“Kira was an amazing dog sitter! One of our dogs has separation anxiety, and Kira did a great job keeping her calm and cared for. They also asked a lot of great questions to make sure they had all of the information they needed about our dogs while we were gone. They sent us pictures of the dogs and gave status updates while we were gone which was really appreciated! They were very flexible with time too, I was able to book them with just a few days notice, and had to stay out later than expected which was no problem for them. Overall it was a great experience, our pups seemed very happy. Thanks Kira! <3”

“Second time booking Anastasia and just as happy as the first time! Will definitely continue to book with her. She takes such great care of my pups and they’re always so happy when I get home.”

“This was the first time we used Shana's services. She did a wonderful job of taking care of our two dogs and bunny. The morning we were leaving, one of our dogs developed an ear infection. Shana really stepped up, managed meds and got her to the vet for treatment. She also sent some amazing photos daily...photographer quality! Will definitely hire her again.”

“Valerie saved me in a pinch and was able to sit for me short notice- she was communicative and did everything I asked! Kenny had a great weekend with her”

“Paul was an excellent dog sitter! He was extremely responsive leading up to the visit and sent many stunning photos of my dog while I was gone. Highly recommend. My dog Muppet was very comfortable with Paul and got many belly rubs!”

“Katherine is great! I could tell within minutes of meeting her that she was capable and dependable. She sent pictures of our Riley during her stay, washed the sheets, and offered to come back if we got stuck in traffic. I can’t say enough good things and we will definitely be booking her again soon!”

“Robert was ABSOLUTELY fabulous! He was patient, thoughtful, and really communicative. From the moment we requested a sitter until after the service was complete, he was swift to respond, sent lots of pictures, and kept us updated on all the pet care rituals. He did not flinch when the breaker needed to be reset during a housesit, and he took such wonderful care of our tankgirl, Bailey. 5 stars, 2 thumbs way up, and a 3 snaps in Z formation! Highly recommend.”

“10/10! Dmytro was stellar in care of my dogs and taking care of our home. He took the time to do an initial meet and greet with me; he was thoughtful, communicative, very easy to work with, and sent lots of pictures of my dogs while I was gone. We came home to a clean home and my dogs loved him! Will definitely have him house- and dog-sit again - very very happy with experience. Thanks Dmytro!”
“Robert did such an excellent job. He maintains constant communication and sends pictures and updates. He is very friendly and our puppies adored him. He did so amazing with our reactive girl (10/10)”

“Veronika was great with Baxter. He was happy to see us but we could tell he was well loved and cared for by her. She sent pics and expressed a small concern (which we appreciated ) but turned out just fine. When we returned, it was like he was looking for her to walk in with us. We will definitely book her again.”

“Russell was great with our older dog and cat. He kept us updated and took our dog on great walks. He also took good care of our home. Even watered plants without being asked. He can be relied upon ti take great care of pets and home”
“I lost track of how many time Madeleine has watched Mona. Mona never cuddles anyone but has started to cuddle Madeleine and that just shows how comforting Madeleine is! There is constant communication and Madeleine doesn't make you feel bad about checking in often. She understands COMPLETELY how obsessed with our animals we were. She's hilarious, loving, kind, and gentle. I will never go with anyone else. Thank you, Madeleine!”

“Shawn did an amazing job watching our senior dog with separation anxiety. She spent so much time with him and sent us lots of pictures. When we came home our house was cleaner than when we had left and our dog was calm and happy!!”

“Li took such amazing care of Kuma and our home! She sent so many photo updates everyday of their walks, playtime, and even nap/rest time! Kuma can be an anxious dog, so we always try to find a sitter comfortable enough to handle her big emotions - Li was very knowledgeable about Kuma’s breed and behavior from previous experience caring for similar dogs, so we were immediately put at ease knowing Kuma was in great hands! Leaving for trips without our dog is always difficult, but Li made it so much easier for us. We will absolutely book with Li again!”

“Nicole took such good care of my dog Josie! Josie is nervous of new people but she warmed up to Nicole so quickly, I appreciated Nicole's understanding of nervous/particular dogs. She stopped in my apartment multiple times a day to take care of Josie, and I loved the daily update pictures she sent me. Thanks so much :)”

“Liv did an awesome job taking care of our boys and sending us photos and updates. Mike and Sully liked her so much, I think they were disappointed when we came home. Our house even smelled better when we got home than when we left!”

“We really enjoyed Justelle’s help taking care of our dog while we were on vacation. She was communicative, responsible and super loving. Very glad that our dog also made a new friend.”

About: Hi, I’m Cortney! 😊 I’m a proud dog mom to Kona, my giant Akita/Malamute mix. Caring for him has given me hands-on experience with giant breeds, leash handling, enrichment, and understanding different personalities. Since Kona is also reactive, I’ve learned how to safely handle dogs who need extra patience and space. I’ve also cared for cats for years and love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and routine. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, reactive, or a senior, I’ll take the time to get to know them and adjust my approach to what makes them feel most comfortable. I have a flexible schedule and offer dog walks, drop-in visits, non-overnight house sitting, and extended daytime care in your home. I’m happy to work with you to create a daytime and evening care schedule that fits your pet’s routine, whether that includes walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company. When available, I can also provide transportation to grooming appointments, daycare, boarding, or vet visits. Whether you need planned pet care or last minute help, I’m happy to help whenever I can! I know leaving your pet with someone else can be stressful, so I love sending plenty of photos and detailed updates to help you feel connected and give you peace of mind while you’re away. Your pet’s safety always comes first. On warmer days, I pay close attention to pavement temperatures and the weather. If it’s too hot for a walk, we’ll stick to a quick potty break and spend the rest of our time playing indoors or hanging out together.

Robert was ABSOLUTELY fabulous! He was patient, thoughtful, and really communicative. From the moment we requested a sitter until after the service was complete, he was swift to respond, sent lots of pictures, and kept us updated on all the pet care rituals. Erin stayed with my two cats for a few days this summer. She was very responsive when I first reached out to inquire about her availability. Once she was here, she was communicative and sent photos and updates of the cats throughout the stay. She left the house sparkling clean and cats were happy! I will be using her in the future! Thank you!!!

Kellie returned for a housesitting stay and yet again is the best ever. Her communication and thoughtfulness exceeded expectations and it was clear she genuinely enjoyed taking great care of our pup (who was tired and satisfied when we got home). The house was spotless upon return again which is a cherry on top. Thank you Kellie!

Shana was wonderful with our dog, patiently working with him through his separation anxiety, earning his trust and making Milo a very happy, well cared for dog! Shana communicated easily any questions and provided updates daily. And, our house was immaculate upon our return. Thank you, Shana.

Sophia communicated well and provided updates and pictures of Cody. She’s a kind person and likes to have fun with dogs, so I think Cody had a great time with her and her little sidekick Dolly. I felt good that Cody was enjoying his time while we were away, and probably not missing us too much.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kirkland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kirkland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kirkland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kirkland. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
