About: I got to spend 10 lovely years with my dog Kai before she passed the rainbow bridge at 15. She was the best walking buddy I could have ever asked for. We've explored the area for the last 10 years, and I've learned of some of the best grassy fields, forests, and trails around. I am available from 8am to 8pm for walks. When the sun is still setting at 9pm, I can do late night walks up to 10pm. I have a house with a large fenced backyard complete with grass and shade. There is access to inside via a doggy door through the garage.

About: I absolutely love dogs! I grew up with a black lab and helped take care of him, but started as a formal dogsitter for neighbors and friends when I was about 16. My husband, Matt, and I are active people, and walk our 3-year-old, mixed-breed pup, Cedar, around 2 miles a day. I've looked after dogs of all sizes, including extra large, as well as senior dogs that require both oral and topical medications regularly. I work from home with Cedar on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and bring her into my dog-friendly office in Fremont on Tuesdays and Thursdays. When at home, she goes for 2 one-mile walks a day. When in the office, she walks a little less than that, but spends the day playing with the other dogs in the office (and your dog can, too!). I'm happy to stick to the routine you have in place for your dog as closely as possible. We live in a house with an unfenced yard and a spacious balcony, so easy access to the outdoors.

Samantha was exceptional in her treatment and tactics of our dog Willow, an Australian Mixed/Mutt that weighs about 50lbs. From the first interaction, she asked the right questions, interacted with our dog appropriately, and carried herself professionally during pickup and drop off. As the week went on, Willow became more engaged and excited to see Samantha, a positive sign of their interaction(s) when I wasn't present. She was very punctual except for one day (only 8 minutes past agreed time), and texted an appropriate warning in advance that she was running behind. While I/we don't need her services long term (I was recovering from a gout flare necessitating needing a dog walker short term), I/we would absolutely work with her again if need arose.
