We had to take an early flight the next morning and we were scrambling to find someone. She was so nice and understanding of our situation. We know our fur baby had a great time with her family. Would not hesitate to choose her next time we need to board our puppy.”

“I was able to board my dog Tex at Leslie’s on short notice and it turned out to be a great fit. Her dog Bruce is very well trained and got along great with my dog, who’s more interested in human friends than other dogs. She was able to administer his medication with no issues and kept the pups happy and active. She’s reliable, communicative, and took great care of Tex. I will definitely board my dog with her again! :)”

About: Are you looking for a caring and reliable sitter for your small dog while you’re at work? I’m a retired nurse with a lifetime of experience caring for dogs. My previous pet passed away several months ago, and I miss the companionship. I’m offering daytime dog sitting in my home for a well-mannered, fully house-trained dog (20 lbs or less) who gets along with other animals. Your pup will receive plenty of love, attention, and care in a safe, comfortable environment. My husband and I have a 12 year old Vizsla who is very friendly. She is mostly an indoor dog. We are located near several parks which we frequent almost daily.
“Kelly did an amazing job helping my quirky dog feel very happy and comfortable during the week she stayed with her! Kelly was communicative and sent great photos of Goldie every couple of days. She obviously has a lot of experience with rescues, and is very kind and patient. We will absolutely use her again when we travel!”

“This was our 2nd stay with Jill & Glenn— our pup was SO excited to see them again! It’s so wonderful getting to see them and our boy creating their own little bond. We know that he enjoys his little mini vacations just as much as we do, and it gives us such peace of mind when we’re away. 5 stars everytime!”

“My dog loved his vacation with Dana and the family!! He was so comfortable he didn’t want to come home… not kidding! I am happy to know my dog has a new vacation spot when we are away for our travels.”

“Michelle and Samuel are the absolute best! My dog pit mix, Lazarus had the best time with their personal dog, which are BFF now! They send multiple pictures and videos all through out the day as they would include Laz in the daily walks, hikes, and fetch time, so I always know what he is up to (Helped Moms separation). Absolutely going to recommend Michelle and Samuel to friends and family, if they need a dog sitter. Don’t Think It Gets Better!! ??”

“Ebrahim was amazing! He was patient and accommodating to our schedule and Brutus's needs. There was always updates and very open communication. He even took Brutus out to let him have some outdoor experiences. He gave phenomenon service! I will definitely book again and I highly recommend him if you are looking for amazing care for your pet while you are away.”

About: I have always been in a home with pets. Currently have our dog (6yr) Cooper, 2 cats (Tobi and Lola), as well as a guinea pig. I work in office these days and only available evenings and weekends. During the summer my kiddos love to want money so have taken up some walking and daycare. My dog and I enjoy a good nature walk/hike during the day while the kids are at school and then sometimes a big adventure on the weekends. Our cats and guinea pig couldn't be more loved and cared for. They all thrive and enjoy each others company as well as my kiddos.
“Our dog Buttercup had a wonderful time with Jennifer and her family. She is knowledgeable about all things dog and made Buttercup feel right at home. She was also responsive and easy to communicate with! We will be leaving Buttercup with her again!”

“Channing did a great job watching my pup, she communicated well and was accommodating of my time if I needed extra. My girl was happy. Will be using her again for our sitting needs in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - University Place
We left our 4-month-old puppy with Kana and Brian for a long day (12 hours), and they were amazing. They handled her so well and did such a great job making her feel safe and cared for. It was our first time leaving her with someone and also our first time using Rover, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The communication is great, and they have a good yard for dogs, as well as a nice area inside for them. I'd definitely recommend Kana and will be using her again.

Elizabeth was an amazing angel when my family needed emergency boarding for my mom's dog when she went into the hospital. It was so late for booking I was scared we wouldn't find anyone. Then thiS AMAZING HUMAN came to meet the pup and brought her home with her for a weeks stay. Callie was treated like a member of their family there and got her favorite thing in the world, all the snuggles! I love that I didn't need to worry about her at all during her stay so we could focus on our family emergency. Will definitely re-book if we need someone to watch her again

Great first stay with Kevin and Vonnie. Our 11 year old yellow lab was well taken care of. Hosts were great communicators, attentive and clearly enjoyed time with Lily. Their home was perfect with a large secure backyard and comfortable inside. We have already booked a future stay.

Ethan was absolutely amazing!! We brought our 13-year old dog and 7 month old puppy, and both were very clearly happy and cared for! It was our first time boarding them, and we were really nervous about it but Ethan sent us plenty of picture and video notifications that set us at ease. Honestly if we could give him 100 stars we would!!

We have a 2 1/2 year old kitty named MIA and adopted her when she was 1 yr old. We are retired and like to take periodic trips mostly to the Oregon coast. Up until now we would take her with us in the car but she does not like car travel, even with medication, so it was not always the fun relaxing time we wanted.. We considered a number of options but didn't feel comfortable with any of them. Then we met HUA through Rover. She is wonderful, fantastic, patient and kind. We were going to be gone for 6 days and were concerned if MIA would be ok. But HUA was reassuring and her set-up for kitty care is amazing. MIA had her own room with toys, climbing structures, a big window with a panoramic view of the water, food and a kitty litter box. And the really extra fantastic part is that HUA would send us videos 2 or 3 time a day of MIA! That was sooo reassuring that she was ok. We joked if MIA would want to come home with us after spending a week in an all inclusive resort. From now on we will leave MIA with HUA whenever we go out of town. We will work our trips around HUA's availability. We would give her more than 5 stars if the website had the option.

Renate did an amazing job caring for my two kittens while I had to go out of town. She sent me a lot of updates and photos to help ease my mind about their stay. She has an amazing cat boarding space and gave both of my kitties lots and lots of love and attention. Could not have found a better sitter!

How great to find a wonderful pet sitter! Kuna had a fun overnight with Amanda. She went on 2 adventure walks and also met some new dog friends to hang out with. Photos were sent, updates give, and our instructions for Kuna’s care were followed to a tee. We look forward to another pet sitter opportunity soon.

I’ve never boarded my dog before, and it was incredibly stressful. However, I had a work obligation that required me to travel out of town. Larissa went above and beyond to alleviate my concerns. Gracie and I had a meet and greet, and Gracie seemed very comfortable meeting Larissa and her two pups. Gracie stayed with Larissa for two weeks with a break over the weekend. Larissa was fantastic in keeping me updated and sending pictures. Larissa was also very accommodating to any slight changes in my schedule. I highly recommend Larissa.

I was able to board my dog Tex at Leslie’s on short notice and it turned out to be a great fit. Her dog Bruce is very well trained and got along great with my dog, who’s more interested in human friends than other dogs. She was able to administer his medication with no issues and kept the pups happy and active. She’s reliable, communicative, and took great care of Tex. I will definitely board my dog with her again! :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
