprised my boy Goose made a new best friend immediately, but I'm very happy that my shy girl Gadget decided to be friendly by day 2! I'd happily book Dahra again, especially since it seems both of my cats approve.

Fanghua is an amazing pet sitter! She is reliable, caring, and very attentive. She took great care of my pet and gave me peace of mind while I was away. I really appreciate her help and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.

Ning is a fantastic pet sitter! She took excellent care of Mocha and followed all instructions perfectly. She is communicative, reliable, and has a wonderful way with animals. I felt completely at ease leaving Mocha in her care and will definitely book with her again.

Jessilea does a great job with our cat when we're on vacation. She's thorough with all the chores, helps with things like bringing packages in, and she and her daughter do a great job playing with our cat. Our kitty is happy to know that she gets to play with Jess and her daughter whenever the luggage comes out for a trip.

Teresa watched my two cats for two weeks while I was out of the country and was wonderful. She actually spent time with them rather than just doing food-and-litter visits, and sent so many photos throughout. It made being that far from home much easier. She's incredibly easy to work with and went out of her way to water my plants and bring in my mail, even though neither was part of the service. Highly recommend. I'll absolutely book her again.

Shannon and Jason are amazing! I had a required work meeting while my dog was having an allergic reaction that required supervision and Benadryl. They picked her up and watched her last minute making sure she was safe and healthy. I would recommend and trust them with Kazi again.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Kirkland stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kirkland. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
