About: I moved from Mi to Wa in 2015 and decided in 2018 to be a dog walker. That was in King county and after moving to a house in 2021, dog boarding turned into my new side job. Last year I also enrolled in Victoria Stilwell’s Academy for positive training. So I am very aware of dog’s body language and needs. I absolutely love dogs and they are truly my life now but when I was 8 that wasn’t the case. I was bit in the face by a family friend’s dog. He was old and on medication, I startled him awake which led to him biting me. From this incident, I watched Victoria Stilwell on animal planet to get over my fear of bigger dogs and here I am today with a certification in dog training and starting my career with human’s best friend. My goal is for you and your dog to be as comfortable as possible. I only treat dogs/pets as I would want someone to treat mine (and believe me I am a high maintenance pet mom 😉) Dogs are my job. Whether it is boarding, sitting, or walking; this is what I do full time. Sometimes I do Instacart to get out a bit but will do that when my boyfriend is home. I am starting up my bath bomb business again so to have a companion working alongside with me is my ideal work day. My boyfriend works from home majority of the time, so there is always someone home. His kids do come over 50% of the week and are very kind and helpful with dogs that are boarding with me. They are 12 and 11 so they aren’t little kids. I have lick mats, Kong Gyro, and plenty of space for your dog to have fun at my house. My house is fenced in, we are updating the property all the time to make sure it is safe as possible. For larger dogs, I have a bell on a ziptie to put on your dog’s collar just so I can hear where they are at all times when I am outside with them. For smaller pups, I always go outside with them due to being in an open area so they are safe. I also have a 30’ leash that I can hook them to for extra safety. Inside, I make them as comfortable as possible. Whatever they like at home I try my best to provide at my house.
About: I’m a retired professional who enjoys staying active while providing dependable, compassionate care for pets. I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for when you’re away, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, overnight stays, administering routine medications, or simply providing companionship, I tailor my care to each pet’s and owner’s unique needs and routine. I also believe communication is essential, so you can expect regular updates, photos, and prompt responses throughout your pet’s stay. Pet sitting isn’t just something I do—it’s something I genuinely enjoy. Building trust with both pets and their owners is the most rewarding part of the experience. If you’re looking for a mature, reliable sitter who will provide exceptional care and give you peace of mind, I’d be honored to care for your furry family members. My schedule is flexible; especially with advance notice. Whether it’s walks and potty breaks or overnight sitting I can usually accommodate any schedule, including the holidays. Although typically we will not board at our home, on occasion we’ll make exceptions depending on the breed and temperament. We have two Shih Tzu’s that are extremely playful and nice with other pets. In your home, I will take care of your pets as you would.
“Jerry was punctual, professional, friendly, reliable, and our puppy dog was very excited to see him every time he arrived. Jerry helped us with a daily walk for two weeks while I had a broken ankle. Windsor even started to wait at the door for Jerry‘s appointment time. Thanks again, Jerry for helping out our family. You’re the best.!!!”

“Lelia is dependable and a great communicator. I had a hiccup with logistics and timing however she was flexible and accommodating and spent extra time with Spanky. Spanky is a shy boy and will not usually walk out of the house with a stranger, unless he is on leash. He liked Lelia enough to for a walk without being coaxed outside on his leash! I will definitely book Lelia again!”

“First experience with Rover was wonderful! Typically rely on friends to care for my girl but just didn’t work out this time - was nervous despite hearing good things about Rover, but super happy I booked with Kayla! Super communicative and reassuring that all my girl’s needs were met :-) would absolutely rebook with her!”

About: I grew up caring for small dogs, large dogs, chickens, cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs… we lived on 4 acres, surrounded by other family members in the neighborhood, and I love all of the animals! I'll take 'em cute, crotchety, pudgy, feathered, or furred. :) I have regularly cared for pets of family, friends and business connections, in their home, or mine. I've seen my own pets through old age, and the related medical needs that come with that, so administering medications (oral, subdermal, dermal) doesn't phase me. Note that extensive medication schedules may result in added costs. I work hybrid, primarily, so there's ample flexibility in my schedule to match up with your needs. Since 2023, I work 4-6 hours/day, with a local company (I get to choose my shifts). All these little pieces can be moved around, to make a schedule that fits your pet's care needs. :) Primary Service Areas: Gig Harbor, Fox Island, West Tacoma, North Tacoma/Stadium District, Ruston, Central Tacoma, Fircrest, Steilacoom, North University Place Secondary Service Areas: Golden Given Rd, Waller Rd, Parkland (near PLU only), Olalla, Port Orchard -Out-of-area costs will apply for secondary areas. -Be aware that there are certain neighborhoods that will be excluded, in Tacoma, as a personal safety choice. Note: For house sitting & drop-ins, Gig Harbor/KP bookings will result in an added $6 per night/trip, to help soften costs for fuel and toll. House sitting is available most holidays. Thanksgiving Eve, Day and adjacent weekend have a 10% premium fee added. December 24th-27th, Dec 31st-Jan 2nd have a 12% premium fee added, with a more limited service area. Please ask for details and adjusted quote. Your Place: I'm tidy and conscientious. It's my pleasure to adapt my schedule to your pet's needs. I'm happy to care for multiple pets, in your home (or yard... need help with goats or chickens? Yay! I'm your gal.). Please expect a potty schedule of every 4-6 hours. I'm tidy, bring most of my own groceries (I appreciate it if you provide coffee, tea, cream, sugar, salt, pepper and cooking oil), and I love to bring healthy (approved) treats, and toys, for your pets. My Place: I live alone, in a 1 bedroom place, that I own. I have a few construction projects going, so it's not currently available for boarding, but I hope to have that service in the future. At my place, there's ample room for a small dog, cat, bunny or bird. A dog will be walked 3-5 times/day, depending on their needs. There are dog and cat treats, dog toys, cat toys, and a scratching post, here.
“Savina did a great job walking our dog while we were out for the day. We came home to a worn out and happy pup! We had peace of mind knowing Savina was watching over our baby. We recommend Savina and will book her for future walks!”

