“Second time booking Anastasia and just as happy as the first time! Will definitely continue to book with her. She takes such great care of my pups and they’re always so happy when I get home.”

“We wholeheartedly give Shayna five stars! 🌟 She’s a true professional and has experience working with clients with complex needs (we are also “particular” parents 🤓): Her detailed updates and frame-worthy photos were beyond what we could have hoped for. She cared for our two velcro pups — our older, well-behaved one and our younger, rambunctious, slower-to-trust puppy — with such warmth. She kept to the feeding schedule and complex instructions (we premake and weigh out their food and feed every 5 hours 3x day), gave plenty of potty breaks, and added lots of playtime. She also handled feedback with ease when we asked for less peanut butter on the lick pads, and she even shared news when it wasn’t ideal such as one one of our pups getting sick from too much peanut butter 😅 When we returned, the house was tidier than we left it ✨ (blankets folded, dishes washed, and even helped bring our bins to the curb since we’d be gone over the long weekend). We couldn’t ask for a better partner in caring for our dogs. We’re already booked with Shayna again for house sitting and drop in visits. She’s on her way to becoming a trusted presence and we’re even teaching our pups who “Miss Shana” is 💖”

“Kira was an amazing dog sitter! One of our dogs has separation anxiety, and Kira did a great job keeping her calm and cared for. They also asked a lot of great questions to make sure they had all of the information they needed about our dogs while we were gone. They sent us pictures of the dogs and gave status updates while we were gone which was really appreciated! They were very flexible with time too, I was able to book them with just a few days notice, and had to stay out later than expected which was no problem for them. Overall it was a great experience, our pups seemed very happy. Thanks Kira! <3”

“Valerie came to a last minute call to tend to my Fat Bully Tink lol this was my first time booking an in house sitter and she did so Great !!! ; I really appreciate you Valerie ❤️ and I will be booking again !”

“Benjamin was absolutely amazing. We would love to hire him again. He sent daily updates with photos. He was honest about how our anxious doggo was behaving, and was extremely professional and experienced in getting her to calm down and accept him in her home. Our dog was on medications and Benjamin was also a professional at giving them to her. I feel so glad that he lives nearby so we can continue to book him!”

“This was our first time using Dmytro and it was great! Fast and consistent communication, worked well with multiple changes to the visit and sent pictures of two happy dogs!”

“Kayla was great with our 12 yr old labradoodle and 4 yr old kitty! She was able to help us out last minute when we need to be gone for 2 nights. She sent us pictures and updates, I could tell they were in very good hands and I came home to happy furbabies. I will definitely ask her to take care of them again.”

About: Hi, I’m Star! ⭐️ I’ve spent years caring for my own pets and helping out with friends’ pets when needed. I know every animal has a different personality, and I love getting to know what makes them happy. Whether that’s walks, playing fetch, belly rubs, or just hanging out together, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe and loved while you’re away! 🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my routine as a pet owner myself. For walks or drop-ins, I’m available any day of the week, with morning availability on weekdays and a flexible schedule on weekends. I’ll follow any instructions you leave for feeding, medications, routines, and anything else your pet needs. I’ll make sure they’re safe, comfortable, and well cared for, and I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would want someone to show mine.
“We used Katie for the first time to watch our dog, and she was fantastic! She was prompt, respectful, and an excellent communicator throughout the entire process. Our dog was happy and well cared for when we returned. We’ll definitely be using her again—highly recommend!”

“I would say Anatolii and Svitlana for our super anxious dog was a pure blessing. They were meticulous about Simba's walks and feeding . Our dog is super anxious and takes time to get comfortable with new people . Simba started warming up to them and eventually started getting on bed with them during the period of care. They understand dogs and will cater their care as per the dogs needs. They were sweet to accommodate Whatsapp video calls when we were in India and also sent multiple photos. I would say knowing we can reach out to Anatolii and Svitlana again for Simba is very comforting . I will highly recommend them for any dog parents.”

“Shawn did an amazing job watching our senior dog with separation anxiety. She spent so much time with him and sent us lots of pictures. When we came home our house was cleaner than when we had left and our dog was calm and happy!!”

“Carissa was an amazing sitter! She gave us steady photo updates of our pupper and kept us informed while we were out! I will definitely be booking Carissa again in the near future!”

“Stephani was such a wonderful sitter for our handful of dogs, that have their various needs (i.e., prescriptions) and strong personalities being huskies. Our doggos seemed instantly calm with her during the meet and greet, and when we returned they didn't want to leave her side. We are so appreciative of her staying with them and giving them such love and care!”

“We booked Sophia for our weeklong trip to watch our mini-zoo of 4 dogs and 2 cats and she was amazing! Responsible, respectful, and responsive. She was happy to comply with everything we asked of her, and even did plenty without us asking. Our house was pristine when we returned and our pets were all very happy and well taken care of, she even washed our rug when one of the dogs had an accident! We would definitely book Sophia again in the future if we have another trip.”

“Cory takes such good care of my fur babies! He is sensitive to which of them is not eating or behaving not as usual and is always diligent about following up with me and keeping me informed. I go home to happy cats and dog! He also does a great job keeping me informed and following up on the rare occasion that someone is ill. He does an awesome job!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kirkland
Sophia communicated well and provided updates and pictures of Cody. She’s a kind person and likes to have fun with dogs, so I think Cody had a great time with her and her little sidekick Dolly. I felt good that Cody was enjoying his time while we were away, and probably not missing us too much.

Uliana dos a great job! She adhered to my very specific instructions on feeding and playtime, provided plenty of updates, is always responsive to communication and is always on time. She also stayed later into the night to make sure my clingy dog is accompanied as long as possible. Would definitely recommend!

Shana is terrific. She’s very responsive to my pups’ needs, recognizing that they’re a bit out of sorts when their mom leaves them. She was especially responsive on this last stay which included the 4th of July. One of my pups is incredibly reactive to fireworks, and Shana went above and beyond to help her. I also really appreciate the regular sending of pics which make me more comfortable that they’re doing well.

Yulia was an incredible sitter for our senior cat Bella. She went above and beyond expectations, making sure Bella received her medications and treatments safely and comfortably, and even gifting Bella a new cat igloo because Bella soiled her old one. Yulia was very communicative, sending us photos and updates of Bella every day, letting us know how Bella was doing. Yulia cuddled with her, played with her, and put on calming cat music for her. Yulia was the ideal house guest, leaving our house just as clean as we left it, and even washing the sheets for us so we could come home to a freshly made bed after a long day of travel. I would recommend Yulia to anyone looking for a professional, experienced, personable, and lovely cat and house sitter.

We couldn’t be happier with how attentive and engaged Kellie was while watching our two dogs Lucy and Jelly. She stayed at our home and did everything possible to keep our girls happy and healthy. Lucy had a recent unexpected surgery, and Kellie kept us updated on how her incisions looked and made sure to keep her cone on to help her heal. Likewise, Jelly has medical issues and needs daily medication and has strict diet and food allergies and we came home to a perfectly happy and healthy pup! She kept us well informed throughout the stay with lots of pictures and updates and left the house immaculate. Will 100% be booking her again! Your dog will definitely be in great hands.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kirkland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kirkland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kirkland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
