“Michelle is the BEST! Happy, healthy, safe pets from the moment we leave until the moment we arrive home. Amazing communication and the house is kept clean. We cannot say how thankful we are for Michelle! We do not worry about anything while we are away. It’s like family is taking care of our pets and house. 🫶”
“Shannon was the penultimate professional. She cared for our pup for 2 weeks and communicated daily with pictures of their activities. As a bonus, she also left the house immaculate. Highly recommend!”

“Hannah stayed with my crew of pets for a 10 day trip and I was super happy with the experience. She was very communicative and sent photos and notes every day. I appreciated the check ins and knowing everyone was doing great. The house was in perfect condition when I arrived home which is a relief after such a long trip. Thank you Hannah! Bennett, Maui, Loki and Calypso look forward to your next stay :)”

“Brandy was great with our senior dog! She was very attentive to our dogs needs, including administration of her medications and working through days when our dog was being a picky eater. She was very communicative and sent us lots of pictures, which we requested and appreciated as it gave us piece of mind while we were away. Our house was also very well kept. We will definitely use Brandy's services again in the future!”

“Carina took care of our Lab for four days and he had a great time with her. She was easy to communicate with, sent photos and daily updates. Having a stranger stay our house made me a bit nervous, but we had no other choice as our dog has new mobility issues, I had nothing to worry about with Carina. She came for a meet and greet in advance, asked lots of questions and really took care of the house. She even entertained my chickens with treats and collected the eggs. I highly recommend her as a pet sitter and would use her again without a second thought.”

“Kory was an excellent and professional dog sitter! He was quick to respond to my communications, gave detailed information, and provided me with pictures and videos of the dogs while we were away. It gave us great peace of mind to enjoy our trip! He managed medications, feeding schedules, walks, indoor/outdoor potty and barking issues were managed well, and our dogs were so happy! Will definitely hire again to care for our doggos.”

“Mackenzie was great with our cats. She has chill cat energy that our cranky eldest cat and our timid semi-feral youngest cat both appreciated. She was very responsive and sent us great pictures of the kitties and house details.”

“I have never used a house/pet sitter so I was a little nervous. Jessica did an absolutely awesome job. She sent updates by text, with pictures of how my dog was doing and news of what they did that day. Django is an older guy so I was happy that he was keeping to his habits and not stressing. My house was well looked after as well. I would highly recommend Jessica to house/pet sit. She’s a good one!”

“What a wonderful young woman Kaitlyn is, sweet, polite, and most of all great with dogs. She’s probably good with all animals we will certainly be using her in the future.”

“Chelsea provided excellent care to my Luna & Chloe. She sent picture, videos & text letting me know how they were doing. My home was well taken care of as well. I will definitely be hiring her again. Complete trustworthiness & responsible.”

“I'm so grateful Erica was able to stay with my dog Daisy in last minute. Communication was prompt and clear and she is clean and organized, so glad I found Erica and we'll definitely keep her in mind for future pet sitting!”

“Jenna is fabulous. Our little senior dog was lucky to have her around for the weekend. Jenna is a great communicator and detail-oriented so we felt very comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to have her sit for us again. Thank you, Jenna!”

“Alyssa has been amazing with our Luna. We are new dog owners and she has provided us so much information and good advice in taking care of Luna. Thank you so much for being patient. We appreciate you! ?”

“Mary Ann took such great care of our sweet pups and our home while we were away. She sent updates and pictures of our dogs regularly which made us feel so much better about having to leave our newly adopted dog for a few days. I am so thankful we found Mary Ann and will definitely rebook with her!”

About: I've taken care of both cats and dogs for family, neighbors, and friends for as long as I can remember. Feeding, walking, playing, scooping litter...I've done it all! I currently own two cats of my own and have raised them since they were kittens, and I used to have a family dog when I was younger, so I have a lot of experience in pet care! I'm a teacher looking to make some extra money over the summer break, so I currently have open availability for the next few months to take care of your furry friends! I can check in on pets anytime during the day and play with them for however long is needed! My top priority is making sure the owner feels comfortable knowing that their animal is being well-cared for. Building a relationship with your pet is important to me so that they understand that I am there to help them!
“Brittany took great care of our house and two kitties while we were gone for 5 days! Our boy cat has been having some litter box issues recently and she graciously handled it with no problem. Our kitties seemed happy and we came home to a clean house and she went above and beyond washing our sheets even though we never ask our sitters to do that for us.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Alderwood Manor
Tyler was an excellent and respectful caretaker of my two dogs and home while I was away for the first time in 4 years! He responded promptly every time I reached out and kept me updated on the dogs during my absence. He proved to be a responsible and trustworthy young man, two thumbs up!

Bee is truly an incredible doggo friend! She stayed with my Great Dane while I was on vacation and during some of the hottest days of the year. She rearranged the apartment a little bit to get better airflow and ensure my dogs comfort and, even while working, showed up exactly when Bella needed. They got to go on adventures, save baby bunnies, and share head bonks, all while keeping me informed through text. It was a pleasure working with her and I hope to work with her again in the future!

If you need a pet sitter you will not find better than Elaina! She genuinely cares about the animals she watches. Her communication on when she is coming and going is superb! I have a dog that can be tricky at times and she could not have been more skilled and patient. I will only hire Elaina to watch our dog. Thank you Elaina, We couldn't be more grateful!!!

Shae was so thoughtful and loving with our girls. Our pup has some layered medical needs and with Shae’s experience, we were able to sleep soundly while gone. She managed the two of them so well, and clarified and checked in to make sure on both pet sitting and house sitting concerns. Would rebook her in a heartbeat!

Amy was amazing! She was so patient with our nervous dog (who has trouble eating while we are away; she persevered and got him to eat!) and dealt with some last-minute medication and wound care for our other dog. She kept the house so clean, and she was highly communicative during the pet sitting.

Mackenzie was a really great sitter! She was quick to respond to my numerous check-ins — I was anxious about leaving Bang home with someone else for the first time in a while, and she put me completely at ease. She sent lots of pictures and even crocheted him a little party hat, which she left out on the table for us to find when we got home. The house was spotless when she left — she took out the trash, folded the bedding, and tidied up before heading out. I would 10000% book her again. She's amazing, and Bang clearly had a great time with her!

We had a great experience with both house and dog sitting. Both dogs were well cared for and we received many photos and updates while we were away. This was a huge decision for me to have my pets cared for in my home and I am very happy with the decision. The pets were happy and I can’t wait to book with Ellyssa and Hunter.

Zachary set-up a meet and greet to ensure chemistry, a good fit, etc. On the day of arrival he was on-time. Throughout the day he provided periodic updates with photos. I appreciate his kindness and gentleness as my dog is older with some special needs. Would definitely have him again!

Liv was amazing with my two pups! She sent great pictures and updates while I was away, and was super flexible in accommodating a few extra nights when my plans changed. I have two older dogs who have some additional needs, and she took care of them with ease. I highly recommend her for your pet care needs.

Karen was wonderful with our dog! She stayed with him in our hotel room for the evening while we were at an event and provided peace of mind to us so we could enjoy our evening. She was communicative and sent us pictures throughout the night so we could see how he was doing! Our elderly dog even showed interest when she was leaving for the night which he rarely does with strangers! Thank you Karen for taking care of Bruno!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Alderwood Manor on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 7,432 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alderwood Manor. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alderwood Manor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alderwood Manor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alderwood Manor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
