About: Hi! My name is Monae, and caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy. I have hands-on experience working with dogs through my volunteer work at the Humane Society and Resilient Sanctuary, where I help with walking dogs, providing enrichment and socialization, cleaning kennels, preparing food and water, and assisting with daily care. I am comfortable around dogs of different sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. I understand that every dog is unique, and I take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I am currently pursuing a degree in psychology, and I have a strong interest in animal behavior and dog training. This has helped me develop patience, observation skills, and an understanding of how to build trust with both pets and their owners. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or companionship while you’re away, I will treat them with the same care, attention, and respect that I would want for my own pet. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when someone else is caring for your furry family member, and I am committed to providing reliable care and clear communication every step of the way. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! 🐾 Why book with me? * Volunteer experience with dogs at the Humane Society and Resilient Sanctuary * Experience with daily animal care, enrichment, and socialization * Reliable and responsive communication * Comfortable with dogs of various breeds and sizes * Passionate about animal behavior and dog training * Dedicated to making pets feel safe, happy, and loved I work full-time with TSA, so I currently offer pet care on Fridays and Saturdays. Whether it's walks, drop-in visits, playtime, or companionship, I will make sure your dog receives plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you're away. I live in an apartment, but I make sure dogs receive plenty of walks, exercise, potty breaks, and attention. I always follow the owner's instructions and take the time to learn each dog's routine and needs. “Two days before the boarding date with Mariko san, Our dog Loi was injured by our neighbor dog and urgently, unexpectedly, he had needed some medication while he stayed with Mariko san. In spite of our concerns of Loi’s condition, she and her family took good care of our dog with sending us daily reports and photos. He is all better now, it’s all for her loving, tender care. We sincerely appreciate you and your family! We would definitely want to come back ❣️ Kaori”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Edgewood
She was absolutely wonderful with our little picky boy! 🐶❤️ She made him feel comfortable, safe, and turned the whole experience into so much fun—especially getting to play with her dogs. She even took him out for a walk, which I wasn’t expecting but genuinely appreciated. Seeing his little tail wagging as he happily went to her was the best reassurance that he felt comfortable and loved. 🥹 She kept us updated throughout the day with lots of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. We’re so grateful for how caring and attentive she was with him. We would absolutely trust her with our little guy again!
Our girls had a great time playing ball, sunbathing, walking and relaxing! 10/10 experience for them, they came home happy and tired so I know they had a great time! Jeanie showed so much care for them, and was super communicative when our Peach wasn’t feeling well. Highly recommend for any pet sitting needs!

Anastasia was great. She took care of our dog in her house and took care of our cat in our home. I would 100% recommend her and will definitely be using her services again. This was her 2/3rd time taking care of our pets. She sent pictures and videos daily. We were gone over a week. Happy we found her. Thanks for everything.

Angela took excellent care of all four my four dogs during challenging times. Great communication with photos of the pups. Quick to respond. Angela genuinely cares, which is evident in her level of care. Unfortunately all four my dogs had various health challenges during their stay, which in spite of high demands, Angela handled professionally and promptly. One of my pups is diabetic and unfortunately had a pancreatic flare up, which is life threatening if not treated promptly. Angela took him to the emergency room and thanks to that, he recovered in no time. Angela is responsible.Highly recommended for all your dogs needs.Angela shone in the most challenging of circumstances! Look no further.

Zach took amazing care of my pup! He was great at sending updates so I never had to worry about how my dog was doing. There was great communication in scheduling pickup and dropoff, and he was flexible. His two dogs seemed very welcoming to other dogs as well. I will definitely have my dog stay with Zach again!

Carmen is an absolute dream and was incredibly helpful and the perfect fit to care for my iggy! Communication was smooth, fast and seamless. The photos and videos she sent were awesome, showing my ‘lil guy having a blast and “living his best life” ! She even had adorable little outfits that he wore during his stay! I can’t rate her professionalism, caring and thoughtful communication high enough! Especially as my iggy was not accustomed to being away from me, I was blown away how contented he was from the very start.

We are so grateful for Thao and her husband for taking such good care of our dog! She sent frequent updates and was very quick to respond! I can tell my dog felt right at home and was taken care of well. I would recommend Thao to anyone and will absolutely hire her again to take care of my baby!

Nancy and her family did an amazing job caring for our two Samoyeds while we were travelling internationally. Our puppies (9 years old) were welcomed into their home, and her family provided a warm, loving, secure space that the dogs could relax in and enjoy. One of the dogs required meds to be administered three times a day, and Nancy committed to this without hesitation. This was the second time we've used Nancy and will definitely be using her again. We highly recommend her and her amazing family!

Jessie and her family were very warm and kind to Onyx while we were away. Though our pup is still an energized young thing, Jessie and family played with her enough to help her feel exercised and distracted awaiting us to return. I am eager to have Jessie hang with Onyx again when we have another holiday. Trusting that your pup sitter is going to treat your dog like you would is everything to us! 💙

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