“Rachel was great with my pup's walk! Also was super about communicating with me when we had to troubleshoot my front door lock. Happy to rebook and recommend to anyone!”

About: Hello! I have owned dogs for the past 10 years, and have been dog sitting for 5 years. My goal is to keep them happy and healthy. I will treat every dog in my care like my own. Hello! I have a collie mix named Sadie who has taught me a lot as a dog owner. I love all pets especially dogs, and it is a joy to see a smile on a dog’s face. I treat every dog in my care like my own in that I believe their physical and mental health is important to a happy dog. It can be a little stressful for a dog to be in a new environment with a new person, so I like to keep their routine the best I can.
“Sarah was fantastic with our pup!! Looking forward to having her help with walking our boy in the future! We’re happy to recommend her for any and all dog walking needs!”
About: I’ve never understood why chihuahuas loved me so much until I realized how much people don’t respect the boundaries of such small creatures. So much so, they feel the need to be aggressive and defend themselves! I know a good amount about dogs and dogs breeds, how different breeds have different needs and will strive to meet the needs of your fur-baby! I am a full-time Master’s student, but my classes are on weekends only. I have many things to read so overnights would likely be spent playing with your fur-baby before I get some reading done for my degree. To make sure you and your fur-baby feel safe with me in your home, I will make sure to talk through routines you may have with your pet(s). I know how hard it is to be away from your pet, so I will make sure to send photos and videos as requested. I want to make sure I know how to properly care for your pets, so I may have a couple extra questions to figure out how I may support you and your pet.
“Holly is super helpful and nice! She was patient with our stubborn boy and flexible to meet his needs. She was also able to help us a little last minute so very grateful to her prompt and professional response. Rolo adored her”

“Erica has been walking our pups for almost a year. She has always been available, always been punctual, and has always been a great communicator. Our dogs love her and are always excited to see her. Even our one dog who was abused and doesn't like most people took to her right away. Rest assured when you choose Erica your pets are in great hands. Thank-you for always taking such good care of our pups!”

“So glad Anne could help out with my dogs! They have a hard time being alone for too long, and having her walk them and spend time with them was wonderful. Definitely recommend her!”

“Kaylee is amazing with our pup! I can tell she treats and cares for him like he’s her own. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take care of their doggos:)”

“Rachel is wonderful! We highly recommend her. For the past few years, she has walked our dog, Daisy, for us during the work week. She is reliable, communicative, trustworthy, and Daisy loves her! I also love getting the photos at work of all of Daisy’s belly rubs and adventures. Thank you, Rachel!”

“Thank you for your continued amazing work with my Stella girl! We are both so grateful to you! You are always so accommodating and communicative, I appreciate you so much 🥹❤️”

“Saved our bacon at the last minute with a walk, and very clearly knows exactly what she’s doing. Ever meet someone and you think “phew, they are an expert at this”? Yeah that’s her”

About: I have always had animals in my life and have experience caring for dogs, cats, mice, hedgehogs, fish, and guinea pigs. I have also pet sat for other people and understand how important it is to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I currently have two dogs of my own, Dochi and Madrona, who are both Chihuahua and Shih Tzu mixes. Dochi is 1 year old and Madrona is 2 years old. I care for them like they are family, and I would give that same level of love and attention to every pet I care for. I have experience with dogs of different ages and breeds and enjoy getting to know each pet's individual personality and needs. Whether your dog needs a walk, a potty break, a fun day of play, or overnight care, I will make sure they receive plenty of attention, patience, and affection. I am available Friday through Sunday and would love the opportunity to care for your pets! I am a college student, so my availability is mainly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I am able to provide care during the weekend and can work with pet owners to find a schedule that works well for both of us. I offer dog walking, potty breaks, daycare, and overnight pet sitting at my home. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible so they can feel comfortable while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I know how much pets mean to their families because my own dogs are a huge part of my life. I will treat your pets with the same care, patience, and attention that I give my own. I have a fenced backyard where dogs can safely get fresh air, play, and enjoy some outdoor time. I also have a dog crate and a dog fence enclosure available, so I can provide a safe, secure space when a pet needs some quiet time or extra supervision. I have two dogs of my own, Dochi and Madrona, who are both Chihuahua and Shih Tzu mixes. They are friendly and used to being around other animals. I understand that every dog is different, though, so I will always take introductions slowly and pay attention to each pet’s comfort level. I have experience with dogs of different ages and breeds and will follow your pet’s routine, instructions, and individual needs. My goal is to provide a clean, safe, calm, and loving environment where your pet can feel comfortable while you’re away. I will always treat your pets like family and make sure they receive the patience, attention, and care they deserve.
“Natalie has been an amazing sitter. We have a special needs/ very shy dog. Natalie works slow with him, and goes above and beyond making sure his needs are met - my confidence is very high when he’s in her care (and he loves her). She is great about communicating, as well as extremely flexible and easy to work with.”

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Bayview. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Bayview.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bayview. On Rover:
- 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
