“Molly was great! We got plenty of updates and pictures throughout the day. One of our boys is slow to warm up and can be grumbly/barky with new people and she was very patient with him and both dogs seemed to have a great time!”

“We are so thankful for Shannon's warmth & welcoming of our shy dog Rat into her home. She shared great updates (walks, cuddles, and more) & photos, which put me at ease, so that we could enjoy our time away. Getting Rat to and from Shannon was smooth as well. So much gratitude! ??”

“Our dog always has the best time with Lance! Toffee comes home so happy everytime! He looks like he’s pupped out after playing with all the dogs and enjoying his stay! Highly recommend Lance!”

“Wow. Just. Wow. Cyndi was so communicative and Caspian was so well cared for. I was nervous at first because we'd never left him with anyone before but my fears were nullified by the end of the first day. So amazing.”

“Another fantastic stay with Maria and Kalyan! We were hosting a large gathering with friends and wanted to avoid the food temptations for our pup, Murphy. He got extra TLC with Maria and Kalyan while we were able to host a stress free evening. It was a win for everyone! Many thanks to Maria and Kalyan for their 5 star care. 🙏🏻”

“Maria is a superb sitter! She took excellent care of my little Tanner. She adheres to a daily routine including feeding and walking, is super responsive with communication, and has a safe home. I felt very much at ease that Tanner was in good hands, was safe, had fun, and was well cared for. You can tell she loves what she does!”

“This is our 3rd time using Kristin and we have her booked again for May. She's amazing with Weatherly! Attentive, caring, kind, and my dog truly is part of the family. So much so that when we come to get Weatherly, she's always sad when we get home. Kristin is fantastic, you're pet will be loved & well cared for with her.”

“Jen is so great. Communication before and during drop-off was seamless. We felt confident leaving our high-maintenance American Bully with her. We loved all the great photos, which assured us Hulk was having a great time!”

“Rikke did a fantastic job taking care of our dog, Bogo. We could tell from the daily updates and pictures she sent us that he was well-loved and cared for, and allowed to lounge in comfy, cozy spots like the couch, which he loves to do. Best of all, Rikke and her family took Bogo on multiple walks in the nearby state park, and gave him ample opportunities to chase squirrels alongside their own pup-- another of his favorite past times. Thanks, Rikke, for giving our dog a happy vacation of his own while we were away; we hope to book with you again!”
“Francena’s Doggy Disneyworld is a literal oasis for your small breed dog 🐾💕 They have the perfect set up outside and inside for pups to live their best life!! I think my little Poppy might miss it more than I’d like!”

“We are very grateful to Vashti because she helped us at the last minute with our dog. her service was fantastic! My dog, Tommy, arrived very shy at Vashti's house, but he left very happy because of the kindness she gave him. I will definitely return to Vashti! 100% recommended.”

“Conrad loves staying with Marisol and Twinkie! We are a repeat boarder. Conrad has separation anxiety from my (consequence of working from home) but he goes right in to Marisol’s lovely home and is welcomed by Twinkie. Conrad spends his days napping, going for walks, napping, playing, and napping! Senior dog life!😉”

“Rya did such a wonderful job watching our two pups while we were away on a longer trip! Even when one of them had stomach issues, Rya took extra care to feed softer foods and make sure they were on the mend. Rya was very communicative the whole time, asked questions, and sent lots of pictures. She really cared about our pups and they loved her! Thank you so much, Rya!”

“Taylor was amazing from start to finish! She provided timely updates and photos of my dog and he looked like he was enjoying every moment in her home while I was away. I would definitely recommend her as a sitter you will not be disappointed.”

“Kirsten was wonderful! She was calm, experienced, and reassuring from introduction to pickup—everything an anxious dog mom needs. I could tell my girl had a great time meeting new friends and was well cared for! She’s a social pup, so it was comforting to know she had a whole pack (dog and human) to be with. Thank you!”

About: I have been an animal lover my whole life! Growing up, I had dogs both big and small, as well as cats. Now I have a dog (June) and a cat (George) of my own. They are the loves of my life! I have experience with puppies and seniors, as well as administering medication to dogs and cats. I’ll treat your pet as if it were my own! I am currently in school, and it is self-paced, so my schedule is quite flexible! I can provide pet care basically any time, and adjust my school schedule accordingly. If I am caring for a pet in a client’s home, I will be sure they feel comfortable and safe with me. If I’m caring for a pet in my own home, it is important that they are comfortable with cats and other dogs. I have a fenced yard with plenty of space to play!
“They did a great job taking care of our two dogs. They took pictures, walked them and communicated daily. Highly recommend and would use their house sitting service again, great family!”

“Qi was a great & responsive host! Pepper got to play with other dogs & passed out when he got home. She was very patient with Pepper through his puppy shenanigans, as well. I appreciate Qi’s last minute availability which allowed me to get away for a quick weekend for July 4th. Will book again.”

“Colleen was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was warm, kind, and sent lots of updates. I felt safe leaving my fur daughter with her and would definitely go back. Thanks, Colleen! ❤️”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Des Moines
Jenae is a fantastic, trusted sitter. She watched our nervous, shy dog during the 4th of July weekend, and it went very well. We got regular updates, and we were comfortable and assured leaving our pup with Jenae. This was our second time booking Jenae, and we'll choose her again the next time we're out of town.

First time I have left my babies with anyone from Rover and I am SO happy I went with Lindsey and Jason. They have a perfect set up for dogs, they made sure they knew the dogs eating/potty schedules and they sent many photo updates and were quick to respond anytime I had a question. Highly recommend - will be using them in the future!!

Tyler and Amanda took such good care of our dog, and was so thoughtful to send frequent updates and ask thorough questions. We were frequently reassured that our pup was in good hands while we were away. Extremely thoughtful and responsive, I would highly recommend and use again in the future.

We couldn't be happier with our experience! Rikke and the family took such amazing care of Hayden at their home. They are always incredibly welcoming, making sure Hay felt right at home immediately. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind while traveling. Our little man came home happy and tired out from all the playtime. Highly recommend!

Daniel, Joelle and their family took care of my sweet boy. They were so fabulous to him. His daily trips to parks or the beach kept him entertained. The pictures I got made me feel so happy to see him so engaged. I've already arranged for them to watch him again later this summer. I felt very comfortable having Mickey in their home. A+!!
Zee took amazing care of our dog! He’s a bit of a grumpy old man when it comes to sharing spaces with other dogs he doesn’t know, so it worked perfectly for him to be the only dog with Zee and get all the attention from her and her family. We would definitely book again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
