“Maria is fantastic! Marky is hesitant when it comes to interacting with people and dogs when I am not with him but Maria showed him there was nothing to fear! They take beautiful walks together, naps with his friends, and gets to play all day in a pack. He comes home tired and happy when the day is done. Maria really loves all of the dogs like her own”

“Jacklyn was great! Sent lots of (very cute!) pictures, walked McCoy, and made sure he got along with her own dog. McCoy was always happy to see her (and her dog) when we dropped him off. Jacklyn was also very responsive to us (e.g. when we had to modify our arrival/pick up time) which made our lives very easy.”

“State of the art facilities. These couple’s business is truly the best in the sound. We live in Issaquah, work in Kent and drive to Auburn for our dog’s daycare at happy tails because it is simply the best. The owners accommodate to our working hours and we cannot stop recommending their daycare to everyone we know. The new location is very convenient as well, right off I-5. Best daycare in the Sound and I’m not exaggerating!”

“Samantha was very kind and flexible. She watched Boo while we moved and Boo seemed to enjoy her time hanging out. We will definitely request sitting services with Samantha in the future!”

“My pupper had a great day and enjoyed fun with her new friends. Communications with Kirsten were smooth and clear and made me feel comfortable as this was my first time using Rover.”

“Such a wonderful feeling when you finally found a great sitter for your pup! Zoie has never been this happy being away from me! It only goes to show that Daisha and Tam did a fabulous job of caring for and treating my pup like their own. I would definitely use their services again and highly recommended.”

“Joyce and her husband were wonderful with our Coco. They know dogs and worked so well with ours. He has a bit of separation anxiety, but Joyce and her dogs took care of that immediately. Loved the large fenced back yard and the fact that her 2 dogs were small so ours wasn’t intimated. Looking forward to working with her again.”

“Zee taking care of our baby definitely took the stress off for us to enjoy our wedding day. Will book with her again when we’re out of town. she kept us updated through out the day and very responsive. Thanks Zee!!!!”

“This was my 1st time with Daniel & Joelle, who were very accommodating. My pup did a day long to get used to them & see if she'd be a good fit for a week upcoming boarding. Everything went well. Meelo is a very sweet old guy, which is great for my pup who's been bullied & is shy at first. Though it was her 1st day & so somewhat anxiety provoking to be left, she still seemed relaxed when I picked her up & asked everyone for scratches & pets during the day. It also seemed she took a liking to their daughter Esther:) She'll try a week there a few weeks from now.”

“Dennis and Lynn were fantastic with Maddie! When we picked her up she was calm and happy. The photos and video updates brought a lot of relief as it was our first time leaving her with a sitter. I definitely recommend Dennis and Lynn to watch your cute puppy family member! Thank you so much for the attentiveness you two!”

About: Most people call me Josh. Dogs have always been my favorite animal and I've lived with them for most of my life. I am recently dog-free and I miss having dog energy in my house. I've raised two dogs through basic obedience to adulthood, one with a class, and one largely on my own. I am personally a big believer in the methods described in The Art of Raising a Puppy, because I have had excellent results with their techniques, but will of course prioritize whatever approach is preferred by owners. I am happy to help reinforce any basic obedience your dog may be working on, as well as senior dogs. I am comfortable with a wide range of dog breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Highly reactive dogs are not my favorite, but "highly reactive" can be subjective, so I will consider such dogs on a case by case basis. I am happy to work with dogs of varying activity levels, but extremely high-activity dogs will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. I am currently working from home and am available for dropoff in-home daycare most weekdays and dog boarding (including weekends). My schedule for my dog was three walks a day (morning, afternoon/dinnertime, bedtime) so that is what I'm used to, but I am happy to work with clients to discuss their routine and work with them to agree on an experience that fits their and their dog's needs. I currently have no other animals in my home, so your dog will get my full attention as needed. I don't have a fenced yard, but I am in a residential neighborhood with a good-sized park a block away. I am reasonably close to Seward Park and the Genesee dog park as well.

“Jaime has a very kind personality and is very easy to work with. She is good with communication and sent me photo updates of my dog! Backpack looked like he was having a blast playing in the backyard! She was also flexible when I had a change in plans during the day and had to change my pickup time. Overall, it was a good experience, but most importantly, when I went to pick up Backpack, he was just as happy and healthy as when I left him. That's what really matters to me. Thanks for watching my pup!”

“Thank you so much Lilia and fam for watching Gunner. It can be hard leaving him, but knowing he was safe, loved, and kept busy made all the difference. I could tell he had an amazing day because he came home happy and content. We appreciate you!”

“Polly looks forward to every visit with Marisol and Milo, and literally runs from the car to their front door! I feel so grateful she has such a special bond with them and has SO MUCH FUN every time! Thank you Marisol and Milo for making her feel so special and loved! I highly recommend Marisol for overnight stays and day care play dates!”

“Thanks for the great pics. Penny looks so content. When I dropped her off this morning, Penny went right up to Richard and didn’t try to pull away to come with me as she has done in the past. She must really like Marina and Richard and I am so happy to have found someone I can trust when I need a sitter in the future. Thanks again!”

Kristina is an amazing furbaby sitter, and we are so grateful for the care and attention she gives to Enzo every time he stays with her. Enzo is a regular with Kristina, which says a lot about the trust and comfort we feel leaving him in her care. She is dependable, kind, and truly treats him like family. We always appreciate the updates, love, and patience she gives him, and it gives us peace of mind knowing he is safe, happy, and well cared for. Enzo always comes home relaxed and happy, and we highly recommend Kristina to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter! 🐾

My pup Lucy had a great stay at Shannon & Bert's today! She made herself right at home and really seemed to enjoy herself. Lucy was well taken care of and it was clear that keeping her safe and comfortable was top priority. Shannon & Bert were wonderful and accommodated me on short notice. Lucy would definitely like to come back one day, thanks so much!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Des Moines commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
