“Maya was absolutely wonderful and took such great care of our two dogs! We had just moved to the area, and we were very worried about leaving our dogs alone for the first time and in a completely new place, especially because they are very anxious and always have someone home with them. But the dogs absolutely loved Maya and warmed up to her quickly! She was very communicative and sent us lots of pictures, and the house was spotless when we returned. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future as needed”

“Angelica is great! I have really bad separation anxiety from my dog and am a huge worry wart. But she provided endless amounts of pictures and videos to put my worrying at ease and always kept me updated on my dogs whereabouts. Will definitely book her again! 10/10 recommend.”

“Holly is an absolute dream to work with! We feel so comfortable knowing she is with our animals. Communication is easy and we always feel looped in to how our pets are doing while we're away.”

“Wenlin helped us so much while watching our dog Peppercorn! She was flexible and responsible when we were out of the country and had to coordinate with several other caregivers. We were grateful to have her help, she went above and beyond!”

About: Hi, I'm Leah, and as you might have guessed, I am a huge pet lover! I've been incredibly lucky to be surrounded by sweet furry friends my entire life - growing up with everything from dogs and cats to iguanas and birds - and I have adored every single one of them. As an adult, I raised an adorable corgi and currently share my home with two sweet black cats. I hold a very special place in my heart for senior pets and for those who need a little extra love & care. My beloved corgi, Bamboo, who has since crossed the rainbow bridge, had Degenerative Myelopathy (DM). Caring for him taught me so much about keeping pups cozy, happy, and comfortable. I truly miss him and miss having a dog in my life, so walking and looking after yours would bring me so much joy! I'm also a very proud cat mom to two precious black kitties who have taught me so much. My senior cat, Kanga, has Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC), which has made me well-versed in creating peaceful, stress-free environments for our feline friends. My other kitty, Kiwi, has asthma, so I'm completely comfortable administering medications, including inhalers and oral treatments. Since I'm self-employed as an artist, my schedule is wonderfully flexible and I'd love to chat about how I can help. If you happen to be looking for a house-sitter, I would truly love to help you out. I'm available for quick stays of 2 to 4 days at a time. I look forward to hearing from you, and tell your furry friend I said hi, too 🖤 Since I work from home as an artist, my schedule is wonderfully flexible! I can easily adjust my time to fit whatever works best for you and your pet. If I stay at your home, I'll be there to keep your furry friend company throughout most of the day since my work travels with me. Please rest assured that I will deeply respect your space, follow all of your household rules, and keep everything safe and secure (like food that is toxic to pets). I love building a bond of trust with pets by letting them set the pace for interactions.
“2nd time that Kristy looked after our girls. It was an overnight rover and she made sure to keep us updated and followed all of our instructions. We felt calm and safe that she could take care of our pups which is a great feeling. Would book again!”

“Annie was an incredible sitter for our dog. She is an excellent communicator - sending us pictures/updates each day as we had requested. Annie provided Woodward with all the specific care that he needed and didn’t hesitate to ask us questions when things came up which we really appreciated. She was a perfect houseguest as well. Woodward was clearly very happy and well cared for when we returned. Thank you so much Annie. I will 100% book her services again!!”

“John watched our rambunctious 80 pound German Shepherd for the first time and he had great communication with us the entire time which eased my anxiety of leaving her with a new person. He got to the house exactly when he said he would and spent the entire day hanging out with her. Everything went really smoothly and we will definitely use him again because he is reliable and a good communicator.”

“Deyaneira is an attentive and caring pet and home sitter! She was communicative, detailed and it was clear our home and cat were very well taken care of. We would definitely recommend Deyaneira!”

“Catie was an exceptional sitter for our 9month old dog Sage. She stayed in our house for 8 nights and left the space as clean as she arrived. She took great care of Sage, taking her to dog parks and walks. She was attentive and asked questions. She checked in daily. I never had a worry about Sages care. We will hopefully be booking her again in the future.”

“Michelle is amazing and cannot wait to rebook again! Our little animal kingdom of cats and corgis was well cared for over a long weekend, we received detailed daily updates, and lots of photos! :)”

“Laney took great care of our dogs while we were away. She checked in regularly and sent lots of pictures! She’s very easy to work with. This is our second time we’ve had Laney house sit for us, and we would be happy to book again!”

