“Misao took amazing care of our cat while we were out of town. She was very conscientious, gave us regular updates, brought in our mail and packages, and left the house cleaner than when we left. Not only was she incredibly sweet, she was timely, followed our detailed instructions perfectly and was overall a great pet sitter! Highly recommend and would hire again :)”

“Briana hands down will always be my first call when I need care for my kitties. She is so kind, responsive and provides updates to give me ample piece of mind when I’m gone.”

“Jaedi has been so great with my puppies, Cora and Ruger, and such a great support for me! She has been with us doing weekday drop-ins for the last few weeks and I'm so grateful to have found her. She listens to my many detailed instructions with care, the pups love her and training has been much easier with Jaedi in our life, and I feel secure knowing my puppies are always safe in her hands. She truly cares for animals as family, because they are, and it shows from the minute you meet her. My little Cora is extra anxious and Jaedi has been patient and helped us work on this. Jaedi's commination has been perfect and she is 100% dependable. If I could, I would have her help with my puppies indefinitely. Thanks, Jaedi!”

“Juli is great at her job. She helped us care for our diabetic kitty that requires insulin shots. She did wonderfully helping Cupcake have more comfort when we were gone. I trust Juli very much and am grateful she works with our family.”

“Megan rocks ! She was super cool when she came over to check out the house and the animals. She sent me photos and updates, I will absolutely use her again!!! ✨”

“Sierra was an excellent cat sitter for us! All her visits to feed and care for our cat were on time with lots of cat pictures and comments provided after each visit. She also spent extra time getting to know our cat and had her purring and comfortable in no time. We would highly recommend Sierra for any cat sitting needs.”

About: I’ve spent many years caring for pets- whether it be for my own or others. I am reliable for drop ins, walks, play time, special care or medication administration, or just showing love to your furry friend. I’ve cared for multiple pets at a time, puppies, senior dogs, etc. I am currently a grad student so my schedule is pretty flexible. I just moved to Tacoma (I don’t have my car yet) so my availability radius will be larger sooner! Right now I am walking to my appointments. I am available mornings and afternoons on weekdays for walks or drop ins! I can easily crate your dog, feed them, let them out, take them for a walk, administer medication or special care, and leave you with peace of mind that your baby is well taken care of and loved. Walks can be short or long- whichever you need!
“Kim is reliable, trustworthy, and great with the dogs! Great communication! I’ve had her come for house stays as well as visits and will not hesitate to continue to work with her.”

“Alyssa is amazing....She dropped in to visit with my puppy and cat only 2 times, and somehow, she was able to get them to interact calmly - or at least be civil! - with one another. She, also, reinforces good behavior and gently corrects actions which I hope can be corrected - all of which I'm grateful for, as reinforcement is so important for my puppy. I am so glad to be able to work with Alyssa!”

“Lydia watched both my cat and dog over a holiday weekend. Great communication, sent me pictures every day. Very thankful to have someone look after them while I was away. Highly recommend!”

“Erica did a wonderful job caring for our cats! Loved the rover cards with the pictures. Great relief of mind to have someone checking in on them during our vacation.”

“Highly recommend Carrie if you need a cat sitter! Carrie did check-ins for my senior cat while we were away for 7 days during Thanksgiving week. I was a bit nervous, as I've never had to leave my cat alone for that long before. The meet-and-greet with Carrie alleviated all my worries! She was wonderful with our cat, and gave him so much love, attention, and play time while we were away. Her update reports were always detailed and lovely to read, and she sent tons of great photos with each report. Everything was clean when we returned home (cat box empty/clean, litter swept off the floor). Carrie was always on time for meet-ups, check-ins, key exchanges etc, and is the perfect person to have check-in on your pet! :) I'll definitely be reaching out to her again next time we need someone to check on our cat!”

“Very diligently took notes during the initial home walkthrough, very communicative during each of her visits with the kitties. Overall, a stellar pet-sitting experience and will absolutely be booking her in the future.”

“My pets are my family and I'm super particular when it comes to them. I have a 9 month Mali puppy and so it's really important who comes around her at this age. As such, leaving them is hard for me because that's always on my mind. Long story short - If Kevin had more availability, I would be doing a lot more traveling lol. Punctual, knowledgable, kind, clean, thorough and goes above and beyond. We are so lucky we found him!”

“Bobbi takes awesome care of our “kiddos” every week! They are very happy to see her when she arrives. There is never a mess in the house because she cleans any messes up when she comes to care for them.”

“I’m able to relax on my trips knowing the babies are in good hands with Kandi. Appreciate the updates each day to know how they’re doing; the pics & videos help when I’m missing them! Definitely will book again.”

“Dee Anne did a wonderful job watching our kitties, she sent photos everyday, played with them, and made sure they were well taken care of. We will definitely use her whenever we go out of town again, and we would highly recommend her to anyone who needs pet care while they are away.”

Alexis took amazing care of our dog and elderly cat while we were celebrating our wedding. We came back to a clean house and two fluffers who seemed like they barely noticed we were gone. She was even sweet enough to leave us a congratulations card :’) 10/10 recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in University Place. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
