“Nathan was responsive, friendly and flexible when it came to taking care of Lucy. Followed directions very well and provided updates on the walk. Highly recommended and I will gladly use his services again.”
“Misao was absolutely lovely to my two boys Carl and Charlie! From the moment they met Misao and how excited they were to be around her, I just knew they were going to be in good hands. She was always on time and follow my directions perfectly about walking and feeding my 2 boys. Misao is genuinely sweet, respectful and kind, attributes that I value very much in someone taking care of my two boys. Thank you Misao for taking good and proper care of Carl and Charlie when I was away from home. You will be the one I will remember to book to take care once again of Carl and Charlie in the near future! 💕🐶🐶💕”

“Alicia was very flexible and understanding! She had great communication, fast reply times, and sent a lot of cute pictures! Even though we just hired her to walk Bella she showed our cat love as well. We would definitely trust her with the care of both our girls again in the future!”

About: Dogs love me and I love them. I have had pets all my life and currently have a sweet female Pomeranian and a male chihuahua who get lots of love and care. Both of my dogs are 5 years old and get along well with other dogs once acquainted. My small pack loves to have another small dog or 2 come stay with us for a day or longer. Long stays very welcome. My kids (11 and 14) also like to love on our doggie guests! Most importantly I will respect your wishes and boundaries while taking care of your precious babies and keep in touch while you are away. I am semi-retired and I have a very flexible work from home part time job so plenty of time for dog care. I take the dogs out for 2 walks per day weather permitting and have lots of toys for them to play with. My dogs like temporary additions to our pack and one or two more is no problem to add to our routine. Very dog friendly backyard! Safe secure duplex property. One of my dogs is crate trained when I need to go out, but the smaller one roams free. Whatever is best for your dog is fine with me. I will take great care of your babies and am open to pretty much any requests for small/medium dog care.
“Arianna is a trustworthy and excellent person. My pooch loves her and she is flexible, responsible, and responds well. She is now dooing weekly with me! Thanks!”

“If I could rate Sean higher I would!!!! His communication is amazing!!! And most importantly, he's been exceptional with my dog. I feel so fortunate to have found him! I cannot say enough good about Sean. Anyone would be lucky to have him care for their pet!!!!”

About: For most of my life, I have had many animals, including cats and dogs whom I've loved taking care of. I enjoy walking, feeding, and playing with them. I want to be a dog's best friend, make them feel comfortable and safe with a person who they just met. Providing these animals with joy by being there and allowing them to explore the outdoors and running around chasing their toys brings happiness to me and the dog(s). Making the animals feel safe allows them to be themselves and to have fun, even when their parents are gone, creating a fun environment is a must for these animals. I find meeting new dogs is very enjoyable experience being able to spend time with them, knowing they will have fun while being safe. I'm currently working part-time as a teacher in tacoma. Therefore my summer is free and the fall is open as well to take care of all your pets needs! I have experience meeting all kinds of dogs and cats, from scared and shy to friendly and jumping. I will work with the owner to create a safe, fun, and trustworthy environment.
“Megan was fantastic with my senior pup, Macklin! She was prompt, attentive, and took very good care of him on their walk. I will definitely be rebooking with her again!”

“Kelly was very quick to respond. She arrived on time to walk Dory and was so kind to send a pic of their walk. She was super easy to communicate with. I definitely recommend Kelly to anyone looking for a reliable dog walker. Thank you so much, Kelly!”

“We love Jenna! I am new to the area and my regular dog walker went away for a month but luckily I found Jenna on Rover. She obviously really cares about animals and really takes good care of my 2 fur babies, not just walks but also great feedback on their behavior and mood and poo quality and such, which is really helpful for a busy single Pet Parent. And they clearly love her! Jenna is now part of our "pack" we book her regularly.”
“Natalie has been an amazing sitter. We have a special needs/ very shy dog. Natalie works slow with him, and goes above and beyond making sure his needs are met - my confidence is very high when he’s in her care (and he loves her). She is great about communicating, as well as extremely flexible and easy to work with.”

“Alex was so helpful - able to accommodate a couple of walks for our high energy puppy Teddy at the last minute. She took care of him on the walks and she kindly stayed a bit longer to let him get some extra energy out in the backyard after their walk. Would definitely book her again!”

“Lydia has been a wonderful addition to my dog walking team. She’s responsive to messages, flexible with individual needs, and dependable with care. She sends quality pictures and updates so I know how the walks went and how my pups are doing during her care. If she has questions or concerns during her time with the dogs she addresses them promptly and respectfully. I can trust no issue or concern will go unnoticed or unreported. I appreciate having Lydia as a trusted member of my team and can count on my dogs being well cared for and loved on while I am away.”

“Britt has been doing a great job Walking my 75 lb lab! My girl is so excited every time Brit comes to the door. She gives me a great report card and lots of pictures. Highly recommend!!”

About: I grew up in a family of dog lovers and have been around dogs my entire life. I even adopted my own pup in college which was the best decision I've ever made. I also have experience working with rescue organizations & am comfortable around all breeds / personalities. I recently graduated from grad school and have a few weeks before starting to work full time. I would love to use this time to help out where needed! I'll treat your pet and home as if they were my own and am happy to do whatever is needed for them - walks, cuddles, belly rubs, food, meds, etc!
About: I love dogs and I've been around them all my life! I’ve done lots of dog-sitting and dog-walking for family and friends as an adult, and I have my own 3-year-old, high-energy pup. I know how important it is to make sure your pup is well taken care of by someone you both trust and who can help them to have consistency in their routine as much as possible so that it's a fun (not stressful!) experience when you're away. I'd love to help your pup have the activity, play time, and connection they need during the day through drop-in visits and walks. I've done a lot of training with my own pup on his anxiety and reactivity, so I'm very comfortable with supporting puppies and dogs that have their own unique needs. I work from home with a flexible schedule, so I can easily fit walks and drop-in visits into my schedule to make sure you and your dog has what they need for the day. If you need something that isn't listed as available on my calendar, please still reach out so I can try to make it work! I’m happy to follow any special instructions you might have for your dog and their routine so that I’m providing them with consistency, safety, and a fun experience during our time together!
About: I’ve been caring for pets for about 10 years, providing consistent, attentive care for dogs of different sizes and personalities. My experience includes daily walks, playtime, feeding routines, administering oral medications, light grooming such as brushing, and, most importantly, giving plenty of love and attention. I understand how important it is to maintain a pet’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I’m patient, observant, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs, whether that’s extra exercise, gentle care, or simply companionship. I am currently working 5 days a week, and will be available on my days off. I miss dog sitting/dog walking as a hobby and would love to start doing it again. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs at my house, so I prefer to take care of the pets at the owners home. I would care for them by playing, taking them outside as needed, staying on a feeding schedule and possibly bathing if the owners request !

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - University Place
Rachel is wonderful! We highly recommend her. For the past few years, she has walked our dog, Daisy, for us during the work week. She is reliable, communicative, trustworthy, and Daisy loves her! I also love getting the photos at work of all of Daisy’s belly rubs and adventures. Thank you, Rachel!

We had Eamon walk our lab puppy, Sully, while we were out of town and he did such a great job with him! He truly went above and beyond our expectations and was able to help out last minute when our other care fell through. Our puppy is not the easiest to walk (we are working on it!) but Eamon handled him very well and worked on manners with him. He was very communicative and sent pictures of Sully during the walk. Very trust worthy and reliable and I would highly recommend his care!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
