“Kristina responded quickly to my last minute request. She was open to chatting with me to learn about him and how she could make him comfortable. Even though my dog has some behavior problems, Kristina was still open to working with him. She kept us up to date with pictures and comments on how he was doing. She treated my dog very well. I wouldn't hesitate to have Kristina watch my dog again in the future.”

“Daisha and her husband were amazing!! My dog Xena does best in a household where she is the only dog and I’m so glad we found Daisha! We did a first introduction about a week or two before the dates booked so they could meet and get familiar with each other which went well. While Xena was boarded they sent pictures and updates at least once a day explaining how she was doing and adjusting. Thankfully Xena was comfortable and there were no problems but I’m certain if there was, we would be able to find a solution. Overall I am extremely happy I booked with Daisha and her husband and would definitely book again!!”
“Left our dog with Erica for a week and she was awesome. Had really great, caring questions for us prior to the stay that made it clear she really cares about the dogs she watches. Got daily updates with photos, would definitively have her watch our pup again.”

“Maria and Kalyan (and Nikko) made Millie feel so welcome and treated her as their own during her 6 night stay with them. Her and Nikko seemed to really get on, and we got lots of cute pictures of walks, play time, treats, and relaxing time! I felt so relaxed leaving Millie in their care. She’ll be back for sure!”

“Sharon was very attentive and caring of our little dog Suzie during her recent 4 day stay. We had used the same dog boarder for almost 9 years and were very nervous about a new person but from the meet and greet and throughout her stay Sharon was interested in what would make Suzie comfortable. We appreciated the pictures and messages about how Suzie was doing. Thank you so much Sharon and hope you are available in the future. ”

“Donna was absolutely lovely and sent many pictures of my puppy's stay with her. My dog loves to be held and snuggle and she obliged. My dog was completely happy and at ease when I came to pick her up.”

“Absolutely the best sitter Kobe has ever had! She treats him like family and Kobe loves seeing her! This is our 2nd or 3rd stay with her and she is just absolutely amazing! I have no worries when I’m leaving my fur baby in her hands! Lots of pictures, love, and care!!!”

“My dogs had a wonderful time at McKenna's house! They got along great with Jaxx, and I could tell how happy they were from McKenna’s daily updates. Both of my dogs are seniors who need extra care and medication, and McKenna took good care of them. She was easy to communicate with and always attentive to their needs. Highly recommend!”

“Ashley was awesome! I had major oral surgery and needed him cared for so I could heal without having to worry about my dogs care and she took such good care of my migi and sent me lots of updates and photos in the 6 nights she had him. She was very accommodating as well when we needed to change or do things differently in migi’s favor. Will def book her again in the future! Highly recommend 10/10.”

“This was Sassy’s first stay with Kaylie. She did great! Kaylie communicates quickly and often. She sent pictures and a video. Even though I could see that Sassy was really happy to see me, she was also clearly very comfortable with Kaylie. Major relief! Strong recommend!”

“After reading dozens of profiles and hundreds of reviews, we decided to go with Richard and we are so happy we did! He has taken care of our whippet a couple of short days and then we left her with him for this past weekend when we went out of town. Richard did an amazing job of keeping us updated with lots of messages and photos, which put our minds at ease so we could enjoy our time away. He clearly loves dogs and showers them with affection and attention. He is a great communicator, has a wonderful home and yard, and his two little dogs, Beans and Rizzo are adorable and welcoming. We highly recommend Richard and most definitely will be a repeat client!!!”

“Irey is the best. We had a great experience! He always sent us photos of our dog and responded to our messages very quickly. We would definitely leave our dog with him again without hesitation. Highly recommended!”

“Okay, first I should start by saying Luisa did a great job taking care of Piper. I had a business trip, that took me away for a week and was worried about leaving my pup. Luisa sent pictures and updates every day, which helped with my worries. If you need overnight, or even daycare, give Luisa a shot!”

“My shy cat Ollie thrives when he visits Kizzie! She thinks of everything for his well-being. I wish there were more Kizzies in this world - we would all be the better for it.”

“My pup radiates happiness when she arrives at Kimiko's house and in every photograph and video. The dogs' relationships are obviously very intentionally evaluated and Kimiko lays the groundwork for positive relationships.”

“They were so good to our dogs and gave us so many updates. They were also super communicative which was really appreciated. If the timings work out again we would trust our dogs with them in a heartbeat.”

“Maureen is wonderful! She provided frequent updates and pictures and our pup was really excited to see her after doing a meet and greet a few days before.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
