“Chibi is a very sensitive Chiweeenie and we needed someone caring, compassionate, and trustworthy while we were away on vacation. Shannon has the characteristics we were seeking. She was very kind to Chibi, responsive to us, and took very good care of our home while we were on vacation. She also took care of extra home related tasks for us. When we came home we could tell Chibi was taken care of very well. We felt completely comfortable while we were away that Chibi was in good hands.”

“Sue did a great job watching my dog and house sitting. My dog and house were the same way I left them after leaving for 5 days. In addition, when my plane was cancelled and I had to take a later flight, Sue stepped up and stayed at my house a few hours later then what was scheduled. Sue is a reliable sitter.”

“Mary Ann took such great care of our sweet pups and our home while we were away. She sent updates and pictures of our dogs regularly which made us feel so much better about having to leave our newly adopted dog for a few days. I am so thankful we found Mary Ann and will definitely rebook with her!”

“Jessica was fantastic! She was incredibly professional and sent great updates. We were especially impressed by how she managed Alpha’s schedule to avoid noise from the nearby school, keeping him calm and happy. We came home to a happy dog and a tidy house. Highly recommended and would definitely book with her again!”

“Kory was Fantastic! We have two dogs, one of which is barely a year old. They have very spirited play and need separate walks, plus we have a cat who is picky about people, and we as pet parents are very anxious. Kory send many updates, great pics, was very thoughtful about their enrichment and getting to know them, and was very communicative about even small changes in behavior or digestion. Plus they left our house in great condition. We will absolutely keep booking with Kory!”

“Jenifer was absolutely amazing with our Chelsea. She stayed in our home, kept everything tidy and was the companion we needed for our pup. We will absolutely book Jenifer again and again!”

“Jenna was wonderful! From the moment we began corresponding, she was attentive and knowledgeable and friendly. She was so patient and gentle with our senior pup, and she made us feel so relaxed knowing our dog and our home were in such good hands. Jenna went above and beyond in so many different ways - making sure our dog got all of her meds, not an easy feat; finding creative ways to encourage her to eat when she was being finicky; communicating regularly with pictures and updates, and not hesitating to reach out with any questions or concerns. Jenna left our house spotless, like she hadn't spent over a week there, and her attentive touches to our home did not go unnoticed. I'm so grateful to her for making my trip as relaxing as it was. Jenna feels more like a friend than a dog sitter. She's trustful and kind, and I can't recommend her enough!”

“Sara is a wonderful Dog Sitter! I highly recommend her services. I returned from a week away to a house that was cleaner than when I left and a happy and content dog. She was very attentive to my sensitive dog’s needs. She also took the time to go to the store for dog food since I miscalculated how much to leave. She is a true professional when it comes to dog & house sitting. I hope to use her again for future vacations.”

About: I started working with animals in high school, accruing hundreds of volunteer hours at my local animal shelter, where I honed in on my passion for pet care. As I transitioned to university life, I started walking dogs on the weekends, and really enjoy getting to hang out and provide for other people's pets. I have open availability through most of the week, and for late-evening drop ins over the weekends. This allows me a lot of time and flexibility to devote to caring for your pets. Communication is key, and I strive to ensure all preferences are met during my visit/walk with your pet! I will frequently send updates, such as photos from during my visit/walk, and a little blurb about what your pet and I got up!
“You need to book with Katie. Katie is amazing. I ended up needing someone last minute and luckily she was available. She was flexible and accommodating so we could fit in a meet and greet prior to the booking dates. Katie took care of my two dogs and two cats. One of my dogs is shy and hesitant around new people and Katie was patient and won her over. I felt like Katie was very communicative and responsive. There were also few things Katie did around our house (without us making a request for her to do) that made it feel like she went above and beyond. I will definitely be booking with Katie again in the future.”

“Erica was great working with us to take care of our animals when I went into labor. She even missed a trip, which we truly appreciated so we knew our furbabies were going to be taken care of while we were in the hospital! She made up my bed and straightened up things in the house before she left, which was such a relief coming home with our newborn!”

“Emily watched our quirky dog for a long weekend. Everything went smoothly - working with Emily was clear and easy and we came home to a happy, healthy pup. Thank you, Emily!”

