“This was our second time hiring Baylee to watch our 3 year old lab. She did an excellent job keeping her exercised and well-loved. I appreciate that she looks over the information that we leave and sends multiple photos/updates throughout the day. It's so hard to leave our sweet girl home but knowing that Baylee takes such care with her makes it easier. In addition, our home is always spotless when we return. Baylee is a wonderful pet-sitter and cannot recommend her enough!”

“We needed someone to hang out with our dog and cat for several days while we were on vacation and Ryana did a great job watching our house and mammals. She even handled an unexpected internet technician visit with no fuss. My dog was happy and relaxed and got lots of good play time in the yard, I would call Ryana again next time we're out of town.”

“Zachariah was a pleasure to work with. Our two doggies instantly loved him! He has a kind demeanor and is a great communicator. We hired him for a 4 day stay over and he was responsible, respectful and clean. He sent us photos of our doggies every day and reached out when he had questions. We will be hiring him again in the future.”

“Carlynn took great care of our pups and home while we were away for a week. She kept us up to date with pics and is a great communicator. She respected our home and even helped with a little laundry before she left. When we got home our boys were happy and we were happy. We hope to book with her again in the future.”

“Bethany was an amazing dog/house sitter! She was thoughtful, kind, respectful, quick to reply and tidy in our home. She sent us updates of our pup, along with pictures, various times over the few days we were away. It was so nice to hear from her and know that things were going well. She is a genuine dog lover who was so sweet with our baby and was a pleasure to talk to in general. We would definitely re-book Bethany for any future travel plans and would recommend her to anyone:)”
“Nancy was absolutely fantastic with my 8 month old puppy. She stepped in at the last minute and saved my work trip. She checked in with me and sent pictures daily. My puppy was sick and to take medication and she was fantastic with her. I will definitely use Nancy again!”

“Ashlynn took great care of our Bandit. She worked around our schedule and sent plenty of pics of Bandit playing, napping, and being goofy. We came back to a happy pup!! Thanks Ashlynn!”

“Arielle helped us out during an emergency when our other sitter cancelled and took over our dog's care. She was communicative, responsive, and respectful of the house. Our dog was so content and well socialized during his time with Arielle. Already have her booked for house sitting again.”

“Kylie was an excellent dog sitter for our Remi. We couldn’t be happier! Our dog is not an easy one to care for, high energy, stubborn, very active and in your face a lot-Kylie was so good with her and followed Remi’s schedule. We will definitely be booking her again. We highly recommend Kylie’s services.”

“Kaitlyn was kind, professional, and very considerate! I greatly appreciated the daily report cards and updates. My kitty was clearly content and happy when I got back. She did a wonderful job!”

“Noelle did a great job with our babies once again! Communicative, on time, sends lots of pics, and gives great care for our two boys. And she did a great job taking care of our house and plants!”

“Meaghan did an excellent job taking care of our house and two spoiled senior chihuahuas, while we are on vacation for a week. She was professional, friendly and caring. Louie & Banjo got plenty of walks, cuddles, and attention, both dogs were happy and well cared for when we returned. The house was clean and well taken care of. Meaghan went above & beyond! We’re so grateful for all the love and attention she gave the dogs and the house. Highly recommend Meaghan to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter and house sitter!”

“Katlyn and Ashley are wonderful dog sitters for our girls. We have a pup who needs medications for seizures and another who is a guardian breed and needs extra attention. They were attentive to the dogs, sent pics, communicated well, and most importantly gave us peace of mind! We will definitely have them care for the pups again!”

“Bricca is awesome! She watched my dog and my home for a week and provided daily pics of Poppy for me. She’s an excellent communicator. The house was just as I’d left it and she laundered everything she used. Would definitely hire her again!”

“Brandy was great with our senior dog! She was very attentive to our dogs needs, including administration of her medications and working through days when our dog was being a picky eater. She was very communicative and sent us lots of pictures, which we requested and appreciated as it gave us piece of mind while we were away. Our house was also very well kept. We will definitely use Brandy's services again in the future!”

“Zachary set-up a meet and greet to ensure chemistry, a good fit, etc. On the day of arrival he was on-time. Throughout the day he provided periodic updates with photos. I appreciate his kindness and gentleness as my dog is older with some special needs. Would definitely have him again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Martha Lake
Rowena continues to be our favorite sitter! Our kitty has special needs - pills every night and an inhaler twice a day. We always know she is well taken care of when she is in Rowenas care. She recently stayed at our house for over 2 weeks while we were on our honeymoon. Rowena takes great care of our house too - even watered my plants. So grateful we have found her and will continue to use her whenever she is available!
Mary and Olivia were wonderful with Hendrix. They were kind, attentive and clearly took great care of him. They came prepared, asked thoughtful questions and I felt very comfortable leaving Hendrix with them. I really appreciated their communication. Would definitely recommend them to other pet parents.

Ashlynn was early and very sweet. She had great interactive ideas on how to help with his fighting and seem to be very engaged which I really appreciated. I would absolutely use Ashlynn again and for longer such as overnights and trips. Really appreciate her compassion.

Noelle was so good with my elderly cat who had all sorts of health issues while she was taking care of her, on top of being diabetic and needing insulin. I tend to be very anxious about leaving my cat and Noelle’s competent and direct demeanor really put me at ease while I was traveling and far from home. My cat also doesn’t warm up to new people very fast but was sleeping with Noelle on the first night and demanding all the pets. It was such a relief knowing she was well cared for. I’m so glad I found Noelle and would hire her again in a heartbeat.

I unfortunately didn’t have service for our trip. And being a helicopter mom it scared me BUT Michael did great, even sent me pictures of them, even though i didn’t have service i appreciated them once i received them❤️ I will 100% book again in the future and also recommend!!

Nuora had watched Woody several times for us and always provides excellent care. This time, she had to navigate a health scare for him while we were away and did so with amazing compassion, communication, and response. We are so grateful to you Nuora, for how you navigated this challenging experience with us and making sure Woodward got the best of care. <3

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Martha Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Martha Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Martha Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Martha Lake. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
