“My dog Ninja is very high energy and requires sitters with a bit more experience. Brandon is extremely knowledgeable and patient working with larger/ active dogs. He was able to watch my furbaby last minute, adjust to his needs, and send pictures throughout the stay. Highly recommend!”

“Mylyn was a wonderful host for Bentley. She made him feel welcomed and I know he was well taken care of! Mylyn was great at providing updates to ease my mind as this was my first time using Rover. I would highly recommend Mylyn to my friends and family for future stays.”

“Always a great experience for Gigi. Our little girl loves coming to stay with Kathy and Craig. I love knowing she’s happy and well cared for when we can’t be with her. Fun for pup and peace of mind for us ... that’s a win-win.”

“We LOVED Beth!! She gave us so many updates and photos of how our pup was doing, with lots of details so we knew he was being treated well and getting lots of cuddles! We could even tell how happy our dog was staying with her, when we picked him up he was so calm and we could see how much he liked Beth too! In the past when our dog had been watched by another Rover sitter who had upwards of 10 dogs in the house, when we would pick our dog up he would whine/cry & be shaking for at least 10-20 minutes. But with Beth when we picked him up he was cool as a cucumber and we could tell that his stay with her was calm, pleasant, and filled with lots of cuddles. We also got to meet the other 2 ladies who lived there, and it was nice to see how dog friendly everyone was. We would 1000% choose Beth again to watch our pup!! I cannot recommend her enough! Thank you Beth!!”

“I have been sending my one year old puppy Kahlua to stay with Marina and Richard since she was 8 weeks old. I always receive updates and pictures daily and my Kahlua comes home exhausted from running around the big backyard and playing nonstop with their kids. I am so fortunate to have Marina and her family to send Kahlua to when I am traveling!”

“Danika is a sweet lady that truly cares about the animals in her care. Which is a relief when leaving my baby. He thinks he's supposed to go everywhere with me but loves going to Danika so it eases him as well. Thank you Danika ❤️”

“You’re the best! Our favorite pet sitter ever! Our dog is always so excited at drop off and doesn’t want to leave you when we pick her up. You take such amazing care of our precious pet!”

“Rya did such a wonderful job watching our two pups while we were away on a longer trip! Even when one of them had stomach issues, Rya took extra care to feed softer foods and make sure they were on the mend. Rya was very communicative the whole time, asked questions, and sent lots of pictures. She really cared about our pups and they loved her! Thank you so much, Rya!”

“Ben and Sarah were amazing and so great with Oliver!! It was clear Ollie felt comfortable around them and was given plenty of attention. I received daily updates with pictures of Ollie looking happy as ever! They made sure he was very well taken care of and gave me a very detailed synopsis once I got back to pick him up. He was walked, given lots of play and outside time, well-fed, and given LOTS of attention and cuddles! Would definitely use them again!”

“Martha was so great with Simon. This was Simon's first time with a sitter and he is a rescue pandemic puppy. She sent us lots of photos and kept us updated throughout his stay. Already booked Simon's next stay with Martha!”

“Thank you for taking excellent care of Plum!! It was a big help knowing she was in great hands with people who care about her. She’s looking forward to returning! Thank you!”

“Meg and Daniel were WONDERFUL!! I have no doubt that Nola had the very best time while in their care. They proactively read other reviews from past sitters and were ready to make my dog feel at home as soon as she arrived. Their communication was great, and I also enjoyed getting to know them during drop-off and pick-up. Any time I need a sitter moving forward, I will definitely check to see if they're available!”

“Jennifer took wonderful care of my two rescue Chi mixes who can be a little nervous and reactive. She took them for a walk and sent pictures of them cozied up during their stay. Our first overnight was a success! I also appreciated the care and attention she showed during our initial meet and greet. She is kind and patient and I feel comfortable leaving my beloved pups with her. They were happy to come home when she graciously brought them out to my car.”

“Vashti was amazing! She took such great care of my little Teddy! Took him on walks/hikes, gave him full access to a huge fenced in backyard and he became best friends with her golden retriver. Great communication as well. Teddy will be back for sure!”

“They did a great job taking care of our two dogs. They took pictures, walked them and communicated daily. Highly recommend and would use their house sitting service again, great family!”

“My dog Baloo had a blast with Alex and his family! He stayed there for 5 days over Christmas break and he seemed pretty sad to leave. Alex had us over for a meet and greet before and we got to check out their doggy overnight set up with spacious crates for multiple dogs and even doggy tv! They have a huge yard which Baloo seemed to take full advantage of and he even made good friends with the other puppies they were sitting. Alex took care of Baloo like his own dog and have regular updates with photos and videos of what he was up to!”

“Sara was great, really wanted to make sure that our guys would be comfortable and did a walk through before a long weekend. One of our boys had a little tummy ache while there and Sara called immediately and gave me the details. I appreciated her approach and communication!”

Jenae is a fantastic, trusted sitter. She watched our nervous, shy dog during the 4th of July weekend, and it went very well. We got regular updates, and we were comfortable and assured leaving our pup with Jenae. This was our second time booking Jenae, and we'll choose her again the next time we're out of town.

Ashley was so wonderful! She took such great care of our senior lab, Yogi. Communication was excellent, pickup and drop-off were seamless, and she sent sweet photos throughout his stay. It was obvious Yogi was well cared for and happy. We’d absolutely book with her again!

Isabella saved our trip after our normal sitter canceled last minute (the day before our departure) and looked after our doggies with so much car. Both dogs came home tuckered out from their walks outside and slept soundly when we got home. Isabella sent photos and updates throughout our trip to ease the anxiousness of leaving out pets with a new sitter. Will definitely book again in the future.

Tyler and Amanda took such good care of our dog, and was so thoughtful to send frequent updates and ask thorough questions. We were frequently reassured that our pup was in good hands while we were away. Extremely thoughtful and responsive, I would highly recommend and use again in the future.

Very communicative about my dog! Gave updates and pictures throughout the day. When my dog had a problem with allergies she immediately took him to the vet and made sure he was okay. She thoroughly made me feel okay during a stressful situation! Will definitely rebook on a long trip.

Kizzie is always our preferred sitter for our elderly kitties, and this was our first time having our kitty Ginger boarded with her for 2 weeks, instead of drop-in visits. As always, Kizzie went above and beyond in her care, giving Ginger plenty of play time, brushies, and handling her diaper + air-out time like a pro. 🧼 We loved that she gave her yard exploration (one of her favorite things at home), was extremely thoughtful with how she introduced her own kitty Moco (while they ended up not being bffs, them being in the same room and relaxing said volumes! 💖). It's very obvious that Kizzies cares for cats in her care as if her own, down to laundering the reusable diaper covers we use for Ginger! If I could give 8 stars out of 5 I would, and absolutely recommend her every time. 😁 Thank you as always, Kizzie, appreciate you so much! 🙏🏽

Daniel, Joelle and their family took care of my sweet boy. They were so fabulous to him. His daily trips to parks or the beach kept him entertained. The pictures I got made me feel so happy to see him so engaged. I've already arranged for them to watch him again later this summer. I felt very comfortable having Mickey in their home. A+!!
Tony was great! She was close by and had a big fenced yard with no kids and no pets just like I requested. Sugaree had a rough early life that resulted in some anxiety issues. Tony knew just what to do to help her feel comfortable for a long 2 week stay. She provided updates and photos regularly so I wouldn’t worry and had no problem when I had to pick Sugaree up a bit late. Highly recommended!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