About: I’ve adored and cared for animals my entire life, from dogs and cats to guinea pigs and chickens! In addition to having many of my own (including currently a cat and two guinea pigs), I have experience pet sitting, walking, bathing, occasionally training, and otherwise looking after the lovely pets of my neighbors, friends, and clients. I’m no stranger to dogs that love to pull or cats that wake you up at 4am, and I would love to meet you and your best friend(s). I will soon be enrolled in a training program to become a certified veterinary assistant. While this will restrict my availability, I will still have plenty of time in my schedule to give your pet the best of care! Starting August 12th I will be taking classes to become a certified veterinary assistant, meaning I will not be able to accept bookings from 6am - 1pm on weekdays. I take being trusted with somebody's pet quite seriously. I have experience with pets with more special needs, and so am equipped to adjust to your pet's unique requirements: be that a different feeding schedule, oral medication, or otherwise!
“Kalyssa was great! This is the second time she’s watched my dog and cat. She stayed in my apartment and while there the fire alarm battery needed to be replaced. The chirping from this always causes my dog a great deal of anxiety. Kalyssa problem solved this and handled it so well. She did a great job of caring for my pets while dealing with this unexpected hassle. I would highly recommend her!”

“Annie house sit our little Dachshund Ollie for a week while we were out of the state. She went above and beyond in making sure Ollie was comfortable and happy. He warmed up to her right away which usually takes a little more time. Annie sent us daily pictures and updates which was much appreciated. Not to mention she was able to squeeze in daily walks and extra cuddling!😊 We highly recommend Annie and hope to have her doggy sit again in the future.”

“Jean was great with our puppy. She played with her, sent us photos and kept us up to date. We felt very comfortable with her in our house and watching our puppy. We will definitely hire her again.”
“As always, Nuora and Anthony took excellent care of our senior dog while we were on an extended international trip. Sent lots of pictures and updates and left our home so clean and welcoming to return to.”

Ben is a great pet sitter. He is responsive and takes the initiative to send us updates. He left the house clean, and was also willing to take the trash out, water the garden, etc. We definitely trust him to care for our animals and would recommend him for your pet sitting needs.

From the moment Elaina came over to meet and greet our furry boys to her saying goodbye to them on the last day of the sitting, she has been very communicative, accountable, punctual, and provided them with loving care while we were way. One of our dogs is going through cancer treatments and we were very worried about leaving him but Elaina provided such great care we were able to enjoy our time away and not worry. From daily walks to treats to hanging outside to providing lots of pets, we felt so comfortable with Elaina and the care she provided. The furry boys are looking forward to the next time they get to hang out with her!

Davied took such good care of our dog, Moose! We were out of town for a few nights and Davied kindly stayed at our home and made sure Moose was taken care of. He sent us ample updates and great pictures (how does he get them so high quality!) and we felt super comfortable with him being responsible for our boy. He also left the house in great shape. We'll definitely be using Davied again for our pet sitting needs!

Annie house sit our little Dachshund Ollie for a week while we were out of the state. She went above and beyond in making sure Ollie was comfortable and happy. He warmed up to her right away which usually takes a little more time. Annie sent us daily pictures and updates which was much appreciated. Not to mention she was able to squeeze in daily walks and extra cuddling!😊 We highly recommend Annie and hope to have her doggy sit again in the future.

Catie is absolutely wonderful and we will absolutely be booking with her again. She has a ton of experience with many types of dogs and you can tell immediately. She was so gentle with our dog that is usually skiddish and so understanding of our very demanding old man English bulldog. She kept our house so clean and went above and beyond everything. She was so understanding of me too and all my worries about leaving the dogs and intricacies that I prefer for them. She is kind and detail oriented and very communicative and sent pictures and messages everyday which put me at so much ease. Thank you Catie!!

Nancy took wonderful care of Charlie and Goose while we were away. Both dogs were happy and well cared for, and our house was in great shape when we returned. She went above and beyond, which was such a thoughtful surprise. We felt very comfortable knowing our dogs and home were in such capable hands and would happily book with her again!

Tyler was an excellent and respectful caretaker of my two dogs and home while I was away for the first time in 4 years! He responded promptly every time I reached out and kept me updated on the dogs during my absence. He proved to be a responsible and trustworthy young man, two thumbs up!

Stephani was amazing! We felt so comfortable leaving our pup, Albus, in her care. It was clear that Albus loved spending time with her and was very well cared for. She kept us updated with messages and photos throughout the stay, which we really appreciated and gave us so much peace of mind. She also took great care of our home. We couldn’t recommend her more—10/10! Albus can’t wait for his next stay with Stephani!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lake Forest Park on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lake Forest Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lake Forest Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lake Forest Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
