“Dennis and Lynn were fantastic sitters for our girls. We could tell they were right at home with them and enjoyed the stay. Dennis and Lynn were great communicators. They kept in touch before and during the stay which helped ease any worry for us.”

“My girl had a wonderful time and Keana was a fantastic host for her. She got lots of walks and attention while I was away. Keana was a perfect host for an anxious dog mom. I enjoyed all the photos of their adventures together and am glad to know I have a great dog sitter for the next time I’m out of town!”

“I drive out of my way to take my anxious pup to Rose and Jesse. They go above and beyond to meet her needs and my dog always returns a little better than we left her. Truly, they carry such a loving calming energy. If you’re looking for a safe space for your anxious dog, this is it. Trust. 🫶”

“Jennifer watched my pup Phinney this weekend and it looked like he had a blast!! She was responsive and kind, making time for a meet and greet before. We will definitely be reaching out in the future and are so appreciative for her (and Argus!!) who took great care of our fur baby.”

“Yessica cared for my pup, Cooper, as if he was her own. She sent me updates and photos throughout his stay and he looked very relaxed and happy. I would definitely recommend her as a rover.”

“I loved the care she provided! She was informing me of the activities my dogs did during the day along with pictures, reassuring me they were happy and well!”

About: Hi there! I grew up with dogs and for the last nine years, have been a mom to my beloved chiweenie named Fynn. Friends, family members, and clients trust me with their dogs, for both short and long term stays, and I’d love to care for your pup. Fynn is very active, so we do at least two long walks a day. I live in the North End, so frequently walk in Puget Park and am always happy to take pups to Point Defiance depending on exercise needs. Of course, if your dog needs more rest, I’ll take that into account as well. I have experience caring for senior dogs and administering medication. I am in academia and currently on my summer break, so I’m home most of the time. Your dog will rarely be alone. Please reach out! Can’t wait to hang with your pup! I work from home and have a flexible schedule. I am free on weekdays and weekends as needed, and am available for both shorter and longer term stays. I live in an apartment but take frequent dog walks and bathroom breaks as needed. I have a nine-year-old chiweenie named Fynn who loves other dogs and will be a great buddy to your pup. I’m close to parks and Point Defiance so your dog will get plenty of exercise!
“Very personable and friendly. Great with our dog River right off the bat. Got pictures throughout the boarding, which made it easier. Her dog and River got along well!!”

“Lesly and her family were the best host for our girl! They made her feel so at home over the holidays, sent periodic updates and pictures and made the whole process so easy. We would 100% book again with her!”

“Truly not enough good things to say about Ethan and our experience with him caring for our dog, Taco. From the beginning, Ethan was super responsive and easy to communicate with him. We right away felt at ease leaving our dog with Ethan and it just worked out perfectly. Every day, Ethan sent us videos and pictures, and it was clear he was loving on our dog as much as he does his own. I’m usually a worry wart when it comes to leaving my dog with anyone. Not this time. And Taco even came home smelling fresh, Ethan bathed him before pickup! More importantly, Taco was a happy pup.”

About: I have always been in a home with pets. Currently have our dog (6yr) Cooper, 2 cats (Tobi and Lola), as well as a guinea pig. I work in office these days and only available evenings and weekends. During the summer my kiddos love to want money so have taken up some walking and daycare. My dog and I enjoy a good nature walk/hike during the day while the kids are at school and then sometimes a big adventure on the weekends. Our cats and guinea pig couldn't be more loved and cared for. They all thrive and enjoy each others company as well as my kiddos.
“Oneeda was great! She sent daily updates and pictures about Crudo. On our last day of our trip we had flight delays and Oneeda was very understanding and watched over Crudo a little longer. Will definitely use her again. Thank you”

“Marisol is the best! Last year, I had to board Conrad while I traveled for work. I chose a reputable doggy daycare and boarding near my home. It did not go well! Too many dogs and Conrad did not get any individual care, then got sick from it to top off the bad experience. So, when I had to travel this time, a friend said they had good experiences with Rover. Looking at profiles, Marisol and her home looked like a good fit for my senior little guy. Marisol, her home, and Twinkie were a perfect fit! Conrad struggles with separation anxiety usually, but Marisol’s routines fit mine and Conrad settled right in! I appreciated knowing he was getting lots of loves and attention through daily pictures and updates Marisol will definitely be our go to sitter when needed in the future!”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care, Miller & Porter, received! From the start, communication was excellent and I felt completely at ease leaving my babies in Jen’s care. I received daily updates with photos of my happy, healthy guys, and Jen went above and beyond providing items I missed and accommodating changes. Truly reliable, professional, and wonderful. TYSM!”

“Erin and her family were so wonderful!! They gave my mini aussie ample attention and love. He can be anxious when I’m gone, but with Erin, he had his own vacation while I had mine! I highly recommend 🫶🏻”

“Brittany and family were once again amazing. Our Frenchie injured himself the day prior to our drop off. Brittany and team took excellent care of him and even picked up medications for him. It was a relief knowing our loved ones were under such great care while we were traveling out of the country.”

“I was able to board my dog Tex at Leslie’s on short notice and it turned out to be a great fit. Her dog Bruce is very well trained and got along great with my dog, who’s more interested in human friends than other dogs. She was able to administer his medication with no issues and kept the pups happy and active. She’s reliable, communicative, and took great care of Tex. I will definitely board my dog with her again! :)”

“I have all great things to say about Priscilla! We booked her for the first time last minute. She was able to find time during the week for our dogs to meet her pup and her. She has a fantastic back yard for lots of play. She was super communicative and best of all the boys loved her! We have 2 cattle dog mix puppies that can be a bit of a handful at times and she managed them like a dream. We will be booking with her again in the future!”

“Sarah watched our two pups, Leo and Penny, for around a week and she was so great! Sarah and her husband are such nice, genuine people and took such great care of our babies. I felt so relaxed on vacation knowing that they were in great hands. Sarah sent daily pictures and updates so I knew how they were doing and what they were up to, which I really appreciated. The pups had a blast and were happy and exhausted when we picked them up. I will definitely book with her again! :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ruston
Miranda did a wonderful job watching my dog, Moose, for a 2 week long vacation. I trusted her to take good care of him and based on the photos she sent, it seems like he had an enjoyable time with her dog, Fynn. She was communicative the entire time and accommodating when I needed to extend my trip by 2 days. I would recommend her as a sitter!

We had been struggling to find the right boarder for our anxious dog, and we’re SO glad we found Tobi. We really appreciated that she checked in with updates as he settled in, and before long, he was clearly happy and relaxed! He usually takes a long time to warm up to strangers and isn’t a big snuggler, so it’s a testament to their skill with anxious dogs that I got multiple pics of him snuggling with different people on their big cozy couch. We loved the photo updates, and we had a relaxing trip knowing he was in good hands. We will definitely rebook!

Absolutely outstanding dog sitter! Reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. Communication was excellent, and our dog was happy, relaxed, and well cared for when we returned. I especially loved receiving the happy photos of Gunner while we were away. We felt completely at ease knowing everything was handled so well. Highly recommend on every level!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
