“Angelica helped us by watching our stubborn terrier mix Coconut when her regular sitter had a conflict for an overnight. We are so grateful to have her watch Coconut and she provided updates and pictures and helped arrange a hand off with the other sitter. Thank you so much we'll definitely reach out again in the future!”

“Maya was absolutely wonderful and took such great care of our two dogs! We had just moved to the area, and we were very worried about leaving our dogs alone for the first time and in a completely new place, especially because they are very anxious and always have someone home with them. But the dogs absolutely loved Maya and warmed up to her quickly! She was very communicative and sent us lots of pictures, and the house was spotless when we returned. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future as needed”

“Nancy is an amazing pet sitter. She stayed in our home for three weeks with out dog and two cats. She was great with communication and she also sent is daily pictures of each pet. She took some really good photos. I would highly recommend :).”

“Sebastian took care of our boys for our wedding/honeymoon. He worked with us and our event schedule so we could have time at home between events. As always our dogs loved him and he sent us some hilarious pictures of them playing which helped being away for over 2 weeks. Sebastian even watered our boxed plants. Highly recommend!!”

“Hannah stayed with my crew of pets for a 10 day trip and I was super happy with the experience. She was very communicative and sent photos and notes every day. I appreciated the check ins and knowing everyone was doing great. The house was in perfect condition when I arrived home which is a relief after such a long trip. Thank you Hannah! Bennett, Maui, Loki and Calypso look forward to your next stay :)”

“John watched our rambunctious 80 pound German Shepherd for the first time and he had great communication with us the entire time which eased my anxiety of leaving her with a new person. He got to the house exactly when he said he would and spent the entire day hanging out with her. Everything went really smoothly and we will definitely use him again because he is reliable and a good communicator.”

“Joe was amazing. He brought his dog Tala along for the sit. My dogs loved her. She is sweet, well mannered, and very well trained. They both entertained and exercised my two year old Viszla. Which is a lot of work! When I came home my house was cleaner than I left it. I would highly recommend Joe and Tala. Thank you so much Joe!”

“Mackenzie was absolutely amazing! I was so worried to leave my senior pets for 10 days but she put me ease with her kindness and experience. She had great communication and compassion towards my pets when they had an accident. I felt like she truly loved them as her own. We also loved getting photo updates throughout our trip- she even crocheted cute little hats for the dogs and cat. Would love to have her back to sit again!”

“Bricca is the best. Took great care of animals, left house in perfect condition, and was great communicator. Only problem is by leaving this review you’re going to want to book her!”

“Our pets (2 big retrievers) loved her instantly, even our shy one. Great communication and phenomenal job taking care of the pets and the home. Will have her back anytime!”

“Zachary did an exceptional job on watching all my fur babies. He followed directions for care perfectly. I highly recommend him for a sitter for both dogs and cats. I look forward to booking him in the future.”

“Meaghan did an excellent job taking care of our house and two spoiled senior chihuahuas, while we are on vacation for a week. She was professional, friendly and caring. Louie & Banjo got plenty of walks, cuddles, and attention, both dogs were happy and well cared for when we returned. The house was clean and well taken care of. Meaghan went above & beyond! We’re so grateful for all the love and attention she gave the dogs and the house. Highly recommend Meaghan to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter and house sitter!”

“I almost hate to write this, because Karen may get so busy that I won’t be able to book her! I can’t say enough good about her. Probably the best part was that she had my really anxious/antisocial pup relaxed in no time—and it was July 4. Fireworks going off all the time. Karen sent me updates and pics of both dogs on a regular basis. I do believe my house was cleaner than when I left it. Karen even contacted me for pooper scooper info. Wonderful energy. She is “the dog whisperer.””

“So grateful to Katlyn and Ashley for staying with our pups while we were on vacation! We had so much peace of mind while were gone and came home to happy dogs and a clean home. You two are the best!”

“Merilee did a great job taking care of our pets while we were gone for over a week. The communication was great, Merilee took a genuine interest in their health and well being and we came back to a well taken care of house and happy pets.”

“Catie cared for my old guy for a week while I was out of town. He presented a couple major challenges and Catie offered possible solutions and kept her sense of humor throughout the ups and downs. I appreciated her professionalism in communicating the issues and general updates. Her patience and overall focus on his well being made me feel very fortunate to have her watching my buddy. I would recommend her as a sitter to any one - and especially those with older quirky pets!”

“Holly took great care of our pup and our home while we were out of town. She was clearly very attentive to him and sent lots of updates throughout each day. We were able to relax and enjoy the trip knowing he was very well cared for!”

Arielle helped us out during an emergency when our other sitter cancelled and took over our dog's care. She was communicative, responsive, and respectful of the house. Our dog was so content and well socialized during his time with Arielle. Already have her booked for house sitting again.

Catie was an exceptional sitter for our 9month old dog Sage. She stayed in our house for 8 nights and left the space as clean as she arrived. She took great care of Sage, taking her to dog parks and walks. She was attentive and asked questions. She checked in daily. I never had a worry about Sages care. We will hopefully be booking her again in the future.

Erica did a great job house sitting for our two dogs and rabbit while we were away for the weekend. We were so happy to find someone who could stay at the house with them all day. We really appreciated how clean the house was when we returned and could tell our dogs were relaxed and well taken care of while we were out. Erica kept in touch and shared pictures of our dogs with us every day like we’d requested and I was confident and calm knowing they were being well cared for. I would happily hire her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a house sitter.

Joe was amazing. He brought his dog Tala along for the sit. My dogs loved her. She is sweet, well mannered, and very well trained. They both entertained and exercised my two year old Viszla. Which is a lot of work! When I came home my house was cleaner than I left it. I would highly recommend Joe and Tala. Thank you so much Joe!

Elaina was amazing with our dog! She took her for so many excursions, sent tons of photos, was very communicative, and treated our girl with as much love as we do! She left our house cleaner than how we left it and I think she even gave our dog a bath! We couldn’t have asked for a better first Rover experience!

We loved having Renee over to take care of our cat! While my cat was very shy and still adapting to our new home, she was in great hands the whole time. This is the first trip we're using Renee and the first trip where we came home to the cat being excited instead of upset. She even helped tidy up the place before leaving which is sweet and special. Thank you!!

Alyssa is spectacular. She took such great care of our dogs and they loved her. We loved the updates she sent and she was very communicative the entire time we were gone. Our house was pristine when we came home and she did lots of little extras we didn’t expect but really appreciated. Highly recommend!

I unfortunately didn’t have service for our trip. And being a helicopter mom it scared me BUT Michael did great, even sent me pictures of them, even though i didn’t have service i appreciated them once i received them❤️ I will 100% book again in the future and also recommend!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lynnwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lynnwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lynnwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lynnwood. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
