“Amber was fantastic! From the time she first met our two dogs until the time she coordinated with our daughter to pick them up after a week of sitting, Amber was a professional with a great attitude who treated every canine she watched with kindness. I will definitely turn to Amber the next time we need a dog sitter, and I recommend her your dog sitting needs. Thanks, Amber!”

“Dennis and Lynn watched our 8-month old golden retriever for just over two weeks and absolutely loved every part of their accommodations!! They even sent us daily updates and videos, took her for daily walks, played in the yard with her, and were very accommodating to us first-time “parents”; much more personal than a typical boarding situation. We will definitely be reaching out to Dennis and Lynn again if we need an overnight sitter. Thanks again!”

“I can’t say enough great things about Matthew! He took care of my dog Smokey for the entire day while I was out working, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I dropped Smokey off, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in great hands. Matthew is incredibly responsible, attentive, and caring he went above and beyond to make sure Smokey was happy, comfortable, and well exercised. He provided regular updates, which was such a nice touch, and it was clear that Smokey had an amazing time. When I picked him up, he was relaxed, well fed, and clearly had a great day. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, professional, and genuinely kind pet sitter, Matthew is the one to call. I’ll definitely be booking him again in the future! Thank you again, Matthew!”

“Amy and her family were very welcoming with our corgi. She has a great safe and secure yard for dogs to run around in and I know our pup was in heaven. Amy sent many photos of my dog with updates. When my dog did act up, Amy had prompt communication with me as we figured out next steps. She did a great job with him in a hard situation. I'd recommend anyone to Amy - she loves dogs and has a great set up to host furry friends! Thank you!”

“My experience with Joshua and my pet Lucy was beyond my expectation. My pet, Lucy, was settled and comfortable. Joshua sent me pictures of Lucy being walked and just lounging around. Joshua's interaction with Lucy was so comforting. Lucy was involved with his family and felt right at home. This is the first time that Lucy was calm when she returned home. She was not anxious or frightened. She relaxed and resumed her activities at home as if she didn't go anywhere. It was such a great and calming experience for me and my pup, Lucy. I would 100% recommend Joshua for taking care of your pet. I will differently have Joshua on board the next time I need a great place to have my dog stay. Diane S.”

“Ilse and her family were amazing caregivers for our dog. We highly recommend. Communication and care could not be better. River was happy and well cared for. Regular walks, cuddles, and attention. Pictures, videos and updates daily made us very comfortable with his stay. Thank You for caring for him as your own.”

“Gabriela and Sean were amazing from the very beginning. They requested a meet and greet with their other dogs and we really appreciated it. They sent us photos throughout Jax’s entire stay and he looked happy/comfortable in each and every photo. They were super amazing about reaching out to us periodically with updates/photos. When we had some travel issues/canceled flights, they were super flexible and accommodating. They were super understanding and we felt like Jax was safe and welcome for an additional night. Thank you so much, we would absolutely recommend them to anyone! Pretty convenient proximity to SeaTac as well.”

“Kristina responded quickly to my last minute request. She was open to chatting with me to learn about him and how she could make him comfortable. Even though my dog has some behavior problems, Kristina was still open to working with him. She kept us up to date with pictures and comments on how he was doing. She treated my dog very well. I wouldn't hesitate to have Kristina watch my dog again in the future.”

“Phillip was so responsive especially because our original daycare plans fell through and he was able to accommodate us so quickly. I got plenty of pictures of our dog Ellie and we can tell after we picked her up that she was well cared for!”

“it's a lovely family to leave my dog with. Cookie was well taken care of and had fun, also getting along with the cats well, extra credit to their son Brandon! highly recommended!”

“Judith and her hubby were awesome! Chewie is not too comfortable around dogs but they took good care of her. Judith sent updates frequently and you can tell she genuinely cared for the doggy guests :). Thank you!”

“Wilbur’s week-long stay with Charlotte was all around easy! We got video and photo updates that kept us reassured that he was a happy guy during his stay. Charlotte was also very considerate when our travel plans changed. We’d be happy to book with her again next time we travel.”

“Lani and her family are so very kind and accommodating. We are so pleased to have them as our dogs sitters. We never have to worry about our fur babies when she is caring for them. She gives them so much attention and affection. Our dogs are happy to stay with her and not stressed at all when we pick them up. We are so lucky to have found Lani.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Auburn
Brandon & Heather did a wonderful job caring for Molly & Sully. They sent pictures and let me know how the dogs were doing. They were wonderful at letting the dogs do pretty much what they do at home--sitting on the living room furniture. I would definitely use them again.

Shay took such good care of the pups! Hubert actually came home tired so I think he finally got enough stimulation! She also provided lots of pictures and feedback on how they were doing for the whole stay, and gave my older girl the extra support when needed! Thank you so much again!

Jeanie and Michael were an amazing choice for our large Bernese Mountain dog! From day one, we could tell they genuinely love dogs. They took him on daily walks and sent us pictures and videos every day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. They gave him the attention and all the cuddles he needed! They were also incredibly flexible and great communicators throughout the whole process, always quick to respond and easy to coordinate with. When we picked him up, he was happy, clean, and completely himself — it was clear he felt right at home with them. We never once had to worry about whether he was being well taken care of. We’ll absolutely be booking with Jeanie and Michael again. Highly recommend!

Olivia is great with animals. She was super attentive with my dog who seeks a lot of pets. She made sure he was stimulated every day by giving him puzzles to do as well as ample of walks. She even taught him a new trick, “point” which is still under the works. She also kept us updated and even offered to take him to the vet when he accidentally got into their compost. He ended up being a little sick after coming back, but it was all within the expected. I would totally trust her with my dog and I hope to rebook with her in the near future.

..Sydney exceeded expectations with first time booking. I requested her walk and play with dogg in the morning and evening over the course of 3 days. She sent pictures of dogg living her best life. And tracks of mileage she walked about at both the lake park and the bike path. Also had to leave home unsecured for her access. Place was just as I left it with heat and lights on and music playing for dog as I asked. Dog is relaxed and seems like she had a little weekend of adventures with Sydney. We look forward to booking with Sydney again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