“Wow! Kyle was awesome! Great communication, super detailed and our dog LOVED him! Loved the regular updates and all the pictures he took after spending a couple of days with Quigley. Highly recommend Kyle and will definitely try to rebook him in the future. Thanks so much!!”

“Jon takes such good care of our dog Jax. You can tell how much Jax likes him. He gets so excited when Jon comes to our house. He also takes such good care of our house, and it is always so clean when we come home.”

“Mackenzie was great with our cats. She has chill cat energy that our cranky eldest cat and our timid semi-feral youngest cat both appreciated. She was very responsive and sent us great pictures of the kitties and house details.”

“Sebastian is an exceptional dog sitter who took incredible care of our two elderly dogs. He communicated effectively and went above and beyond our expectations. I felt completely at ease knowing that our dogs were in capable hands. Sebastian is professional, clean, and detail-oriented in his care. He managed to administer medications and feed our hypoglycemic dog at the right times, ensuring their health and well-being. He was also incredibly loving, attentive, and gentle with our dogs and kept the house very tidy. We recently moved here from Texas and were initially hesitant to hire a new sitter because we had a long-standing relationship with our previous one. However, Sebastian proved to be the absolute best, putting my mind at ease with regular updates and photos. If you’re looking for a kind, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter, I highly recommend Sebastian.”

“Nancy is an amazing pet sitter. She stayed in our home for three weeks with out dog and two cats. She was great with communication and she also sent is daily pictures of each pet. She took some really good photos. I would highly recommend :).”

“Stephani was such a wonderful sitter for our handful of dogs, that have their various needs (i.e., prescriptions) and strong personalities being huskies. Our doggos seemed instantly calm with her during the meet and greet, and when we returned they didn't want to leave her side. We are so appreciative of her staying with them and giving them such love and care!”

“Tyler was great with our feisty dog Juno. She went on some fun adventures and we came home to a happy dog and tidy house. Thanks so much and we’ll definitely book again in the future!”

Halley was awesome! She was more than accommodating when we asked to do a meet and greet before our trip, of course our pets loved her. One of our dogs was on medication while we were gone and she was more than willing to help with that. She walked the dogs, kept them active, and was patient with our dog Charlie who loves to cuddle and is an attention seeker. We plan on using Halley again and recommend you use her for your Rover needs.

Joe was amazing. He brought his dog Tala along for the sit. My dogs loved her. She is sweet, well mannered, and very well trained. They both entertained and exercised my two year old Viszla. Which is a lot of work! When I came home my house was cleaner than I left it. I would highly recommend Joe and Tala. Thank you so much Joe!

We loved having Renee over to take care of our cat! While my cat was very shy and still adapting to our new home, she was in great hands the whole time. This is the first trip we're using Renee and the first trip where we came home to the cat being excited instead of upset. She even helped tidy up the place before leaving which is sweet and special. Thank you!!

Deya was great with our babies. We had an unexpected need for medications which she managed without missing a beat. They were happy to see me upon my return but seemed as though they were looking for her! She was a great communicator and let me know how they were every step of the way.
We are so glad we found Jeanne. She takes such great care of our dogs, is very communicative and has great attention to detail. Leaves our place so clean and takes good care of the house as well. It makes traveling easier knowing our dogs are in good hands. Thank you so much Jeanne!!

Hannah is wonderful! A true animal lover. She pet sit while we were out of town for 11 days. Our 3 small dogs were very happy and cared for while we were away . We received daily updates & cute photos which I really appreciated!! I knew our fur babies were in good hands and didn't have to worry about them, and we could enjoy our vacation & relax. It's not easy to find a reliable & trustworthy pet sitter, but Hannah is exactly that. Thanks Hannah!! ;)

George was awesome as both a dog and house sitter while we were away for the weekend. He communicated well, kept our house tidy, and made sure our pup Lucy was well cared for. We returned home to a happy dog and it was clear he followed her routines. Would definitely recommend George!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 7,540 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Esperance. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Esperance walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Esperance maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Esperance choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Esperance. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
