“Angelica was amazing! She stayed in our home with our dogs, sent lots of photos and videos. Both dogs were so comfortable and loved her. Our house was left in great condition when we got home. We would love to use Angelica again and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Mackenzie was great with our cats. She has chill cat energy that our cranky eldest cat and our timid semi-feral youngest cat both appreciated. She was very responsive and sent us great pictures of the kitties and house details.”

“Catie was an exceptional sitter for our 9month old dog Sage. She stayed in our house for 8 nights and left the space as clean as she arrived. She took great care of Sage, taking her to dog parks and walks. She was attentive and asked questions. She checked in daily. I never had a worry about Sages care. We will hopefully be booking her again in the future.”

“Zachary set-up a meet and greet to ensure chemistry, a good fit, etc. On the day of arrival he was on-time. Throughout the day he provided periodic updates with photos. I appreciate his kindness and gentleness as my dog is older with some special needs. Would definitely have him again!”

“Kristy was phenomenal!! My dog, Mochi, was clearly very well taken care of, along with my house. Kristy provided multiple updates throughout the day, was very thorough in her questions about care, and was always responsive. Mochi can be quite reactive to other dogs and Kristy did a great job managing this and letting him have fun on walks. It was truly so nice to have peace of mind during my time away - including over 4th of July! Will be booking again for sure and would highly recommend : )”

“Stephani was such a wonderful sitter for our handful of dogs, that have their various needs (i.e., prescriptions) and strong personalities being huskies. Our doggos seemed instantly calm with her during the meet and greet, and when we returned they didn't want to leave her side. We are so appreciative of her staying with them and giving them such love and care!”

“Sebastian did a great job taking care of our dog Tobin who is both leash reactive and epileptic. Sebastian gave our dog her meds on time and made sure she was happy and well-cared for. We appreciated the updates and pictures we got throughout the sit and look forward to using Sebastian as a dog and house sitter again in the future.”

“Candace is simply the best! They took such great care of our Nala while we were on vacation and we cannot wait to book them again the next time we are away. We received lots of pictures and updates on how Nala was doing while we were away and they took great care of our home too. We would highly, highly recommend Candace to anyone needing a caring and responsible sitter for their pet!”

“Merilee did a great job taking care of our pets while we were gone for over a week. The communication was great, Merilee took a genuine interest in their health and well being and we came back to a well taken care of house and happy pets.”

“Wenlin was very communicative without being overbearing - she gave brief updates of the pets and let me know that all was well on our short trip. I think the pets really enjoyed her because she sent pictures of them near here while she worked from home at our house. She also explored the neighborhood park with our dog Olie, which I am sure he loved. I am sure Wenlin will be a top choice next time we go out of town.”

“Jon was a delight to work with! He took great care of our dog and our house and left the house tidier than he found it. He is also a great communicator and very conscientious. We’re pretty sure our dog had more fun with Jon than he does with us :)”

“Aryana is wonderful and I will 100% be hiring her again for dog sitting! She sent great updates and my dog Ash looked SO happy and comfortable with her in photos. She went above and beyond to give my dog enriching days that included all his favorite things. Aryana was comfortable staying with Ash who has some special needs and sensitivity to being handled. She is clearly very intuitive with dogs and built trust immediately with him. She sent me a picture of him lying on his back on the couch in a state of total bliss. I knew he was in good hands!”

“Mary was absolutely amazing with our two high-energy big dogs who have a very specific routine. From the moment we met her, it was clear she has deep experience with all kinds of dogs and truly knows what she’s doing. She was so sweet and patient with them (which is not always easy to find!), and you could tell she cared for them like they were her own. She followed our instructions perfectly, kept the house in great condition, and sent thoughtful updates. I also really appreciated how honest and proactive she was...she let us know right away if anything came up. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such capable and loving hands. Mary is just all around a wonderful person, and we’d love to have her watch our dogs again. Highly recommend!”

“Annie was great with our two larger dogs-they loved the attention and cuddles they got from her and we came home to happy pups. She was a very conscientious housesitter as well and our place was clean and well taken care of. We would definitely book her again”

“We've had Holly walking our dog, Willow, for the past two years. We needed someone to housesit Willow for a trip we had planned and she was, as always, accommodating, communicative, and kind. We could not recommend Holly more!”

“Kory recently cared for our dog and cat in our home for 4 days while we were traveling. We couldn't have asked for a more communicative, attentive, and respectful sitter. We received morning and evening updates and pictures, and we didn't have a moment of worry - it was clear that our pets were in very capable and loving hands. Our home was also impeccably cared for. We will definitely book them again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mountlake Terrace
Danielle is a fantastic sitter! She did an amazing job watching our 2 pups for 2 weeks while we were out of the country. She communicated frequently on how they were doing and sent cute pics. I did not worry one bit knowing they were in her care, and she also took awesome care of our home! I highly recommend Danielle and will certainly be contacting her again! Frankie and Jarle say “thank you Danielle for staying with us”!!

Kaitlin took great care of Sully and Mia while we were away! She was thorough, asked all the right questions upfront, and communicated really well throughout the stay. We felt totally comfortable knowing they were in good hands and came home to two very happy dogs. Would definitely book Kaitlin again!

Halley was awesome! She was more than accommodating when we asked to do a meet and greet before our trip, of course our pets loved her. One of our dogs was on medication while we were gone and she was more than willing to help with that. She walked the dogs, kept them active, and was patient with our dog Charlie who loves to cuddle and is an attention seeker. We plan on using Halley again and recommend you use her for your Rover needs.

Catie was an exceptional sitter for our 9month old dog Sage. She stayed in our house for 8 nights and left the space as clean as she arrived. She took great care of Sage, taking her to dog parks and walks. She was attentive and asked questions. She checked in daily. I never had a worry about Sages care. We will hopefully be booking her again in the future.

Joe was amazing. He brought his dog Tala along for the sit. My dogs loved her. She is sweet, well mannered, and very well trained. They both entertained and exercised my two year old Viszla. Which is a lot of work! When I came home my house was cleaner than I left it. I would highly recommend Joe and Tala. Thank you so much Joe!

Elaina was amazing with our dog! She took her for so many excursions, sent tons of photos, was very communicative, and treated our girl with as much love as we do! She left our house cleaner than how we left it and I think she even gave our dog a bath! We couldn’t have asked for a better first Rover experience!

We loved having Renee over to take care of our cat! While my cat was very shy and still adapting to our new home, she was in great hands the whole time. This is the first trip we're using Renee and the first trip where we came home to the cat being excited instead of upset. She even helped tidy up the place before leaving which is sweet and special. Thank you!!

Deya was great with our babies. We had an unexpected need for medications which she managed without missing a beat. They were happy to see me upon my return but seemed as though they were looking for her! She was a great communicator and let me know how they were every step of the way.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mountlake Terrace walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mountlake Terrace maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mountlake Terrace choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
