Safety, trust & environment
I can only take care of pets in other's homes. I am a single parent, so I cannot do overnight pet sitting, but I can do drop-in care, walks, and dog park time. I play with, feed, and give affection to, while maintaining a safe environment for your pet. New people can be nerve wracking and it takes some pets time to warm up to people. I am typically a patient person and will take that extra time to get to know your pet so they can trust and be comfortable around me. I can help implement leash training and maintain most styles of training you may already have established. I also understand how important it is to maintain trust with you and your family members and respect for your space. I work hard to maintain clear communication via calls, texts, or emails. As this is my main income, I will work hard to not jeopardize the trust I have established with clients. My eight year old daughter will be coming on stays and walks with me. I have taught her healthy boundaries with animals. She knows what signs animals give off to determine their mode and comfort level. I will be the main person interacting with your pets though. I do not sue for nips and scratches. I also acknowledge that some pets do not prefer children and I will be open and honest with every possible client about my child being with me on the job.
Information Jessilea O. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog(s) or cat(s) have any special needs or preferences like food allergies or stimuli issues. Is your dog or cat able to be around a 8 year old? I bring my child to work with me and I want to make sure you and your pet are comfortable with that.
A typical day
We are an outdoor family that loves to explore! We enjoy taking dogs and even cats on long neighborhood walks and to explore dog parks like Jasper's, Edith Moulton, and sometimes even Marymoor park. There are also several green belt trails around the area that provide new places for your pets to explore. We also love to play with toys with pets. For dogs, balls, tug-of-war toys, and treat hiding games provide good stimulation. For cats, we use kitty wands, feathers, cat nip toys, treat hiders, and balls. Chances are if your pet loves playing with it, we will love playing with them!

Pet care experience
I have been a nanny for about 30 years. This has often included taking care of the family pets and working in people's homes when they are not there. My family was also a foster home for rat terriers for 4 years. My sister was doing Dog 4H at the time and taught us all about correct training and boundaries with dogs. We used the Cesear Milan methods with our two rat terriers, and it worked so well. I understand the benefits of properly training animals for their safety and well-being. I have pet sat for friends, family and neighbors for about 20 years. My skills as a nanny have trained me to be hyper observant (aware of quirks, likes, or other habits), risk assessment (dangerous situations or other animals), engaged (meaning not on my cell phone or ignoring your pet), and compassionate to the animals in my care. As well as respect for other people's homes and belongings, I treat all animals with love and respect. I have also passed that down to my daughter in dealing with our two cats and geriatric family dog. I have walked, maintained training, played with, fed and taken dogs to the dog park. I am comfortable feeding raw food, as that is what I give my cats. I have leashed trained my cat and often take her outdoors on small hikes and other adventures. I have experience with both dogs and cats.

Reviews

Reliable, punctual sitter with excellent updates. Would certainly rebook without hesitation.

I cannot recommend Jessilea and her daughter, Leandra, highly enough! They took exceptional care of our two cats, Saba and Uni, while we were away. Uni is extremely shy, has anxiety, and requires daily medication, which can be quite challenging. Jessilea and Leandra were incredibly patient, creative, and gentle in finding ways to earn his trust and successfully give him his medication every single day. That alone gave us tremendous peace of mind. It was obvious from the start that they truly love cats and are very knowledgeable about feline behavior. They didn’t just feed and care for them, they spent quality time playing with them, brushing them, and making sure they felt comfortable and loved. Leaving your pets behind is never easy, but knowing they were in such caring and capable hands made all the difference. Jessilea and Leandra did a fantastic job, and we will absolutely hire them again. I recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for trustworthy, compassionate, and experienced cat sitters!

Jessilea does a great job with our cat when we're on vacation. She's thorough with all the chores, helps with things like bringing packages in, and she and her daughter do a great job playing with our cat. Our kitty is happy to know that she gets to play with Jess and her daughter whenever the luggage comes out for a trip.

Jessilea and Leandra were amazing! They took care of our kitty as if she was their own. They gave her lots of pets and playtime. They provided detailed updates, asked questions if anything came up, and took great care of my plants as well. I definitely recommend them and will be booking with them in the future!
