“My Luna baby is not great with new people but Kristin made her feel so at home!! She is truly amazing and eased all our worries!! If I could give 10 starts I would”

“Mariko was absolutely wonderful! We needed to make last minute arrangements for our mini doxy while we went out of town because she got sick and needed special feeding and medicines around the clock. She took care of our little girl and sent us lots photos and videos everyday to keep us up to date. Her whole family truly loves dogs and was very attentive. Highly recommend!”

“Our dogs Blue and Yuki had so much fun at Jeannine's they were very well taken care of and I appreciated all of the updates and the pictures. Will definitely book again.”

“I have full confidence leaving my dog anytime with Khaytlen. My dog Xolo (GSD mix) continues to get the training, exercise, and exposure he needs when I board him with her. She is a safe space and her house is a vacation spot for our boy Xolo.”

“Great communication with pics so we could see how things were going! Really appreciate the care our pup received while he was having his weekend with Jennifer! We will use her services again!”

“Christen and her family are the best sitters! Shadow gets tons of attention and we love all the picture updates. It’s awesome to go on vacation and know that my fur baby is happy on a vacation of her own and hanging out with their dog Brew! Thanks again!”
“This was my first time leaving my pooch and Mollie made it a very wonderful experience. She kept me up to date on Harleys happiness. She truly went above and beyond my expectations. I believe Harley will be making visits again soon and often. Thank you Mollie Harley and I appreciate you!”

“Mariana and her family were so kind and accomodating for Sienna for my 3-day weekend. They took her for walks, fed her on her normal routine and always made sure she had her eye drops! I had to pick her up a bit later on a Sunday and they were just fine with that. I will be calling Mariana again when I'm out of town as I know Sienna will be so well taken care of!”

“My dog, Bernie was well cared for with Ren and his family. I received daily updates and had piece of mind that Bernie was in good hands. Looking forward to future visits!”

“I boarded my nervous little dog with Heather, and I couldn't be happier with the care my pet received. Heather connected with me each day with a report of my dog's state of being. I was able to enjoy my time away knowing my dog was in excellent hands. Thank you, Heather!”

“Lexie is my absolute go-to! I can’t imagine anyone being more attentive or loving to my little one. I get so many pictures and updates and I really feel like my little girl is living her best life when she’s there.”

“Kelly is amazing! She is so sweet and welcoming. She took such great care of my little guy. She made sure to give daily updates with pictures on how he was adjusting to her home. I would 100% recommend Kelly to anyone looking for dog sitting services.”

“This is our first time leaving our dog with a sitter. In the past we have always used family or friends of the family to watch our dog. It could not have gone better!! He was well taken care of and we even got pictures sent to us. I don’t think he wanted to leave when we came to pick him up. I would highly recommend Rebecca.”

“We could not have had a better experience leaving our little Mario with Kyley! She was so quick at replying to our texts asking for updates and sent us pictures every day. Mario seemed relaxed when we got back from our 6 day trip and slept like a baby when we got home! She was super flexible with our drop off and pick up times and was understanding when our plane got delayed and we picked him up a bit later than we thought. We were nervous first-time Rover users but are so glad we found someone we can trust in the our area, we will definitely be booking again in the future!”

“Great sitter for our playful goldendoodle. Jordin is very communicative and sends plenty of updates. She’s super friendly and is flexible with scheduling. We’re definitely going to rebook with her during our short stay here in Tacoma. 👍🏽”

“Bobbi is the actual best! She is deeply thoughtful and treats my dog like he is one of hers. My pup is still young and she will arrange to have other young dogs come to play. I can’t say enough good things about her and the peace I have knowing my dog is in great hands.”

“Thanks Sherry for taking such great care of my pet! She was incredibly responsible throughout the day care today. She always provides timely photo and videos and takes absolutely great care of Charli and she came home so happy that I highly recommended Sherry! Definitely will book Again!”

“Dee Anne is such a sweetheart and we're so grateful for how she takes care of Max! He is so excited to spend time with her with all the quality play time and rest and adventures they have. It's a little vacation for him to stay with Dee Anne when we can't take him out of town with us and it's so meaningful to us that she's so genuinely loving, thoughtful, and kind!”

“Angela was amazing! She and her husband welcomed my two dogs into her home. They felt comfortable from the start. And so did I knowing they were in good hands. I knew they would be safe and loved while we were away! We will definitely be back for another stay!”

I’m pretty hesitant when it comes to finding a new sitter for Nola. But the second I met Val I knew Nola would be in GREAT hands! Val is super welcoming for the parent as well as your kid. I would definitely book with Val again and would recommend her to everyone!

Kyley and her family took great care of Dot on her 2 night stay. I received regular updates with photos on how well she was doing which allowed me to enjoy my time away especially since this was my first time away from her since I adopted her. I will definitely book with them again. She had so much fun, she’s tuckered out!

Khaythlen is so much more than a dog boarder or sitter. She understands dogs and advocates from the dogs perspective so you can become a better dog owner. She communicative and responsive. She took exceptional care of our reactive cattle dog, and I felt completely at ease having my dog in her care.

Nicole was awesome with our dog. He has some behavioral issues, so he’s not an easy dog but Nicole was a pro and he even came back to us with a more chill demeanor. It was so fun she sent us txt and video updates the whole weekend too! we’re really grateful she could watch our doggo. 10/10

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
