This was my first time using Rover, Holly was very communicative regarding anything unusual while walking my dog. Stuck to our agreed upon schedule and I came home to a happy well cared for pup!

Adam has been the best find of Tacoma so far! He is extremely prompt in his responses and communicates easily and is flexible! I trust him completely in my apartment and with my dog. He takes Chief to the park and plays with him for a long while when he has time. I could not imagine a better friend for Chief!

About: I’m a retired professional who enjoys staying active while providing dependable, compassionate care for pets. I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for when you’re away, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, overnight stays, administering routine medications, or simply providing companionship, I tailor my care to each pet’s and owner’s unique needs and routine. I also believe communication is essential, so you can expect regular updates, photos, and prompt responses throughout your pet’s stay. Pet sitting isn’t just something I do—it’s something I genuinely enjoy. Building trust with both pets and their owners is the most rewarding part of the experience. If you’re looking for a mature, reliable sitter who will provide exceptional care and give you peace of mind, I’d be honored to care for your furry family members. My schedule is flexible; especially with advance notice. Whether it’s walks and potty breaks or overnight sitting I can usually accommodate any schedule, including the holidays. Although typically we will not board at our home, on occasion we’ll make exceptions depending on the breed and temperament. We have two Shih Tzu’s that are extremely playful and nice with other pets. In your home, I will take care of your pets as you would.

About: I’ve owned and been around animals since I was a child! I’ve owned elderly dogs and puppies! I can handle rambunctious or a couch potato! I have experience in administering oral medication. I also have experience volunteering with the Tacoma Humane Society to get to know dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I would love to be apart of your furry friend’s life! I have 3 cats of my own and I care for them daily! I currently work nights as a CNA but am very flexible through out the day to fit you and your pets needs! I live in a apartment at the moment and have 3 cats so I wouldn’t have room to bring an animal to my home but in a clients home I respect their personal space and treat them and their animals with respect. I will be communicative and send lots of photos. I understand how nerve racking it can be to leave your pets at home and I will do my very best to ease your nerves while you’re away.

Alright... where to begin! Brian did a wonderful meet and greet with my boys (two newfoundlands) and walked them today without me..that may seem like a strange thing to say but Byron (my younger boy) refuses to go on a walk for anyone but me - not even my husband! He was perfectly fine on going on the walk with Sinjin (my older boy) and Brian. No temper tantrums, no refusal to walk. NONE of it. Brian took them on a good walk, they had fun and their were no problems.

Lelia is dependable and a great communicator. I had a hiccup with logistics and timing however she was flexible and accommodating and spent extra time with Spanky. Spanky is a shy boy and will not usually walk out of the house with a stranger, unless he is on leash. He liked Lelia enough to for a walk without being coaxed outside on his leash! I will definitely book Lelia again!

Autumn was very sweet when she came to pick Sadie, my Aussie Vizsla mix up from her walk. Sadie is my most energetic and driven dog out of my 4 dogs. She came back well exercised and ready for her training session. Not only was Autumn great, Sadie Loved her two kids too! They were very respectful of Sadie and knew how to interact and listen to the direction of their mom, Autumn very well! I am usually very picky with who cares for Sadie specifically because she is a very high strung dog and her craziness is usually comparable to a Belgian Malinois where she never has a chill switch. Autumn handled her very well! I definitely recommend her for your pet care needs!

About: I’ve been caring for pets for about 10 years, providing consistent, attentive care for dogs of different sizes and personalities. My experience includes daily walks, playtime, feeding routines, administering oral medications, light grooming such as brushing, and, most importantly, giving plenty of love and attention. I understand how important it is to maintain a pet’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I’m patient, observant, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs, whether that’s extra exercise, gentle care, or simply companionship. I am currently working 5 days a week, and will be available on my days off. I miss dog sitting/dog walking as a hobby and would love to start doing it again. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs at my house, so I prefer to take care of the pets at the owners home. I would care for them by playing, taking them outside as needed, staying on a feeding schedule and possibly bathing if the owners request !

About: I moved from Mi to Wa in 2015 and decided in 2018 to be a dog walker. That was in King county and after moving to a house in 2021, dog boarding turned into my new side job. Last year I also enrolled in Victoria Stilwell’s Academy for positive training. So I am very aware of dog’s body language and needs. I absolutely love dogs and they are truly my life now but when I was 8 that wasn’t the case. I was bit in the face by a family friend’s dog. He was old and on medication, I startled him awake which led to him biting me. From this incident, I watched Victoria Stilwell on animal planet to get over my fear of bigger dogs and here I am today with a certification in dog training and starting my career with human’s best friend. My goal is for you and your dog to be as comfortable as possible. I only treat dogs/pets as I would want someone to treat mine (and believe me I am a high maintenance pet mom 😉) Dogs are my job. Whether it is boarding, sitting, or walking; this is what I do full time. Sometimes I do Instacart to get out a bit but will do that when my boyfriend is home. I am starting up my bath bomb business again so to have a companion working alongside with me is my ideal work day. My boyfriend works from home majority of the time, so there is always someone home. His kids do come over 50% of the week and are very kind and helpful with dogs that are boarding with me. They are 12 and 11 so they aren’t little kids. I have lick mats, Kong Gyro, and plenty of space for your dog to have fun at my house. My house is fenced in, we are updating the property all the time to make sure it is safe as possible. For larger dogs, I have a bell on a ziptie to put on your dog’s collar just so I can hear where they are at all times when I am outside with them. For smaller pups, I always go outside with them due to being in an open area so they are safe. I also have a 30’ leash that I can hook them to for extra safety. Inside, I make them as comfortable as possible. Whatever they like at home I try my best to provide at my house.

Natalie has been an amazing sitter. We have a special needs/ very shy dog. Natalie works slow with him, and goes above and beyond making sure his needs are met - my confidence is very high when he’s in her care (and he loves her). She is great about communicating, as well as extremely flexible and easy to work with.

About: While I’m new to professional pet sitting, I’ve been a dedicated pet parent for years. Caring for my own pets has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and unconditional love. I understand how much your furry family members mean to you, and I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I give my own. Whether it’s feeding, playtime, walks, or just keeping them company, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away I maintain a consistently open schedule and am always available to provide support, collaborate, or communicate as needed. Reliability and responsiveness are always my priorities. I do have 2 children, a 11 year old and a 7 year old. If requesting house sitting they will need to stay with me. In clients’ homes, I provide personalized, attentive care for animals, ensuring they feel safe and loved in their familiar environment. My routines include feeding according to dietary needs, administering medications if required, refreshing water bowls regularly, and maintaining a clean living space. I also offer enrichment through playtime, walks, and gentle companionship tailored to each pet’s temperament. I monitor behavior and health closely, communicating any concerns to the owner promptly. My goal is to create a stress-free experience for both pets and their people.

Even our one dog who was abused and doesn't like most people took to her right away. Rest assured when you choose Erica your pets are in great hands. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
