“Loc did a wonderful job caring for my chihuahua for the week. She is 1 yr 5 months old with pretty severe anxiety issues (medicated) and it was her first time being away from us so I was very nervous. Loc has excellent communication skills and shared daily photos and videos. Our dog had a great time playing with Loc's adorable puppy and enjoyed daily walks. I highly recommend Loc for your pet sitting needs - we have already rebooked him for another trip in two weeks! Thank you Loc for giving our family a sense of freedom back (the ability to travel) while taking top-notch care of our dog. You're the best!”

About: I’ve been around dogs for most of my life, growing up with them and continuing to care for dogs for friends and others over the years. I’m also the proud owner of an 8-year-old Newfoundland/Collie mix, so I’m very comfortable with larger dogs and understand the importance of patience, consistency, exercise, and plenty of affection. However, I also grew up with dachshunds and love the little ones just the same. One of my strengths is reading a dog’s personality and responding to what they need. I’m naturally affectionate with friendly, social dogs, but I’m equally comfortable giving shy or timid dogs the space and time they need to feel safe. I never want to force an interaction—I’d rather let a dog build trust at their own pace. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give dogs plenty of attention and stick closely to their normal routines. Communication is also very important to me. I know how reassuring it is to receive updates when someone else is caring for your pet, so owners can expect me to be responsive and keep them informed. For dogs staying with me, I have a fenced backyard and live in a very walkable neighborhood, making it easy to provide outdoor time, exercise, and walks throughout the day. My pup, Drogo, is very kind and loves other dogs and he's especially gentle with the little ones. He can be a little grumpy with puppies, so that is a case-by-case basis (and I would encourage a meet and greet beforehand). Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. Whether your dog wants walks and playtime, lots of pets, or simply a calm person nearby, I’m happy to meet them where they are and make them feel comfortable. I have a very open and flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to make pet care a natural part of my day rather than something I have to squeeze in around other commitments. Your dogs will be my priority. My flexibility also allows me to be responsive to owners and accommodate changes when possible. I want both you and your dog to feel like they’re getting plenty of attention—not like they’re just another appointment on my calendar. Safety, trust, and making your dog feel comfortable are always my priorities. I know every dog has their own personality, routine, boundaries, and quirks, so I’ll take the time to learn what works best for yours rather than assuming every dog needs the same kind of care. For dogs staying in my home, I have a securely fenced backyard for supervised outdoor time and live in a very walkable neighborhood for regular walks and exercise. My dog, Drogo, is friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs, but I think introductions are important. I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand so everyone can get comfortable and we can make sure our dogs are a good fit—especially with puppies or dogs who may need a little more time to adjust. In a client’s home, I’m very respectful of both your space and your dog’s established routine. I’ll follow your instructions closely regarding meals, walks, medications or special care instructions, doors and gates, and anything else that helps keep your pet safe and comfortable. I also pay close attention to a dog’s body language. Some dogs want to be best friends immediately, while others need patience and space before they feel comfortable with someone new. I’m happy to let them set the pace. And of course, communication is a big priority for me. I’ll be responsive and keep you updated so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention while they’re in my care.
“Elizabeth was very communicative and friendly. She made sure to ask questions about my doggo with a chronic health condition and opened her home to my two large giant schnauzers.”

“Katrina and her family took the best care of my two corgis. She sent me so many pictures through out the day so I could stay updated on all of the fun they were having. The kids ran around with them in the backyard and tired them out every day. My girls even got to sleep with the kids which I know made them super happy. I would definitely recommend Katrina and her family to take care of your furry baby.”

“I understand why all the rave reviews!! She treated Rory like her own, sending me many photos, many messages. I needed to have surgery and wanted to focus on my healing. I've had Rory for a year, and it was the first time I've left him with someone. He is a rescue and has a few quirks. Diana is more than competent and kind with owners and dogs. She is a GREAT listener and put me at ease immediately. Rory was very, very well cared for. I can't recommend her highly enough!”

Chi took such good care of our dog Luna! Her communication leading up to and during her stay was amazing and it was overall a fantastic experience. We were so happy our dog could stay with a nice family and get so much love and attention while we were away. We’ll definitely be in touch again next time we need someone to watch her! Thank you Chi!!

My dog migi had such a great time in Connor’s care!! I love that he has such a big fenced yard cause they were out there all the time playing fetch or taking walks! I got tons of updates, videos and pictures during his stay and it was clear he was having a blast! Would definitely recommend Conner to care for your fur babies and I will definitely book again in the future!

I have booked Rodney twice now, and both experiences have been excellent. Communication is always prompt and clear, and I received many photos and videos throughout her stay. My dog was clearly comfortable, happy, and well cared for each time. It’s such a relief knowing that Rodney and family are so reliable and trustworthy. I’ll definitely continue booking. I highly recommend them!

Jessie and her family were very warm and kind to Onyx while we were away. Though our pup is still an energized young thing, Jessie and family played with her enough to help her feel exercised and distracted awaiting us to return. I am eager to have Jessie hang with Onyx again when we have another holiday. Trusting that your pup sitter is going to treat your dog like you would is everything to us! 💙

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
